Wow, that's crazy how fast they got on that.  Pretty lame, I didn't even know it was an anniversary, I never even cared for the metroid games.  But playing this sort of got me into it for once!

Too bad for Nintendo, it's being torrented now. That's it...they can't stop it. What sucks though is that they planned on releasing updates to the game, they are probably scared now to do so.

The game really is great, feels totally like an official Nintendo project.

Hey has anyone tried adding RL's 1080p scanline shader to this? I think it would look great. I'm pretty sure the game can def. work with bezels (which the shader needs enabled in order to work).

Seems to be but getting it to fit the bezel is another matter as it doesn't seem to want to snap in even though I can drag the window.

Or just do the scanline overlay by itself. Looks cool.

 

You may be able to save me some time young man. How are you doing that exactly? When I set the game to full screen to overlay goes off. I've set the bezel to on in the per game settings but no joy.

I worked out why it wasn't snapping in to the bezel, I needed to use the fadetitle which is...

 

AM2R ahk_class YYGameMakerYY

WinSet, Style, -0xC00000, A

I was wondering what exact methods you guys are using getting rocketlaucncher's built in shader to work with this game? I have bezels turned on and the shader name set to Scanline 1080-P and I cannot get any scanlines to show up as I only get a bezel and a white screen. Any help would be appreciated.

i set the game to windowed and the window size to 4x then set the fade title as I reported in a previous post. I still can't get rid of the window border etc, I did try what Trnzaddict posted but I may have done it wrong and googling it showed similar solutions.

 

 

Where is the shader options in rocketlauncher??? Does it really support shaders?

 

Under bezels at the bottom. Not sure the RL Shader works in the same way as Retroarch or mame shaders. but it works. I could be wrong.

According to the RL notes, the fullscreen bezel option creates a transparent bezel that fills the entire screen and is supposed to simulate a full screen windowed game. I still cannot get the shaders to work while in fullscreen with this option turned on. I can only get the scanline shader to work while in windowed mode within the game. The strange thing is when the game is in fullscreen and the fake fullscreen option is turned on in RL I do not get scanlines  but when I exit the game I can see the scanline shader closing out also for a brief second like the shader loaded behind the game screen instead on top of the game screen.

giga, if you want the shader in fullscreen you can enable the fake fullscreen bezel option in RLUI, that should do it.

 

Thanks brolly but the shader only seems to work when this game is set to windowed, the full screen bezel option works but the window frame is still visible and is visible when a bezel is used as well.

Giga....I would try to make a launcher script for the game. Make an ahk,

 

Run, AMR2.exe

 

sleep, 2000

 

WinSet, Style, -0xC00000, A

Winset, Style, 0-40000, A

 

or instead of the "A" try the correct Fade title for the game.

 

I remember when HP came out, I did this to many Type X games to run them in simulated fullscreen mode so they were able to be minimized.

 

It should work.
