162.96 kB ??

Yes, as per the dl description this one's just the images located in Media/Frontend/Images. A drop in the bucket but a good place to start and artwork that's often overlooked. I had to upload it anyways for the upcoming tutorial on customizing the core frontend UI media so figured it was a good time to kick this lil project off @_@

Avar, my friend, you're carrying the world on your shoulders, I remember you said you were making themes wide-screen a long time ago.

I have learned a lot from you and other guys.

Keep it up, I'm keeping track of your work.

Thanks man. I'm ashamed to say I had to stop before I could get much of the MAME game themes done but what's there should be a good start. As I go I'll kinda re-audit my setup since I know yall media creators have pumped out a lot of really great updated sets of wheels/boxes/carts. Fortunately, those are fairly straightforward to HD-amify.

Yeah man, it's a huge task and I'm sure you went really far with that.

As far as consoles go, I've been creating some "complete" packs wide-screen ready, using the latest databases available, these packs doesn't include videos, and obviously software, they gather wheels, carts or CDs and boxes, along with themes, but the latter can be ignored and the images just placed in themes the user prefers to use.

I think I kinda helped you indirectly doing this.

Haha, you're sure anxious, totally ignored that those were the frontend images! You were expecting at least 1 GB of media, damn!

AAE has been added in its entirety and download links can be found in the download section or in the original post.

Please note: Game Themes for any given system will only ever be made available as a complete set via the Platinum Downloads section on account of how long it would take me to upload individual theme files the fact it took my hundreds if not thousands of hours to remaster all the themes I'll be uploading.

Enjoy!

You rock Avar!

Qq: currently every graphic piece supports swf conversion, except wheels. Is that correct?

Wheels, letters, pointers, and video borders. Given their size and simplicity it doesn't have a huge impact for them not being swf'd though thankfully. Just being the right AR is a huge improvement.

Thanks for that @_@ I was originally gonna upload individual themes but it takes so long for any kinda volume like this and ultimately plat just makes everyone's lives easier in general. Glad the decision doesn't ruffle too many feathers!

Makes all the difference with the correct aspect ratio, indeed, I think half HS users or even more use 16:9 monitors.

With more and more systems coming into the fold it's a trend we'll likely see continuing until 4:3 users are the vast minority, though I definitely feel art should be available in both formats given the nature of HyperSpin's origins.

While retro gaming exists, 4:3 will always be, CRTs will still be manufactured and Vinyls will still sound better than digitalized music.

An arcade cab should be 4:3, but in case it's 16:9, artwork for it will exist, so no big deal.

I myself still ain't got a cab, I use HS in a PC, with a TV mounted on the wall, it's 16:9.

I can only imagine your efforts bringing the official content to wide-screen, and don't even dare to think it's something we don't notice. It's a huge task as I said earlier, your efforts are great and will be useful for thousands.

I think CRT production stopped a while back ... a whiiiiile back.

They still manufacture it in China and Taiwan I believe, it may completely stop one day, but there will always be a market for those, just like Vinyl players, that are still manufactured:
