You are hilarious. Well a good way to start my Friday anyway. Who else is going to make wheels for 8bit porn?

I played this game for ever. One of the first games that made me buy grid paper to map out where I was at. Good times.

Dougan78: Just tested your setup here and it worked nice. Just one thing I had to change in your emumovie converter script. It changed filetype to png instead of mp4 when renaming files. Fixed that and uploaded a corrected one to your folder, you can delete it or fix your own script.

I also tested out tape swap in game and it work flawless :). So thank you so much once again :)

Thanks for the feedback! I put yours in place and even renamed it so Videos is spelled properly. FYI I am a computer guy not a spelling bee winner. :) Anyway glad multi-disk works was wondering. Can't wait to play some skate or die.

Alcazar - The Forgotten Fortress (USA)

This is another one of the games I really enjoyed. Exploring castles. Has a mini-map so you can figure out where you been when exploring the different castles/dungeons. Really a unique game and fun.

How do I get wget to run on windows 8.1. Keeps telling me "This app can't run on your PC". Can't you upload the roms to Mega and make it easier?

Thank you for sharing your interest in the good old C64. I did test wget on on Win 8.1 and Win 7 computers so I can assure you it does work. The way I used it:

1. Download the Binaries ZIP

2. Download the Dependencies ZIP

3. Extract Both Zip files to the Same folder they have the same folder structure.

4. Go to the BIN folder you will see wget.exe. Put the wget batch file I made in this folder. ( it needs wget.exe, libssl.dll, libintl3.dll, libiconv2.dll, libeay32.dll all in the same folder basically to work)

5. Double Click the Wget batch file

6. Get a Beer.

7. Extract ALL of the Zip files to another folder(so all of the T64 and D64 files are in the Same folder)

8. Run the renaming batch file

9. The Roms will be in the Renamed folder.

It is a bit weird I know, It does work. The roms are already in a freely available spot so I did not feel the need to create another spot to download essentially the same thing just with a different name. It is still vastly more convenient than renaming 1380 files yourself. ;)

If you are still running into issues let me know. I did not test with running the setup.exe I just know that is how I got it working on my Win 8.1 as I wanted to test that batch file as I reused it from when I setup gamebase on my setup looking for more c64 games. These days I just take crazy up a notch and just make artwork and organize 1000s of files.

Cheers!

This is great, thanks for sharing it! I'm not sure you have all the Ultima disks added unless I'm mistaken. I have the Tosec set and added all the Ultima's to the old db that were missing. With 'Ultima IV':

You have:

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (USA) (Side A)

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (USA) (Side B)

Tosec set has:

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1986)(Origin Systems)(Disk 1 of 2 Side A)[cr ECA]

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1986)(Origin Systems)(Disk 1 of 2 Side B)(Towne Disk)

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1986)(Origin Systems)(Disk 2 of 2 Side A)(Britania Disk)[a]

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1986)(Origin Systems)(Disk 2 of 2 Side B)(U4-Disk D)

I'm not sure if all of those are required though. While testing, the game just asks for the towne and Britani disks but that's near the beginning.

You may want to add the disk subtitles to the rom names though regardless because the actual games never ask for a disk number while playing, they ask for the disk subtitle name. So it may be confusing if you just title them with numbers or letters in the xml. Ultima V has "(Main)", "(Dungeon)", "(Underworld)", etc. for example. While playing, the game may say, "Please insert the Dungeon Disk and press F1" and you'd have to just guess which disk to insert with the no-intro names.

This is based off gamebase. Gamebase uses a better version of Ultima IV that was optimized down to 2 disks to decrease loading times. That is how popular that game is! Best version of u4 out there! Also ultima will use as many 1541 drives as you have so if you put each disk in a drive it will search all the drives for the disk that you have attached. ONe of the reasons I bought a second drive when I was a kid. If I recall.

Sorcerer of Claymorgue Castle, The (USA)

Cant find a decent box. Used the flyer art.

Voodoo Castle (Text + Graphics) (USA)

I really liked some of these text/graphic adventure games. I was looking for this castle like one that had a chasm to get over and you build a bridge I think, this is after you move a carpet and go through a trap door. Not usre if it is Voodoo Castle. Pirate Adventure was good too by same company. Anyone has a good scan of Claymorge or other C64 Adventure International ones it would be appreciated.

Could use some feed back on this one. I really want to capture the ZORK Essence.

This is the box.

post-95035-142870652684_thumb.jpg

This more complex a one than I normally tackle. I really want Zork I - II - III all in here. I could go with plain white text like on the box, but that is no fun. Deciding where to pen cut on the front is a bit much for me. I took Zork 1 from the manual cover. Anyway any feedback is appreciated.

Edit: though the wheel i have does look pretty darn nice imho.

Dougan78 - Just wanted to give you a shout out for all the C64 work you are doing. This can be an overwhelming system based on the sheer number of games, and you are making great, steady progress. Thanks for the time and effort on this. Many eyes are watching you! :)
