Uploading to here grows the community project. They have stricked standards and u can't just upload anything, they r very good at what they do. In some aspects posting outside of hyperspin, who knows on the quality of work let alone folks finding ur work. Think about it, a random joy isn't just looking for themes that are dedicated to hyperspin. If u want that u go to hyperspin. Folks youtube tutorials for visual help of setting things up. I can tell u one thing, I've been around three years and I wouldn't even bat an eye on stuff outside of hyperspin, vpinball, or emumovies. If you want to get a rep, stick things here and ull get better. It sounds to. E ur sort of in it for the money. Not just anyone can be beer me, u have to be chosen. Yes it's good u are learning and doing this, that's very important. To be honest I think the most impressive part of ur theme was the video border and the transition. Nice job there. The rest of it could be completed by most anyone using hypertheme. Not discouraging just being honest. Keep at it but lose the adfly junk. Stay in the forums. If folks are looking for ur stuff, they will find it here a whole lot easier in the upload page

Loving your advice, but keep this in mind.

These themes can not be created in Hypertheme. You'll see more of what I am talking about in due time.

For example, you only saw 4 seconds of a video that is 1 minute and 3 seconds long. It's High Definition and it's only 6.53 MB's.

Emumovies preview for Amstrad GX400 alone is 10 MB's. Couple that with the layered artwork zip created from hypertheme and that's 10 -12 MB's.

My video condensed that by half.

It's gonna take more time for you to see my vision.

BUT PLEASE keep up the advice. I will ALWAYS be listening.

You saw a pud preview that I put on youtube really quick just to finally give you an idea of what is going on.

In the long term I will have blogs, websites, and NUMEROUS outlets promoting Hyperspin membership.

Trust me, you'll see in the long term.

Once again... Thank you oh so much for your feedback.

Keep being awesome brother!

And P.S. -- NONE of my work will be hosted ANYWHERE besides Hyperspin. In the long run, the only way anyone and everyone to grab a hold of Hyperspin Cinematic will be through Hyperspin.

And that's that.....       for now.

Hyperspin Cinematic just got a logo...

Also, I made an awesome adjustment to the Amstrad GX4000 Preview. It's now longer and has background music.

I like the idea, I liked it before.  Not sure what the adf linky thing is all about or where your going with all that stuff.  Be nice to see more from all this mate.  Keep up the good work!

Brother, PLEASE bare with me when it comes to the annoying adfly links. Just pay me a little respect by disabling your adblocker. And please go back and re-read my posts.

I am on an extreme campaign to generate Hyperspin and Emumovies Memberships. I promise you will see all of this unfold as time goes by.

I am almost confident enough to say that I am just as busy as all of you combined. And please take no offense to anything I say.

I have to generate an income for myself, because I have been putting A LOT of time into my project.

Creating themes, creating blogs, uploading videos to Youtube.

Basically, I am going to saturate the internets with Hyperspin and Emumovies Invitations - Encouraging people to donate and join.

Expect links to all my blogs and content in the near future.

This is going to get massive.

And to reiterate - NO Hyperspin or Emumovies content will hosted anywhere, but their respected communities.

The only way to reach the masses is through Google Search Engine Optimization. I am on top of everything, but I am only 1 man.

Look at my adfly links as the same as the "Beer Me" concept.

Thank you for your encouragement and I am about to post another badass preview, but like I said - If people get disgruntled by my adfly links and shy away from disabling their adblockers I will have to shut my project down entirely.

I know that's not much of a threat, but please pay homage to a man that has went through hell and back when it has come to learning Graphic Arts and Video Editing.

Once again, thank you for your kind words and I WILL KEEP IT UP!

I hate to say it, but I don't think this is the right attitude to adopt and I respectfully urge you to reconsider.  Using adfly links is inadvisable as people are going to be rightly wary of of clicking on them, and threatening to shut down the project if people don't like the way you're presenting the previews is counter-productive, and goes against the whole spirit of this hobby.

You should be doing this because it's fun, because it's something that you want to use on your own HyperSpin setup, and because you want to proudly share it with the community.  If you're working on something really amazing, surely you want everyone to see it and offer their encouragement?   And if, as you say, 1000 click-throughs will only generate "chump change", why bother with adfly at all?

I've agonised over this post for about an hour as I don't want to offend you, so please understand that I am saying this with the best intentions.  I'm incredibly excited at the prospect of seeing a full set of widescreen themes and would give my right arm to have the necessary talent to do what you're doing.  I really appreciate the tremendous effort you've put into this, and think you could be a great asset to this site if you carry on with the project.

When Hyperspin switched over to its new website there was a message when logging in for the first time.

It basically read that we can not operate unless if you turn off your adblockers.

This site IS... 1 big hobby.

But hobby or not, money is what makes the world go round.

I work a 9-5 job and the rest of my free time is taken up with this project.

I've reiterated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to... give.....it.......time.

I'm wanting to launch a campaign outside of the Hyperspin domain to encourage Hyperspin membership. Create content that people can only access through donating to the community, as "I" and "you" have done.

People don't like adfly links simply because they don't like ads.

You are disagreeing with my intentions because you're only seeing it through a greedy perspective.

You haven't given me time to fully launch my campaign.

There are blogs to be made, videos to be created and uploaded, there is lots and lots and lots of work to be done.

I understand the "spirit of the hobby." But can the spirit of the hobby survive without "donations?" Can the spirit of the hobby keep going if there is no currency to feed the economy?

The Hyperspin Community may be a hobby based society, but in the end it is essentially an "economy."

I understand your concerns though and I tell you what.....

Throughout all of my ramblings and defendings of my cause...... Your words struck something within me that is hard to explain. Something I really can't put into words.

Don't worry, everything you are reading right now is being said (typed) with the most solemn intentions possible. And with "that" said......

I'm abandoning Hyperspin Cinematic and Hyperspin altogether. It's not worth it anymore, because I'm the type pf person that can't handle having these types of feelings.

Thanks for your comments and bless you in everything that you do.

And that's that.

P.S. -- Before reading your comment, I had uploaded another preview to Youtube. And out of principle I will provide you with another adfly link to get to it....

If your principle is to not click on it, then don't. If so, I hope you enjoy it. Another Beautiful Project on the internets abandoned.

Hyperspin Cinematic - AAE Main Menu Preview (1920x1080)

Hope you enjoy the preview, because it's all over.

First video had 33 views, probably all from this thread :-) dude has talent but completely wrong approach to all this

The aaee is pretty sick. I'm trying to understand the first part with the stars. I assume it's particle effects? It's a nice touch and wondering if hyperspin can run it

Stay put dude, keep at it just lose the adfly

yeah if you want to release a set of themes, and get feedback on certain themes then release it here, and post vids on youtube.  For example, I wouldn't use the AAE theme simply because it takes too long to actually enter the explosion part of the theme.  If the star intro was only one second sooner, it would flow better.  When your scrolling through several wheels, you usually don't want to have to wait for a dramatic intro.  Most things are short and sweet in hyperspin.

I wouldn't do this preliminary adfly only for hyperspin forum users to see, and then keep going on and on about how the internet is going to be blown up by it.  How about you just post all your previews on youtube all at once and see if it indeed does blow up?  Posting adfly links here to only us forum readers won't help it to spread at all.  Because we are already focused on this little tiny corner of the internet. Because we know the website and the software.  I didn't learn about hyperspin because I already knew about this forum.  I didn't know to type in the exact word "hyperspin" into a search engine to find this frontend.  I had to accidentally come across it like 10 pages into a general front-end search.

What I'm saying is, if you have the right keywords and titles on youtube, you just might get a bunch of exposure simply from people looking at slightly related videos about video games or front ends.  You won't get anything from the 30 people that read this post and click the link.  I do like where you are going with your themes, and the quality is right up there.  In the end you can obviously do what you want, but i'm sure it would be better if we all just worked through them here on the forum, get some feedback from the master theme makers, and converse about stuff, have fun with it.

Life's too short to argue with strangers on the internet so I'm not even going to bother to explain why this is nothing to do with greed.  Bakerman, if you change your mind I'll be very glad to see this continue and will be right here cheering you on, but otherwise goodbye and good luck.

Things sure did get a bit weird in here.

Bakerman I loved what you showed of your work earlier in this thread. I'd also like to see your latest previews, but I'm afraid I'm not going to click on a link that makes me think it's going to hijack my browser or give me a virus. Still hoping you release this stuff at some point!

This has EVERYTHING to do with greed. You see my adfly links as a greedy way to make money and not a satisfactory way to contribute to the community. Come on man, I've respected your comments to no end. In fact, I think it was you that inspired me to do this project. Were you the one that spotted the rhombus effect through anamorphic stretching? It was my investigation into that, that made me stumble across this project.

I agree with you on not arguing, because all it creates is heartache. Plus, I suffer from a multitude of emotional problems... Problems that stem from childhood, but you're not my counselor, so I better stop talking about that.  :wallbash:

Anyways, expect me to be the type of guy that flip flops. If my feelings get hurt, then I quit the project. If I feel happy then it's back on.

But besides the animosity being created here, these videos are pretty cool aren't they?

Lovin the results.

But I need some tips on video editing. If I make a video at 1920x1080, what codec do I need to be using for Hyperspin to handle it properly? I found some topics on google, but when I click on them they take me to the Hyperspin homepage. No longer redirected due to the Hyperspin changeover. And the Hyperspin search function is not helping either.

Point me in the direction to some video making tutorials that will make these work in Hyperspin. The Amstrad one works pefectly, but the AAE one stutters. Plays perfect on my computer, just not through Hyperspin. Hopefully BBB can encode Hyperspin with the K-Lite Codec Media Player, that would solve everything.

Anyways, looking forward to your feedback.

Click on it anyways. It ain't gonna hijack your browser. Give me a break. Disable your adblocker and pay homage to the people who work and try to contribute. And I'm not just talking about the Hyperspin community.

The internet is 1 MASSIVE marketing medium. Businesses use advertising as a way to generate money, so they can keep doing what they are doing. It's selfish people like us that install adblockers, and whine about the ads that are wrong. That's why I got rid of mine a long time ago. Business and hobby sites can not survive without visitors doing their part and disabling their adblockers. That is just as greedy as the business posting the ad.

My links shows a 5 second ad that you can skip and proceed to the viewing content.

So give me a break on the whole "virus thing." You know better than that. Don't create fake issues, just because you don't like ads.

But on the other hand, you have been quite the follower to my thread. I will keep trying to please you with my content. Just give me respect and don't think of me as a greedy bastard.

By the way, go to google and type in, "Hyperspin Cinematic."

I'm ALREADY at the top. Now I just need my own blog or website, so you guys will quit whining.

P.s. -- If you guys haven't realized yet, I'm trying to have fun WHILE creating my own business. I want to make Hyperspin a full-time job and I will do whatever it takes to get there. Stop complaining and start supporting.

:thanks:

Everything you said in your post I already know.

I understand Search Engine Optimization. Go to google and type in "Hyperpin Cinematic" and see what pops up first. My unique project title is already number 1. Now it's only a matter of uploading more content and spreading the word.

The adfly shit is an experminent. My business is just lifting off the ground. I have a long way to go. I won't be posting these here forever. There will be a time when "I" blow up the internet with Hyperspin Cinematic content. I dont expect it to blow up from just posting in this little corner of the internet. I understand that, but thanks for your feedback.

A 1 second difference is all it would take for you to use that Theme? Lol.

I love you man,

I am not sure what to say ......

That's ok brother.

My themes are videos. They do not consist of artwork layering or particle effects.

Some work and some don't I need to know what codecs Hyperspin can handle.

You can say something about that, if you wish.

Even after all this, i'm confused how hyperspin themes could just be one huge video.  This really works?  I thought it had to be the hypertheme xml artwork swf stuff?

And yes, a one second difference in things has made me go back and forth altering my own stuff until the timing is just right.  It's a little OCD yes, I admit.  But usually when i'm spinning through themes and wheels i like to see it all come together within a few seconds or so.  That way I can actually see what the theme is all about quickly. Just a personal preference.  :-)

Yes, they are 1 big video.

You still have the corresponding .zip in the themes folder, but with no artwork. Only the xml specifying the video coordinates.

Okay you guys, the time has come to bring this thread to an end. It's been fun, but it's time to move over to a new thread dedicated solely to Hyperspin Cinematic.

Thanks for all the views and feedback... and Hopefully I will see you all at my new thread.

Please don't comment here anymore.

As of right now, consider this thread closed.

Would appreciate some assistance if anyone could lend a hand.

While you all seem to be working with a 16:9 ratio, I run a 16:10  = 1920x1200.

I've been trying to convert some artwork using different methods and I can't seem to get it just right.

I've been re-sizing my canvas to 1920x1200 and not the 1366x768 as mention in the thread.  Is that correct?  Was that just your monitor size or more tied to Hyperspin itself?

Methods I've tried.

1) Open PNG in PS > Re-sizing canvas to 1920x1200 > Re-sizing image to 1024x768 > Save as PNG > Import to Hypertheme > Exported = Not crisp enough

2) Open PNG in PS > Re-sizing canvas to 1920x1200 > Re-sizing image to 1024x768 > Save as PSD    |   Create 1920x1200 Stage in Flash > Import PSD = terrible image quality (Imported with Maintain Editable, Vector Outline, Flash Layers)

4) Open Flash > Create 1920x1200 canvas > Import PNG > Re-size canvas to 1024x768 > Re-size Image to the size I'd want for 1920x1200 > Export to SWF > Import to Hypertheme = best

3) Tired using dark13's "PNG_to_SWF_dark13_NO_SCALE_SMOOTH.jsfl" on the folder containing the image and got the SWF.   Though I'm not sure which are the best steps I should take before that.

Either way, I'm trying too hard to figure this out and it's late.  Thought you all may be able to shed some light on the proper maths or script changes I can make in order to work  best on my 16:10 - 1920x1200 monitor.   I'll try again in the morning.

Thanks all,

Project

Even though there is a lot of good information in this thread, it is someone else's and has been closed. You should probably create your own thread. I have never made themes, and have only read half this thread lol, but I think when resizing images you want to squish the length but not the width. So you 1920x1200 should become ????x1200. Not sure of the math in your case.

Good luck
