Nope, I can change that easily.  I will make that change.  Once I get the initial scan up and make sure there are not too many errors I will upload it somewhere.

Condition format 0% to whit text for uber happiness

Yeah I will do much in the area of formatting once I get it ready for distribution if anyone even wants it.  I am syncing data against hypersync at the moment.  Will soon have a listing of everything in hypersync.

HyperSync seems to only sync 'box art' and 'cart art' and they default to artwork3 and artwork4 respectively.  Due to the ease of setting that up I am going to leave the defaults for now.  At a later date I will determine what was available (i.e. 3d or 2d artworks) and sort as needed.  My base run will just use what is there though.

I do it for all 196 official systems...

But the HyperList page only has 191 xml's/listed or am I missing something? either way great job on the work so far looking good.

Sorry Sean, I got my numbers wrong.  You are correct.  Here is my output:

This is purely what is in HyperSync

2 databases are empty, PC Games and Doujin Soft, so those were removed (can't divide by 0 and too early to write error handling code).

nothing to be sorry about mate I actually thaught that maybe I had missed a system or 2 when I was grabbing all the xml's from HyperList releaved to know that I didn't lol and nice I'm sure JSinn could make some use of the info provided in that spreadsheed I actually don't use HyperSync but none the less it's great info to have/know my only advice would be to rename the spreadheet from "Media" to something like "HyperSync Media" maybe overall great job mate.

Renaming was a good idea.

I plan on trying to fill out the rest with stuff from downloads and elsewhere, maybe even branch out to use agent47's new xmls and the like.  I hope to see what all we do have.

Additionally I can now provide sheets for every system.  Say for instance you see on the output that SNES has only 97.4% box art.  The system sheet would show everything that is needed for that system....

oh shit.... I just formated the wrong drive...

Well I am an idiot, was imaging some RetroPies and definitely wrote to the wrong drive.  Spreadsheet, media, hyperspin setup is gone... Trying to see if I can recover it now.

Yeah we have spoke about what the best/most complete xml's are to use and this is something we need to get decided/do going forward with the project.

Oh nooooo I feel your pain mate hopefully the data is recoverable thats alot of work to just lose in seconds it's amazing how quick stuff can be lost especially when thinking about how long it takes to collect this just makes me wish I had more cash so I could get more HDD's to back my files up at the moment i'd be lost if any of my drives fail

Well the roms are safe as they are on a larger drive so that is a plus but here is to hoping I can recover the drive...

Now that is a relief although i tend to find the roms/games are easier to find than the media but its still good to know they are safe atleast just hope the rest is recoverable best of luck mate

I was able to recover the spreadsheet (trying to recover the rest now).  I added a sheet for SNES so that you could see what I was talking about earlier.

I made it in such a way that you could easily sort each row to determine what you are missing.  I will add buttons and a better flow later today and upload it so that I do not lose it again.  If you want to mess with it, I went ahead and uploaded a version to my drive:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3enZJngysREUWYzSWhNMm1KWUk

There are no buttons so you will need to use the developer menu bar in Excel2010 to execute the macros.  The sheet named "List" has a place at cell M1 that you will need to put your hyperspin directory.  It assumes that you are using the default folder structure.

There are 3 macros:

CreateSheets - reads the system names from column A on Sheet "List", creates a sheet named after the system, scans media folders and determines what you have.

DeleteSheets -  Deletes all sheets created with the CreateSheets Macro

totals - Totals all system media files on sheet "Totals".  This is the output I posted to the google doc earlier.

There is no error checking so expect errors though I did not experience any.  I do not know what happens if you do not have databases...actually my drive just got deleted so let me see what happens ;D

Ok so oddly enough, my spreadsheet can still access all of the databases xmls because it just ran and imported everything like it should... crazy.

So wait the sheet checks your personal set up or is this determining what files are currently on sync?

I believe it will check what you have against the xml's you have (it's a WIP 1st version) Then it has the main men list overview then you click a system and it gives you a detailed spreadsheet for that one.

Adamg is doing testing it with a setup from what is on Hypersync so we can see what is there and missing.

Well that's how I understand it but I could be wrong.

Adamg,

Is there a spreadsheet for the Genesis? I started putting together a proper 2D set that matches the 3D set. Also noticed the DB needs to be updated to include 2 extra games since the 3D box and wheel have already been made for them. Should I updated it myself?

Still cleaning up DOS boxes but jumper on the Genesis out of boredom.

Yeah that is correct.  It checks your personal setup.  I have used the official databases against what is in HyperSync as a baseline to see what was available there.  The intention is to be able to find all available media files and give them to whoever is behind HyperBase so that we can get one step closer to 100% without redoing what has already been done.  Since I cannot really help with creation at this point, I have appointed myself as a curator of sorts.

So it is designed to check an individual's setup BUT as of right now we are using it to check HyperSync by just downloading HyperSync.  Now that I have that I am going to collect all of the media in the download section, then individual files to see what all is truly there.  I hope that makes sense.

The reason I made it though is so that I could easily manage my own art files because the audit programs here did not suit my needs.  This creates spreadsheets that can be sorted and formatted however we need them instead of txt files that are not of real use to a project on this scale.  I hope that makes sense.

Sega Genesis added.  I tried to just upload the whole thing as 1 workbook to google docs but apparently it does not like 190 page workbooks :)

I will need to add them individually.  Let me know what sheets you want and I will do them first as I have time.

If several people could run my spreadsheet on their media and upload the spreadsheet that their setup created, I could compare it against mine and update the changes as well.  I am not sure if that is the best way to go about it but feel free to let me know what you think.

I support anything for Genesis as that's my favourite childhood console!

Do you know if there is much Mega Drive artwork about? I have an old set of about 500 3D boxes I recently tracked down on here.

Styphelus you seem to have everything!!

I would but my PC setup is just a testing and dumping ground so would be useless.

My advice would be to keep a separate copy of the Hypersync sheet to refer back to if things get confused.
