Absolutely awesome!!! Thankyou so much for making this script. That's two major things gHutch has helped me with now, the initial setup thread and now this script.

Using the script to control hyperspin with my controllers, and setting a combination of controller buttons to exit emulators in HyperlanchHQ global settings; has made my setup completely keyboard free - just like it should be. Obviously I already had all my controls setup in each individual emulator.

how do you do this? thats the thing im working on now and cant get.. i wanna be able to close out of a game with the controller..

i installed the script, works good for me.

But I cant find the settings to back out of a game, rather not have to pick up my htpc remote to do it.

i was just messing with xpadder before this, but setting that up, changed ALL my emulator controls, and was gonna be a big headache to figure out

this seems much easier.

think i found it, hyperlaunchHQ>global>global settings>controls>exit emulator key?? hm but its not letting me edit the key i just assigned yet. oops my bad, num lock was on. LMAO cant exactly type numbers with that off.

hopefully i'll figure it out now.

Thanks for this excellent script. I've been using it to launch and close programs and finally decided to use it instead of Xpadder to control Hyperspin with my Xbox controller. I have two issues, there is about a 2 second delay when I exit en emulator before I can regain control of the Hyperspin wheel, is this normal? I should mention that I use Xpadder while playing systems.

The second problem is that it takes about 10 seconds or more before I have control of the wheel when I first turn on my computer. What is weird is I can press a button to skip the intro video but when the wheel loads its not responsive for about 10 seconds. Any ideas?

I have been using the latest 1.07 version and noticed that once I boot up hyperspin the only button not working on the xbox controller is the y button which is the favorites key. Any ideas why only this button? The ini file has this set to joy 4 I believe.

Yeah, same for me except that I noticed that the yes/no buttons work right away but direction buttons take about ten seconds. He responded to me earlier in this thread I believe. I think the delay was added to prevent an error that was occurring when skipping or not using the intro video.

This happens to me with a keyboard so I believe it is a HyperSpin issue.

Try a different button, like Joy7 or Joy8. If that doesn't work than something is going on with the HyperHQ keyboard settings for player 1.

No idea mate. I use autohotkey's built in handler for joystick buttons so I wouldn't know what's going wrong.

The two second delay is normal because my script goes dormant while the hyperspin window is inactive and then when it becomes active again take at the most four seconds to restore controls. Because I can't really put an event handler on when HyperSpin is active the script asks windows every so often if the hyperspin window is active.

The 10 second delay is not normal to the script's function but is normal to hyperspin keyboard controls. Hyperspin is probably still loading in those ten seconds.

Hi ghutch92

its great that it will work, I have a few questions as I am a complete noob.

I read the first page about installing but im just wondering how I confirm my controls in the script.

im using two of these in a small bartop machine for my nephew

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zero-Delay...item27df642748

I have the following emulators setup in hyperspin

Mame

Zsnes

Sega Genesis - Fusion

Sega Master System - Fusion

Sega 32X - Fusion

Atari 5200 - Fusion

The emulators are configured correctly to the joysticks outside of hypersin, but I didn't want to start messing with settings until I asked a question. I messed around too much earlier and had to re install everything. I used your install guide this time though and it was super smooth.

The bartop has 2 players and 8 buttons " 6 buttons + Start button + Credit/Select Button" is it possible to use these button to navigate hyperspin, enter an emu, exit an emu, enter a diff emu.

Any info is greatly appreciated

Cheers

Max

Ps I posted this earlier in the wrong thread sorry

My script does not exit an emu, as that has always been a hyperlaunch thing.

If your human input device is registered as a game controller then you can view what does what in Window's control panel. Open control panel, search usb and select Set up USB Game Controllers. You will see a new window with a list of game controllers plugged in, double click on your controller or highlight it and click properties. Open the test tab in the game controller properties windows and you should see what registers as what to the game controller.

The button numbers match my button numbers and the axis id for x and y and z match and Y Rotational = R, X Rotational = U.

Hi ghutch92 and all you other unsung heroes of noob assistance :)

I've been running Hyperspin on my system for some time now but have been doing a fresh install of a standalone mini-computer to run as a dedicated multi-console, very exciting! Look up Zotac EI750 if you're interested.

Anywho your guides have been invaluable, many thanks! I want to get the frontend purring before I move on to the emulators etc and have run into a hitch with the startup script you posted. You see my controller of choice is the DS4 which after some effort is now pairing seamlessly with a combination of the Xbox 360 controller drivers and DS4Windows. In short the PC now thinks my DS4 is an Xbox controller and is running sweet.

This is where the noob comes in.

Long story short I've followed your guides for installing and configuring HLHQ and xpadder to run your startup script and it works, to a point. Buttons such as up, down, skip up, skip down, genre, favourites, exit and start work as planned, but some buttons seem to have an override or just don't react. In particular Roulette, volume, quicklaunch and the various trigger buttons. I've looked through the Game Controller Settings and Xbox 360 controller software, everything seems to be mapped correctly and registers the correct button activations. Am I perhaps missing some finer detail in xpadder or HLHQ to map these buttons? Is it simply that your script wasn't designed to be used in this fashion (i.e. with DS4)? I've been combing the forums for any posts about the same issue but I'm either stupid or unique, or both lol.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.
