langersld Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I just wanted to get clarification that Taito Type X is working fine in the New RocketLauncher... In the PC Launcher.ini...I am pointing the script to the bat files eg: [super Street Fighter IV] Application=C:\Hyperspin\Games\Taito Type X\Super Street Fighter IV\Super Street Fighter IV.bat AppWaitExe=game.exe I seem to be getting an issue where the game starts fine but after 20 seconds closes and the Hyperlaunch "now loading page appears" Any help appreciated
Deadly Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Honestly, all my TTX games are green when audited. Not that it really matters because your games do launch fine. Not sure what causes this behaviour though. Rom mapping set to true VS false?
gigapig Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Not sure, the Rom name or exe/bat name matches the xml??
TechnoFreek Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 yeah, its not a big deal really as the games load either way. Ultimately I'll be using through Hyperspin in my cab so HyperlaunchHQ more of a test scenario. Have most games added now. Going to go through each one via Hyperspin to test. Ill report any issues back and seek assistance. Thanks for all the help so far! I presume I still use the pcloader exe to set the resolution, fullscreen mode and controls etc?
Parsec Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Hello folks. Yes, it's me again! Building my taito wheel back. I'm having a troubling issue. I can't configure controls. If I use the Type x loader and choose classic it gets stuck on the "press player button for player 1 joystick Up". No matter what I press nothing happens. It's the same if I just the actual type X config.exe. If I use the new GUI to map controls it always reverts to "joy[1]: Hat [0] up" I found I can work around that by pressing the button I want to remap before I press the little block to map the key but this won't fix the games I have to config outside of the Type X loader or ones that don't have the gui option. Very strange.
gigapig Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I presume I still use the pcloader exe to set the resolution, fullscreen mode and controls etc? You can use that or for the controls use either pad_config or xb_config, within the game folder and depending on the game.

Very strange. Like I just said to Technofreek, I'd use either pad_config or xb_config from the game folder to set the controls. If your having trouble with one that has xb_config and they wont stick or you have a problem try moving or renaming monitor_input.bin You will then get a blank sheet to work on, once finished, monitor_input.bin will be recreated in the folder. That doesn't seem to work with pad_config.exe. Are you using a gamepad?
TechnoFreek Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Ok. so my first issues as I test in hyperspin. Gigawing and Homura load, rotate vertical for horizontal monitor and work just fine but when I exit back to Hyperspin, Hyperspin freezes. If i press the left mouse button it seems to unfreeze however when I have this up and running in my cab there won't be a left mouse button! Suggestions please. I presume this is related to irotate or related. Update: Raiden III and IV behave the same with Hyperspin freezing on exit.

In hlhq make sure you have "restore frontend and click" set. Not sure where it is probably in settings. Also how are you exiting? You may need to edit your exit emulator keys also in HLHQ. I have a 2 key press and hold for 3 seconds set.

Damn strange. I even downloaded a few fresh files that worked in the past and they have the same issue. Where is this monitor_input.bin located?
langersld Posted October 21, 2013 Author Posted October 21, 2013 Parsec The monitor_input.bin is located within the same directory as the game folder... which game are you trying to config the controls for?
Parsec Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 ParsecThe monitor_input.bin is located within the same directory as the game folder... which game are you trying to config the controls for? Well, I had a couple of games that did have the Pad_config but I was able to add the exe and I believe I have all my base Taito Type x controls configed. Still need to work on the newer ones though. Thanks for the input. I think the most frustrating issue with the taito wheel is that something that worked a couple weeks ago might not work now.
gigapig Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 You can also configure 1 game and if you feel your going to use the controls on another game you can just copy and paste typex_bindings.bin into each game folder. Saving you configuring each and every one.

You may need to edit your exit emulator keys also in HLHQ. I have a 2 key press and hold for 3 seconds set. Sound. Will give that a go. Im just hitting escape to exit. Works fine on other type x games. Just the ones that rotate causing the hassle. Really want to keep it just set to escape as the jpac supports it nicely. Nice tip on the bindings file too as I have the same controls setup driven by panel layout.

Great tip! I may have to resort to this solution.
TechnoFreek Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Clicked restore frontend and click under both global and taito. Made no difference. Will stick an image up of my exit settings but as I said before I want to keep it as escape as it suits my jpac and cab setup.
gigapig Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Ok, as a last resort there is a bunch of TTX stuff on my ftp which may help with some of rotating games. Mainly the wrapper packs (made by Dragon King) they may help with exiting. They don't require you using the DXWnd module but some still need DXWnd to rotate. I think they also help with restoring resolution on exit. Have a play around.
TechnoFreek Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Cheers dude. Will take a look. A right pain having to go to that effort for just a couple of games
gigapig Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 For some of us it's the challenge of getting them working, not the actual playing. But a lot of these are very good. My particular favs are Spica Adventure (just nuts) Trouble Witches Otomedius And all the verticle shooters

Open HyperlaunchHQ Click on TTX console Click on Settings tab Under Desktop section set it as the following: False, true, true, true, false Under EXIT section Ensure restore front end on exit is set for RESTORE AND CLICK Close HyperlaunchHQ See if vertical game exit still causes HS to freeze. IIRC - it was something in this setting area that causes this behaviour. Please report back.
gigapig Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 TechnoFreek, I would try what Deadly suggests before moving on to other solutions.
langersld Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 Sorry to stick my nose in here guys....... But this sounds like a job for SUPER BOOMSLANGNZ........ Techno try this tute for eventghost.... http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?26741-Taito-Type-X-and-Hyperlaunch-3-0&p=259531&viewfull=1#post259531
Deadly Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Damn, TechoFreek can you open a game such as Battle Fantasia or Arcana Hearts and see if they also "freeze" and require the left mouse click to reactivate Hyperspin?
