Taito Type X and Hyperlaunch 3.0

I just wanted to get clarification that Taito Type X is working fine in the New RocketLauncher...

In the PC Launcher.ini...I am pointing the script to the bat files

eg:

[super Street Fighter IV]

Application=C:\Hyperspin\Games\Taito Type X\Super Street Fighter IV\Super Street Fighter IV.bat

AppWaitExe=game.exe

I seem to be getting an issue where the game starts fine but after 20 seconds closes and the Hyperlaunch "now loading page appears"

Any help appreciated

Oh cmon now how the hell did I miss this until now? Bwahahahaha that's awesome. But let me correct your statement so it's true.

Anyway - I've spent a shit ton of time on my cabinet lately - especially TTX because I'm finding bugs.

Games that used to work don't. I found Homura and Shikigami no shiru were bombing out with a game.exe blah blah blah windows error.

The fix was (one or both changes) to run the (arcadepc loader) launcher.exe as admin as well as setting compatibility mode as Windows XP SP3. BAM no more issues

AH3 is being a complete mother whore. If I use the launcher OUTSIDE of ArcadePC Loader then the graphics are shoved into a small corner of the full screen. IF I use the wrapper version only 2 of the 5 buttons work. If the game is launched via HLHQ it works. If it;s launched via the batch file it works. For whatever dumb ass reason when launched through Hyperspin is when it doesn't work correctly. Yes I have configured this games inputs and nothing fixes it. Also doesn't matter what version(or any of the the other "fixed" or "full screen" versions) - those damn things always slap my res back to 640x480. I've also made the attempt to modify files such as Gameres.dat and manually set the resolution to my native res. Doesn't work either.

I've found a couple games that actually worked better if I used the .bat file to launch the game.exe instead of the ArcadePC loader launcher.

Another SNAFU - I've witnessed a couple games that didn't work properly outside of HS (full screen issue) but when launched through HS they worked fine.

Not to mention a handful of the games when exiting lose focus and I have to click the mouse to have HS active again. I do have the settings to restore and click set. Doesn't make any difference.

The sad part is the Japs really know how to make kick ass games. Normally I;d say there's just no reason to spend this much time to make a game work - but this Jap shit is too cool not to.

Anyway I would suggest that everyone play EVERY game. Ensure it starts, is full screen, rotated when need be, plays and all controls work, saves your high score (when applicable) and lastly die. Homura was the first game I realized wasn;t fully working and how I came to the conclusion of compatibility mode etc.

Also, I have a 4 player cp that is mapped as default buttons in MAME. I just hex edited and tested Samurai Shodown - Edge of Destiny so the controls match this layout. Going to upload it to my FTP folder for anyone that wants it.

I'm going to be testing the rest of the TTX games I have and will report back any other bullshit I encounter ;)

At the end of the day, I sincerely believe there is going to be a TON of inconsistencies between systems. The guides/Wikis are only a base line. I introduced issues after going from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Even with UAC turned off.

And FWIW - RAIDEN IV works for me - perfectly. Each and every time. No reboots ever needed. That right there goes against the grain :)

Your post brought back lots of happy memories ;) and I've just upgraded my pc so I'd better check everything again.

Not sure how this fares with iPac, should fine.

Thanks, for support this hard emu, when i launch games through APCL 1.4+ in 4:3 games like PI5 or vertical games i see the background blue, there is no support for bezels in pclauncher, but can i change the background to black?

I did see your PM. It's not an issue with configuring, all buttons and so forth work fine. I've used your dropbox items and it didn't make a difference. AH3 is just a butthole end of story. Going to work on it some more today. Are you still using the wrapper that Howard Castro built (Arcana Heart 3.exe)? Or are you launching game.exe from the .bat file (pointing to the new loader or old loader?)? Or are you using the ArcadePC Loader launcher?

Sure wish someone could explain how to hex edit the launcher - because the game actually plays and exits fine and it doesn't screw up the resolution. The resolution it runs at is just f'ed up. Uber small window in full screen.

And with upgrading comes new issues. Windows 7 to Windows 8 brought me bugs. Upgrading HLHQ introduced new issues.

On a side note, I'd like to know how to get the bezels to work for the shooters also WITHOUT using Howards wrapper. I've made the folder/directories under bezels, added the files and changed from jpg to png. Added the bezel.ini file and enabled bezels in HLHQ and it still doesn't work. Not a big deal - just would look nicer heh.

Firstly, I'm very sure pclauncher does not support bezels otherwise I probably would have added some.

To actually get things working, I'm using xb_loader.exe to start game.exe and xb_config.exe to configure keys and set to full screen, which looks pretty good if a little jaggy.

With all that the games run fine and exits just fine.

I do use another game.exe that leolangone777 found for me so the sound would work. I think thats also up on the ftp.

Edit:

Just taken out Qres as it wasn't needed anymore. Using the the exit key configured in xb_config.exe

Not to double up guys...

but I have uploaded on FTP ( just in case its required) the original AH3 game.exe needed to run the game with the xb_loader

Well I'll be damned. The original AH30.exe I had must have been corrupted. The new AH30.exe getting loaded with xb_loader was indeed the ticket! I about shit when not only did it load, the game was full screen AND all the damn buttons worked. And then I dropped a trail of poo when it exited with ESC and the resolution returned to normal. UNBELIEVEABLE!

Well done Deadly. The feeling of elation and relief. Constipation can be awful. ;)

It's fun getting Otomedius workng and well worth it. You may need a mouse or trackball in game to click on menus. Not sure if there is a key to get over that.

Don't know how you are with command line stuff (I have no clue) you could try this

Sounds like it might force a game into submission. You could add it to prelaunch.

Also, I've had a dig around and found if you open "settings.arc" in Notepad++ in the Otomedius folder there are resolution settings in there. Whether they are relavent, I don't know.

I will have a play around if I have time.

You can change the resolutions by running it through ArcadePCLoader.

This also gets rid of the 'green square' thats visible in SFIV by changing the resolution to 1280 x 720

Shit...yea that's the res I was looking to run it on. My hardware SLG does not do good things to 720p....darkens the screen tremendously because the lines are so thin. If I could get this game to run in 640x480 Id add this back to my cab but I refuse to reach into my keyboard drawer to switch off my slg when selecting this game. Takes away from the seamless experience.

The question is a little confusing.....

why are you choosing the window mode? full-screen will run full-screen.....

Battle Fantasia runs fine in full-screen

Are you using Hyperlaunch to run the games?

Are you using the files from DJVJ on FTP?

Hi guys. I am just starting out to set up type x under RocketLauncher. Have the wheels and rom from before.

Going by previous threads I first set up PCLauncer under global. Then select Type X from the left, edit global settings.

But everything is greyed out! What am I doing wrong?

Aaahhh, I see my avatar in your pic.

Thats because your not seeing the whole picture. The top window in your pic, you need to either snap in to the left or right or make it full screen; then all will be revealed.

You will now see the green + button which will allow you to add your games if you have a TTX xml.

Exitmethod

?

Do I just put in the name under fadetitle or do i have to run windowgrabber etc?

You could probably leave the Exitmethod until you get a problem.

Appwaitexe is usually game.exe apart from KOF Ultimae match which is game_boss.exe if you adding Contra it's AMContra_full.exe and Otomedius is otomedius.exe

Last stupid question for now. By adding each game in hyperlaunchhq as above does this create the necessary files in the modules folder or is that a separate exercise?

Or perhaps not needed at all?

Yes just copy and paste that into the fadetitle box that will add it to the PCLauncher.ini. That goes for the rest of the added info.

You can add it directly to the ini if you feel comfortable doing so, but there really is no need.

Perhaps should have a look at it just so you no whats happening.

Ok, so starting to get somehwere with this. Have added a few games through Rom Settinga under Global Module Editor.

They launch from here. Some not perfect screen size, position etc), but in the main they are loading which is the key thing.

When I go into the game tab in hyperluanchhq and do an audit all the games show as red, not present. However if I click launch. they do launch.

This behaviour normal?
