The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

I can think of better things to blow £50k on...

"I'm not glad he's dead, but I'm glad he's gone." Nobody deserves to have to die - not Jobs, not Mr. Bill, not even people guilty of bigger evils than theirs. But we all deserve the end of Jobs' malign influence on people's computing"

It's a smart phone for dummies (my in-laws use them), and if you tell them all it's cool and slap a massive price on it, they'll lap it up.

I've never owned one :P

What I really don't get is WHY people happily spends 700€ for an iphone or a galaxy then get scared when you tell'em they should consider at last a 700€ budget for a gaming pc...

what do they think they should spend?

Pc is not a "status symbol", so basically people don't want to spend too much on it. I guess it's the same stuff in other countries. Obviously I'm not talking about real "gamers" nor people into computing.

A lot of people want to play games like BF4 with a 400€ notebook...

Their screens will be cracked the first time they drop them :P

When you have that much money you aren't going to worry about a cracked screen, you just get another phone and throw the old one away

I bought an iPod Touch a few years ago and although the device itself was user friendly, I found the iTunes software absolutely infuriating. It assumes all mp3s are music so if you drag something into the Podcasts folder it disappears and you have to go and find it and fiddle about with the file properties. Editing the tags first with mp3tag avoids the problem, but iTunes ought to sort it out automatically.

I've since bought an Android phone and tablet and haven't looked back. However, I do find myself hankering after an iPad Air for some strange reason. Must resist!

Yeah, I've configured some iphone/ipads and itunes is one the worst software I've ever seen. Back in 2004 nokia suite was already capable to automatically convert a lot of files for nokia mobiles, ten years later with itunes you have to convert everything before feeding it to iphone/ipads. Basically iphone/ipads are "trojan horses" to push itunes sales. If you buy everything on the store everything will be fine but if you want to store your own media on these devices things will get REALLY complicated for the average user (and remember, the "average user" is not even capable of using a simple software like "format factory"

... and yes, apple's devices are totally terrific in terms of design. Golden cages...

i liked the first iphone (at the time), I enjoyed Cydia. Good times. That being said I LOVE my Note 3. Best phone I've ever had.

Same here, loved the original iPhone and the whole geohot thing :)

Much prefer my droid now, Note 3 here too.

Oh geesh. I must have blocked iTunes out of my memory due to trauma. It was completely unnecessary. and why did I HAVE to install quick time too? And bonjour? No mas.

Forgot to mention, in all the time I've had it installed I've only bought 2 albums via iTunes. One was a digital only release that I could have got from Amazon, the other was out of print on CD and I effectively got it for free as I got a £10 iTunes voucher for £5 via a special offer, but I've since found it on eBay so needn't have bothered downloading it. I might listen to the new U2 album at some point though.

I don't think I'm a dummy. I've been using Apple products for years and years. They just work. Never have issues. I've got better things to do with my time than to mess around with my phone not working. I had switched to a Samsung Galaxy S4 at one point, but it just couldn't hold a candle to the reliability of my iPhone.

itunes

:bawling: It's F'in horrid!

I had a ipod way back I eventually donated to my lil' sis when I got a smartphone. I immediately downloaded some free program to circumvent itunes altogether. I hated the whole program and the way to add music to your device. Also, why the heel does it give mp3 files random titles and put them a few folders down as hidden files....... user friendly... as long as you're not wanting to do anymore than your mother's capable of.... omg

Apologies, you're quite right, there are many how just want it to work.

I had also forgotten about iTunes, now there's something that's not user friendly. My mate has a iPod and he's going to have to move all the music to his new PC soon; that's going to be the worst part of the PC build.

I must admit the 6 looks pretty sexy.

Hopefully they keep adding more memory to them as we will need it to house the terrible music by no longer relevant bands they will force feed us.....lol...

Just kidding....I've been an android user from day one.

I always look down on people who purchase stuff as a status symbol. I think they are terrible, self centered and selfish people in need of attention.

Having said that, and being someone who hates Apple products (I have 2 - don't ask), I wouldn't mind an Apple version of Hyperspin. Would have saved me a year of my life that I spent configuring this thing.
