It looks like Plex is now a player in the gaming front end race: https://www.plex.tv/arcade/ I’ve been using Plex about as long as HyperSpin and always thought it’d be a great platform for running retro games. Did not see this ever happening though. It definitely doesn’t have the eye candy of HyperSpin or Big Box, but the fact it uses libretro cores to launch adds a lot of extra functionality from within the frontend (I’ve never understood why other frontends don’t use libretro cores to bypass the whole extra layer of an ahk powered launcher). The ability to stream games is an intriguing feature too. Would love to see HyperSpin take this approach with futur…

Have any of our members been following the new GPU launches lately? I've been saving up for a new GPU for a year and am currently using an MSI 660ti in my main rig which I borrowed from my cab. Luckily I am playing older games like The Witcher 3 but can only play it on low settings at 1440P. It still looks great and just about manages a playable fps of 30. So has anyone managed to get an nVidia 3000 series or AMD 6000 series GPU? I find that I'm caught up in the hype and it's really frustrating to not get one, but I know I need to wait. Cheers

So I found this one out by accident. This core is not even available via the 'Core Updater' in RetroArch yet, but nevertheless, the changes have been implemented, and if you don't feel like waiting, I compiled the core myself. 64 bit only. I think if you need 32 bit, you can get it from the github page already compiled. Also for RocketLauncher users, the 'Change Disc' feature in Pause WILL work, with modification to your RetroArch module, and a couple of caveats: 1. Sega CD+32X games still require the PicoDrive core, and if you alter your module to create m3u files so that you can swap discs, it will cause problems since PicoDrive does not use m3u files. The wo…

A self-hosted web app to browse your wheels in a more convenient way than launching HS. Useful to quickly check medias or showcasing your HS anywhere. So i was playing around with final fight in MAME after i launched it. Im not sure what button i pressed but it put the game in test mode. Now i cant get out of test mode for the life of me so the game will not launch. can anyone help??

Looking for some help on my new arcade setup. I have the Ultimarc Ipac Ultimate, all buttons and trackball are RGB. Everything works (intro animation, animation when selecting a game in Hyperspin, exit from Hyperspin), except when I start a game - none of the buttons light up. No buttong lights - all are off. If I exit the game, go back to hypersin, the FE animation starts up again. I've followed about every instructions I can find. I have the colors.ini, mame.xml (generated using command line via LEDBlinky support, etc.) Nothing I'm doing seems to be solving the problem. Any help is appreciated.

There's a LOT of threads around here where people ask if they can use HyperSpin with XXX processor or XXX video. Go ahead, try a search- there's tons of these questions. There are many reasons for this. One being that there's no 'official' list of minimum PC specs for HyperSpin. Another being that, even if there were, every emulator has different requirements. Yet another being that a BYOAC is usually a budget project and our wives/girlfriends don't understand why we need $2k to build a video game machine to play Pac-Man, and for some reason "because" isn't a good enough reason. Hi to all! I changed the Mame Roms that doesn’t run to clones that do. After changing the xml to the clone names the artwork has disappeared. I tried to fill in the „is clone of“ part of the xml but no change. Do I have to Change all rom names for the artwork to show up or is there a better way? Hi guys! At the time I go through all Systems on my cabinet and check if everything works. After getting commodore Amiga to let me bind Keys to my ultimarc ipac2 and use the same keys to be typed in Games I wonder if the same thing is possible for winvice/commodore 64. What I mean is to let’s say bind the key H as Joystick Up on my ipac and bind my regular keyboard H to type an H in a game. Now all the keys that are used for the joysticks can’t be typed in a game because they work in both cases (ipac/keyboard) as joystick input. Hello mates. I know it is a question about Retroarch but I hope to find some Hyperspiners who have a similar setup like me... I connected my computer via HDMI to a 65 inch TV so that i can play on pc and friends can follow on TV. When i use the TV as a second screen that is NEXT TO my pc screen, the games are shown finde on my pc screen. When i duplicate my PC screen on the TV, the aspect ratio doesnt work anymore. Dolphin emulator works fine but retroarch seems to make a huge screen so that I only see the upper left part (about 25%) of the whole screen incl. the bezel.
