Well after the posts I read about with Upchurch involved I liked to read about how people would like to have something else to watch with updates etc or news on HS releases/updates. To start with I was thinking of doing a from the very start... Hyperspin setup... warts and all. By no means am I an expert at setting anything up. In fact most of my setups have been either blind luck or much help taken from these here forums. Thats what makes this so interesting. I know the basics and maybe a lil more with some systems, but it could help bind all the guides etc together and could be a little fun. I already have a working version which Im more than happy with. So I …

this is a brillaint way to make a ps3 control or ps4 gamepad fuction like a xbox 360 gamepad. I was at a point that i was gonna give up and buy another 360 pad cause my ps3 analog triggers stopped fuctioning i thought to myself if its not working on pc then it must be broken completely. For the ps3 console, However i was a sucker for it i tried it on the ps3 and to my suprise it fuctioned nicely still on the ps3 console. Dont you just hate it when a ps3 control has trouble finding the right driver etc and fuctioning wrong it may be the case you need a a driver and app for it well not anymore. Sometimes you see the middle triggers on the analog arent fuctioning but wor…

Well as the tile says. I was a big user of the K400 as many other people with HTPC or cab builds. Its small and does the job verywell. Hwever after setting up an XMBC unit for my pops hedidnt want to spend much. I took a chance on a cheaper build. A Slim Rii and to be honest I was more than happy with it. Its even smaller but has all the functionality... best of all, half the price. Also no need for bats as it charges from the USB Thought I would just share as if i do need another this will be my new choice. heres what Im talking about.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Slim-Rii-K12-2-4G-Wireless-Mini-Keyboard-w-Touchpad-For-Laptop-PC-TV-Box-PS3-/331321751213?pt=UK_Co…

Having played pc games released in the last 12 months using a regular arcade stick and 7 buttons, then upgrading to a wireless 360 pad this weekend, I can honestly say an arcade stick/button combo just will not cut it. I read the threads regarding controls and modern games and discarded them thinking I'll get by just fine, I was wrong, this is why companies spend thousands if not millions designing control pads. Sure I managed to play the games but it just wasn't fluid, today is the first time I really enjoyed playing these games. If you want to play modern console/pc games don't waste your time configuring your controls or key maps, either play them as they were meant to…

I have too much awesome. It has become a chore to scroll through all of that awesome, so I sort of want to do a second install of hyperspin using bare bones art and themes, etc, for personal use (I play snes and 64 more than anything else) and keep my grand install for continued dazzling of the uninitiated and for times when I just want to scroll. Anyway, I'll probably start this weekend, but I'm concerned that these two installs might conflict in ways? I'll certainly be using the same emulators and the same roms, but if I have two Hyperspin installs on the same drive, will changing Hyperlaunch settings in one mess with the settings of the other, for example? Is there any…

Another forum that I am a member of has a "Buy me a beer" button underneath certain members profile pictures. I think this would be a great idea for this forum as there are some members who contribute a great deal, gigapig, djvj, raine, bleazy, thk and more that slip my mind at the moment. Nobody is going to get rich from this and nobody is expecting you to gift thousands, I just thought it would be good to show these guys we appreciate what they do. Again I apologise to those members I missed out. The only problem I see is selecting which members get the badge, still that's not for me to decide so

I was kneeling on the floor ,sitting on my feet, designing the side of my bartop arcade in the garage. .....i must have been there for a while because unbeknownst to me my foot fell asleep. I went to get up and did not realize this fact and my foot folded under me.....i went down like a ton of bricks... So now I am sitting here with an ice pack on a swollen ankle with my wife shaking her head.....to make matters worse, we are starting our busy season in the oil fields and I can't not go in... .it's going to be a rough day tomorrow. .. Lol.....smh.

So I picked up an old pole position hi\low shifter from a local arcade repair shop today. I'm wondering if any of you have set it up like this, and if this idea would work. The old pole postion shifter had one microswitch. low was off and hi was on. MAME is currently set up for 1 button to control the shifting. (press once for hi, once again for low). So my one switch has two connectors (besides ground). Normally Open and Normally Closed. What if I wired each one to the same input on a keyboard encoder? For example, since low is off, the Normally Closed connection would send a signal down the line (good question: is it momentary or sustained?). Hi is on so Normal…

Hey guys! I'm not always posting on here or contributing, but I try to when I can. Whenever life gets in the way, Hyperspin takes a back seat. I've been on this forum for 4 years now and it really feels like home to me. Thanks everyone on this forum for being super friendly, passionate, and making amazing contributions to the archival of video games! Thought I'd share with you the arcade I've put together in my house: In these photos we are actually filming a video for an IndieGoGo campaign (like Kickstarter) to raise donations for me to open an Arcade Bar here in Indianapolis! If this takes off, I'll be working my dream job and I owe it all to this crazy collection o…

So a long long time ago I was a regular member here creating a ton of themes and stuff. I then got married had kids, you know how it goes. Anyways I had a few hours to myself and decided to create an app designed to find deals for gamers. The app is now finished and available on the google play store (soon the Apple Store). You guys can snag the app at my website - www.brokegamerapp.com I have a section dedicated to retro games on the cheap on the app, and the first deal is of course Hyperspin. Anything to help it grow. So please download my app (I need users darnit, its new), and check it out and tell me what ya think. Thanks again all Scrapple Broke Gamer
