chriz99
here is a short vid of the ledstrips in action (@ 50% load). it's very hard to catch the effect... it's awesome when you play a game and see the lights flashing under the cabinet. lettuce
Chriz so what is the correct way to wire up the shaker if your powering it via 12v..... Also is there a diagram to wiring the wiper motor, i have a daihatsu one like yours chriz
chriz99
yes, the left diagram is correct for 12vdc shaker and wipermotor use. but I would recommend for the shaker the new pwm dual bridge, so you can change the intensity (0-12vdc) directly via ledwiz. grimwasere
well as i went into this like a bull at a gate and not knowing anything about electrics and totally different supplys in the uk (at the right price),i decided to totally fry my led wiz all was good till the contactors and the wiper motor which i probably shouldnt have connected direct, the wiper motor didnt seem to have enough power to run through the ledwiz so i had a 24v bank for the contactors so in my wisdom tried the negative through that but forgot to move the pos off the 12v power and hey presto a lovely burning smell,so a lot more research and a long time wait while i order another ledwiz from the great usa then get ripped off by tax and royal mail handling fee. so now i will ask the electrical wizzards among you for a bit of guidance i have bank 1 5v buttons bank 2 12v rgb lights motors and strobe bank 3 12v rgb lights motors and strobe bank 4 24v contactors Q1 what diode would i need for 24v contactors Q2 what relays would i need for 24v contactors Q3any idea why wiper motor wont work through 12v on led wiz Q4 what size fuses would be needed for the 12v and 24v supplys 12v is a standalone pc supply output 24v 4.1a dc pc supply is a 280w any help would be great so i dont blow everything up again and ive lost all my lights now so mm wont be quite so exciting
chriz99
hey grimwasere, for your 24vdc contactors you can also use the 1N4007 diode. I think you can wire your 24vdc contactors (sirius siemens) directly to your ledwiz, because the current should be under 500mA. to be 100% sure, simply measure with an multimeter the ampere of your 24vdc contactor before wiring it to the ledwiz. for a wiper motor you need definitively a seperate relay. you can not wire the wiper motor directly to ledwiz, because the current is over 500mA. check out the cheap blue "finder" standard relays on wolfsoft.de shop I use an 4A fuse to secure my ledwiz psu. someone tried also 8A. grimwasere
nice 1 chriz you are a great help to everyone on this board i was trying to get the relays in the uk but didnt know which ones would be the right ones i got my rgbs from here http://www.rapidonline.com/searchresults.aspx?mode=b&kw=&manu=Finder&resultsperpage=40 and was hoping to find the relays there as the postage to wolfsoft would be a lot cheers eric

lettuce
I got the Dual H-Bridge for Shaker from klaus today, along with the rgb flippers. whats the correct way to wire up the Dual H-Bridge , is there a wire diagram for it?

lettuce
Cheers chriz, so no relay is need then if using the Dual H Bridge?? I got a pre-wired led-wiz from klaus but noticed that the brown wire on the diagram below goes to 2 points on the led-wiz the one klaus did for me only comes from the chip and not to another point, any ideas on that? check this out, lettuce:
chriz99
the brown wire is soldered to the chip and goes directly to the dual-h-bridge... its not so clear on the pic. you need no extra relay when you use the dual-h-bridge for the shaker. lettuce
Nice cheers chris. I also got the rgb flipper buttons, so these only need 1 side wired up as i noticed theres to sets of wires either side? Do these need a diode fitted also, as i notice klaus has included some of them in with my order??
chriz99
simply use the longer wires for your connection. you can connect them directly without resistor to your ledwiz, because they are built for 12vdc use.
lettuce
Excellent stuff, guess i know what im doing tonight!!! Last thing how do i control the intensity of the shaker motor with the Dual H bridge then?
chriz99
simply control the intensity via ledcontrol.ini (on output 12), for example S23 1000 I20/W77 500 I35 S23 is active for 1 second with intensity 20 and W77 is 500ms active with intensity 35. you can choose intensity from 0 to 48 (max). have fun! lettuce
Cool chriz, what tables have you added the shaker to??
chriz99
shaker is active on nearly every table with different intensities, for example... theatre of magic (rotation box & magna-save magnet & box magnet) indiana jones (ramp plane/maschinegun & idol rotation & path of adventure) attack from mars (ufo shake & bank motor & martian attack) cactus canyon (duell & hitting bad guy) twilight zone (gumball machine & magnets) addams family (bookshelf & thing) funhouse (rudy direct hit & rudys hideout) roadshow (original shaker table) ................ these "custom shaker mods" are so awesome and not available on the real machines. maxxsinner
made a resistor block for the cree leds. for better cooling Chris, I noticed you have only 10 resistors in this pic? Shouldn't there be a resistor for each LED? i.e 4 per Cree LED?
chriz99
I use a real strobe now instead the white leds of the cree, so I installed only RGB of the cree.
