Numiah Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I'm sure PixelMagic would love that tour too Without having a clue where in Europe the Virtual Pincab Master lives, you could still count me in. **Each pinball machine is a tiny universe... that we control** My Build Overview My Computer Specifications

pinballlooking Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 That is very cool looking Your attention to detail is amazing. Do you like your 2x NVIDIA GTX260 1792MB GPU overclocked cards? My Pinball Cabinet:http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15290

northvibe Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 how do you like the dropped in playfield vs your old one (on top)? Windows 7 x64 i5 2500k OC 4.4ghz nvidia GTX 470 Intel onboard video 8gb ram Crucial M4 64gb SSD
chriz99 Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 I like both versions The lowered one a bit more because of the look and feel of a real pinball machine and the possibility for playfield flashers. This kind of mounting adds also some "Illusion of depth". cheers chris [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] * taito egret 29 candy cabs * indy & star wars pachinkos 17" bartop with ledwiz rgbleds * 10" bubble bobble & galaga bartop * arm champs 2 check out hi-res backglasses * best vpin performance * ledwiz config and software
Numiah Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I am really satisfied with the result! We are too Amazing job with even more amazing eye for detail and craftsmanship. That mighty apparatus would be the eye catcher of the day when you'd display it at some pinball convention. **Each pinball machine is a tiny universe... that we control** My Build Overview My Computer Specifications
thewool Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 @thewool: this time I used cheaper "prolight RGB LEDs on star" for the flashers. No need for ultrabright crees due to the extra playfield flasherbar. I regulated the 150/350mA simply via resistors. That's interesting... so for your strobe XM-Ls, have you wired them in parallel to what was your single stroboscope input on the LEDwiz? Or to several LEDwiz outputs and set the software so they are all triggered together? I'm keen to know what sort of resistor you used to achieve the dersired 'strobe thrust' I'm just at the stage to wire my 5 x MC-Es in now and like the sound of your strobe array, not sure if it would fit all on one LEDwiz Can't stop looking at that artwork by the way... it's delicious.
chriz99 Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 I wired 2 sets of 3 XM-L in a series (total 6 XM-L), so I can power them with 12VDC via a small constant current power board. I use only 1 ledwiz output for all strobes. This ledwiz output simply switches an opto-relay, and the opto-relay switches the XM-L and the mini playfield strobe LEDs. cheers chris [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] * taito egret 29 candy cabs * indy & star wars pachinkos 17" bartop with ledwiz rgbleds * 10" bubble bobble & galaga bartop * arm champs 2 check out hi-res backglasses * best vpin performance * ledwiz config and software
Guest gstav Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Lookin' great there dr.Chriz! 10 out of 5 turdies!
thewool Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Thanks Chris - I get it, a separate board supplies the power, and the trigger comes from the LEDwiz via a relay... I'm not going to control my buttons with LEDwiz so will have spare outputs.... so might try running 5 MC-Es and 4 XM-Ls through the LEDwiz. May I ask how many milliamps you are running through your main strobes? Thanks :)
chriz99 Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 I have taken a short video of the cab... enjoy the cool BBB music in the background 3s8z6fUnbgQ @thewool: I think you have to go the relay-route, because 1 XM-L need up to 3000mA. cheers chris [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] * taito egret 29 candy cabs * indy & star wars pachinkos 17" bartop with ledwiz rgbleds * 10" bubble bobble & galaga bartop * arm champs 2 check out hi-res backglasses * best vpin performance * ledwiz config and software
Pinball999 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Hi there, Congratulations from a real fan. The vinyls on the box are really amazing, and I believe I can say that you just set a new limit for everyone of us. Now I'm just afraid to start building mine
thewool Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 That video is pincab porn!! Stupid me forgot about the 500ma limit, doh!
BadBoyBill Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 This is the greatest accomplishment of your whole life, it would be mine if I built it.
chriz99 Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Hey guys, thank you so much for your kind compliments. I really appreciate it! At the moment I am configuring all the software, tables and mediapacks Did short vids in the meantime of some cabinet details, like my "magnetic coinbox" , the pc/component drawer, backbox service door and some stuff on the bottom side of the cab. jzJBQxQu05g cheers chris [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] * taito egret 29 candy cabs * indy & star wars pachinkos 17" bartop with ledwiz rgbleds * 10" bubble bobble & galaga bartop * arm champs 2 check out hi-res backglasses * best vpin performance * ledwiz config and software

thewool Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Chris, have you had a chance to test your new PF surround sound yet? I had a thought... How cool would it be to separate the Pinmame emulation from the VP effects. You could then run a separate sound card for each output, emitting the VP effects from speakers under the PF, and Pinmame effects solely from the backbox. There is a program called Indievolume which allows you to separate sounds from different exe's and output them to a specific installed soundcard. But I tested it and unfortunately it doesn't recognise Pinmame as a separate program, probably because it is a dll
thewool Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 edit: checked VPF and found the same suggestion by 007, might be worth posting here if you think it's a good idea to at least bring it to the dev's attention: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=13549&st=0&gopid=135612entry135612
chriz99 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 yes, I tested it already. It's an inexpensive and easy way to improve the weak pinball sound. gives a nice effect when you hear the sound also from the cabinets body. IMO you don't need to split the sound. simply run it parallel (stereo upmix), so you have pinmame AND visualpinball sounds from the backbox and from the body. cheers chris [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] * taito egret 29 candy cabs * indy & star wars pachinkos 17" bartop with ledwiz rgbleds * 10" bubble bobble & galaga bartop * arm champs 2 check out hi-res backglasses * best vpin performance * ledwiz config and software
