chriz99
thanks gbeef I am a big fan of multicolor LCD DMDs, but I felt in love with the real DMD - the real glowing effects are just awesome.
Gigagamesguy
here is an "easy diagram" for T6 strobe wiring, maybe we can use it for pinball101 Woher wissen die 3strobos wieviel mah sie nehmen dürfen die sind ja durch Wiederstände nicht begrenzt, habe das genauso gebaut läuft alles auf 12 Volt
maxxsinner
Woher wissen die 3strobos wieviel mah sie nehmen dürfen die sind ja durch Wiederstände nicht begrenzt, habe das genauso gebaut läuft alles auf 12 VoltHow do the 3strobos how much they can take mah are not limited by resistors, which have just built everything runs on 12 volts Die Art und Weise Chris seine verdrahtet hat hier GGG ist in Serie. Jede LED hat eine 3,6-Volt-Abfall über sie Approximatley und der Konstantstrom-Treiber schützt vor Überlastung. Sicher, ohne Widerstände zu verwenden. The way Chris has wired his here GGG is in series. Each LED has approximatley a 3.6 volt drop across it and the constant current driver protects it from overload. Safe to use without resistors. njay
Hi Chris, i just got my DMD plasma 12v from vishay , and mameman is currently designing my dmd speaker panel, but how do you mount the dmd? just screw it on the back? do you need spacers etc? can you post a pic of yours plz? thx
chriz99
I have an orignal Williams Speakerpanel, so I used the original mounting holes. I think you need some (plastic)spacers on a diy speakerpanel, like pcb spacers/holders.
Captain Canuck
Hi, first time poster. LOVE your work Chris, I am hoping to make something similar to this cabinet size-wise. Was wondering if you were able to fold down the backbox when you had the monitor as your DMD? I see you have the real pinball hinges on there but maybe those were just for realism. Thanks! chriz99
hey captain canuck yes, you can fold down the backbox, like a real pinball machine. makes it easier to transport.
Captain Canuck
Ah that's good, I would like to be able to fold that down after I finish the machine and move it inside. I thought maybe the DMD monitor sticking down into the main cabinet might stop it from folding. But I guess it just sticks through by a few inches with that monitor you used? mameman
CC, a 15.6" screen like we use is contained in the backbox behind the Dmd panel no need to drop in down into the main cab like you may have to with a 17 or
Captain Canuck
Ah thanks, didn't realize that. Tried to find a picture of it in the backbox but couldn't. I see Best Buy up here has a 15.6" widesceen which must be the same. I will check out you projects next, thanks MM.
mattdavis
The BestBuy Dynex 15.5" (or so) I purchased has the advantage of auto-starting when AC is turned on (my 32" dynex does as well). -Matt
Captain Canuck
Thanks Matt, good to know. Was just going to order one of the 15.6" monitors and I noticed in the description that it's a USB powered and doesn't even need a VGA cable. Never heard of this, are you guys using those features? Or maybe this is not the same monitor.. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/aoc-aoc-15-6-widescreen-led-monitor-e1649fwu-e1649fwu/10191474.aspx?path=026070833be4c6b7606880fe155f8295en02
luvthatapex
No, you need the VGA cable with this monitor.
MTPPC
AOC 15.6" Widescreen LED Monitor (E1649FWU) This portable 15.6-inch widescreen LED-backlit display is the ideal laptop accessory. Add real estate easily with the elegant, ultra-thin AOC E1649FWU. It requires no external power source or VGA cable, because it draws power from your computer's USB plug (which also delivers the video feed). Pivot the built-in stand from portrait to landscape mode to optimize viewability for applications.

Ton
Hello Chris, First compliments with your Big Bang Pin. It sure did inspire me to build a pin cab too! Question: what did you use as fingerguards for the three 220mm Akasa fans. I can see you mounted them on the outside over the Akasa fans.
