jhlerner Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Question, anybody know of a good grill that would fit the vishay?
DeeGor Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 PM Mameman. He can make a custom grill to fit the vishay perfectly with his CNC.
kronic24601 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 so ... the dmd and usb device or bundled somewhere? I see the dmd for sale on pinball life, but not the usb device? I'm in the US, should I get these things separate or bundled together somewhere? thanks! My Evil Arcade Monkey shakes when ever I'm having arcade problems ... notice how he is always shaking
H4CK3R Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 pm Russ, Don't buy the DMD from Pinball Life... Doesn't work with 12 Volt or 5 Volt. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I'm what you call an Expert....Don't try this at home!
russdx Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 i only supply the pinDMD board not the display, what display you get is up to you but id stay away from the plasma range as they need nasty voltages to work. you are much better off using the LED vishay range as they run off just 5v. more info at www.pindmd.com

I found them previously at Future Electronics, but they don't show up anymore.
JaronSenna Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I can find them by searching the site for "LEE-" (the prefix for those products if I am not mistaken): http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/Search.aspx?dsNav=Ntk:PartNumberSearch%7cLEE%2f-%7c1%7c,Ny:True,Nea:True my pincab build thread
kronic24601 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 They don't have any in-stock, but you can still order them. I just placed an order a few weeks ago. It's going to take like 2-3 months to arrive ... so that's a concern ... but I'm not in a rush as I have a #!@# load of other projects I'm working on. Mysterioii Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Help a noob out please, on the top two on that page I can see that one is orange and one is red. What's the real difference with the bottom two? It shows less info there. I've never been a huge pinball fan but the table projects I've been seeing are getting me interested, it would be a great companion for an arcade cabinet. So I take it the orange DMD's are considered preferred/more authentic? Is it really worth the ~$100 difference?

Mysterioii Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Just an issue of authenticity or is there any element of improved visibility or brightness or anything?
Zablon Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Orange ones that have been for sale are brighter then the red and the red ones are segmented into sections and are not all lined up perfect (at least I've seen some that aren't). There are 2 models for each (orange and red) that have different brightnesses. When researching it seemed the Orange were the bright variety and the red were the dimmer variety so the combination of differences might explain the large price difference.
