I've looked around and made sure that this isn't a thing that can already be done, but excuse me if there's some way you can actually do this in HyperSpin. Right now in HyperSpin you have a per-system option to either show info for all games (as in the Genre, Year, Manufacturer, Title shown in the lower left by default) via "remove_info_text". For games using the systems Default theme, this is completely fine -space wise- but more often than not, themes makers will try to stuff lots of art into a space that is restricted by text that - to be honest - is useless when a theme exists for the game, given that themes usually exhibit the title of the game and/or the manufactu…

If there was a way to do this, that would be awesome. I've got a really cool idea for an After Effects composition to display controller configuration at system launch. It would be highly customizable across platforms and would maintain the flashy, "in your face" atmosphere of hyperspin. If this was possible, I'd love to share the project file with the community once I'm done. Thanks.

Can I put in a request to be able to control the Artwork Exit Transitions? We can control how they enter the screen but when you change the game/emulator you can't control how the artwork exits the screen. It seems pretty randonm how it does so too... Watch the marquee artwork in the botton right of the screen:

Hi, There is one feature that is missing for me in Hyperspin, it's the possibility to have an endless scrolling (like old amiga games for the background and eventually for the artworks. It could go to the left/right, up/down, diagonals, etc.... Hypertheme is very cool and easy to use, congratz to the creators...

I previously posted about this in the support forum; yet to get any response. I was wondering, if possible, for an option to boot a random game, or a game of choice, on start up rather than only to the menu wheel. This tiny little pet peeve is about the only thing keeping me from abandoning my custom MALA interface for a nice Hyperspin one. I personally like turning on my cabinet straight into a game rather than a menu. It just has a certain feel to me, like I own an authentic old machine. Also, when the machine is not being played, I prefer to leave it sitting there running with any actual game in its "Insert Coin" attract mode rather than a menu. Sitting down watc…

Please add a function to run multiple emulators for each console. Suppose you start the game there is a window with a selection of the emulator, the version and configure the emulator.

One feature I like about GameEx is that you can type in, for example, double dragon, hit enter, and it will show you a list of every game you have from multiple systems that has "double dragon" in the title. "Search" could be an option in the main wheel.

I was thinking about how much of a pain it is to re-name your roms to match your media, or vise versa based on the popular standards out there when I started to think... why? Why do it at all? What about adding a line to the database xml... <alternate##> - sorta similar to clone but wouldn't report a game as a clone of. Simple. You can add as many <alternate> names as you want and it will search for them in order if it doesn't find the first file. Then people can sync artwork using preferred naming schemes but on cd based systems they can easily have their xml populated with tosec/trurip/redump/darkwater/etc. names. Utilities could easily just import altern…

I have been thinking of a feature that I would love to have within hyperspin. The ability to display different game- and hyperspin specific statistics, such as: Total installed systems in Hyperspin, total number of games and games in each system system, total time played and time played per specific game and so forth.. I could come up with hundreds of different informations that would be interesting to friends and yourself. This might be possible with third-party software and I would have loved to make this myself to share, but my programming capabilities are very limited. Although if this would become and official hyperspin feature or third-party software I have a lot…

Here is the idea: Rather than limiting ourselves to loading a single theme, video, or piece of background music, how about allowing the creation of another folder in these same locations that would follow the games naming convention. You could then place whatever media therein and have HyperSpin pick something at random. This idea actually came to me while working on background audio for Battlefield Vietnam. I put together a special soundtrack that plays in-game consisting of classic anti-war rock from the era and as it is now; I have to pick only one despite having dozens of iconic tracks to choose from. I also have to manually go in and change it up every now and t…
