SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Its a hard one, its been done time and time again, but I need some help. Its a mixed wheel with the best of every game on all systems. Its hard to do as I have so many faves but lets here your top 5, then if I aint played it I can take a look and see. I have my faves but I play safe with my games. Be nice to see if anyones got any hidden gems? Heres my top 5: 5- Sensible soccer 4- Halo 1 3- Metal Gear Series (NOT DISC 2 on MG2) 2- Half Life series 1- Shemnue I A mixed bag I know and 2 football games. Thing is growing up as a kid if I wasnt playing football I was... well playing it. I never play it alone though, it HAS to be with a friend, otherwise its pointless. I love first person shooters, esp when they have a great story. Half life has that to the max... same with Halo. I remember playing half life 1 for the first time... WOW... you dont know if your doing things right and the story just grips you. Team that with some of the best AI from the Marines and it turns this into a classic! I spent 3 weeks wages on my Dreamcast and ate beans for almost a month to own this system. If anyone can make great Arcade games its Capcom and SEGA who more or less ran that system. Great console for having a laugh with mates. But then 1 day, my mate who gets me the dodgy movies from china, (as in the UK you had to pay for internet by the min,) he game me a set of disks and said play this. I had seen pictures and stuff in mags but never really thought anything about it. Only adventure game I liked was res evil and that was due to the zombie killing. But what the hell, it was free so I sat back, booted it up and BAM!!! One of the greatest gaming moments of my life. To have an entire town, working, eating, sleeping, pick everything up. The story line had me hooked straight off with that opening... best game of my life!!! ( I hear for once the UK versions of both are the way to go due to the translation quality hehe. I pray to the god they continue the story.... I will hand in my termination notice with the army and live the rest of my days playing these games Im sure you have all seen it... but here it is again for old time sake...... FAAAAAAAAAAAAARTHUUUUUUUUUR!!!!!!!! So come on... lets have yours? Simply Austin's YouTube
gigapig Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 That is a tricky question, the 5th one I struggled on, my memory is pretty bad. 5. Wipeout (PS1) 4. Goldeneye (N64) 3. Bioshock (PC) 2. Dark Souls (PC) 1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl (PC)
BiLbOBaggins Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Tough to choose but off the top off my mind it would have to go.. 1. Return to Castle Wolfenstein [PC version from 2001 where the multiplayer was amazing and it still is] 2. Super Mario Bros. 3 [NES] 3. Metal Gear Solid [Playstation 1] 4. The Legend of Zelda [NES] 5. Zelda - A link to the past [sNES] once again, tough call. So many greats! I obviously grew up on Nintendo
Nexyss Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Donkey Kong (Arcade) Legend Of Zelda (NES) Metallica (Pinball) Diablo II (PC) Super Mario Bros (NES)

HazzardActual Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 damn, this is one of those subjects that takes some serious thought. 5.Chrono Trigger - SNES 4.Earthbound - SNES 3.STALKER Call Of Pripyat - PC 2.STALKER shadow of Chernobyl - PC 1.Fallout 2 - PC There will always be a special place in my heart for SNES RPGs, some of the best stories ever written. STALKER games are the only games I will still boot up, load a random save, and have hours of play time on. It glitchy as all hell but once you get a taste of the zone, there is no world greater. except fallout.... Ah fallout. The whole world is the zone. the only game where you can kill children for throwing rocks at you. The only game where you can tell people to get fucked and they will just ignore you the rest of the game, EVEN IF ITS A MAIN STORY CHARACTER. Im sure i have over a thousand hours playing fallout 2 and theres still stuff i've never seen.
Agrajag Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Showing my age here... Not necessarily my top 5 favourites of all time, just 5 that readily spring to mind as having been played repeatedly in my youth. 5 - Jet-Pac (Sinclair Spectrum) 4 - IK+ (Atari ST) 3 - Star Wars (ST version of the arcade vector game, but SW Trilogy on Model 3 is also excellent) 2 - Split Personalities (Spectrum) 1 - Llamatron (ST) Sent from my phone using Tapatalk, probably while at work... Fromlostdays Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 #1 Silent Hill 3. Of course, as the savvy can probably tell from my name. I'm such a fanboy I liked all of them, even the really bad ones. #2 Super Metroid. Everything about that game is gorgeous, but especially the music. I used to spend hours and hours just exploring, looking for secrets. And let's face it, it's one of the best lead-up to final boss fights ever. When you blasted Mother Brain, that shit was personal. #3 Chrono Cross. Chrono Trigger was an amazing game but not on my list, probably a timing issue, as I played the latter first. One of the few games that made me cry. #4 The Last Remnant. People gave this game a lot of guff, but what it meant for me was the last good RPG that I played the entire way through kind of lost. It was so off-formula that I never really did understand the dynamics, but it kept me playing regardless. It was a game that broke my video game jadedness, and I had tons of fun. #5 It was a rough toss up between Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, but I think Ocarina wins. There was an element of immersion to it, and like Mario 64 it represented in my opinions Nintendo's best and most seamless adaptations of games to new technology. Walter:beerglass:

dark13 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 SSS - Mario 64. Yeah, it deserve a better position than number 1. The rest of n64's library sucks (I don't like zelda) and games were overprized but owning a n64 totally made sense for this single game. 1 - Final fantasy 7 (ps1): innovative graphic (for the time, it really need a reboot considering "WHAT" is happening to FF) and one of the best RPG story ever 2 - Archoon (C64): Best PVP ever, period. And yeah, pc's remake sucks badly... 3 - Street fighter 2 (snes and arcade): Considering the whole serie it would probably jump to position n1 4 - Ghost and goblins (arcade): A knight running in panties into a cemetery kicking zombie's ass to just pick up a nurse. Can you imagine a better game in the 80's? 5 - Daytona USA (arcade): Sega re-released it as "sega racing classic" in 2004. In the arcade world I guess this REALLY MEANS something... boohiss Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 5. Halo 3 4. Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past 3. Super Mario RPG 2. Fallout 3 1. Secret of Mana Secret of Mana will always be #1 for me as it has so many great memories associated with it. Fallout 3 I enjoyed exploring the entire world, never even bothering with fast travel. Super Mario RPG I played countless hours completely losing track of time on many school nights. Zelda - A Link to the Past was my favorite Zelda game by far. Halo 3 squeaks in at #5 because it's the most fun I ever had playing online with friends. And after the top 5, there's probably 100's of games in close competition.

Johnny Mazzic Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Very difficult to choose just 5 5. Prince of Persia (MS-DOS) 4. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) 3. Gran Turismo 2 (PSone) 2. Final Fantasy VII (PSone) 1. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) The Mexican Style Clan!
THK Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 5. Def Jam Fight for NY (Xbox) 4. Super Mario Wars (Modded original Xbox) 3. Super Meat Boy (PC/Xbox360) 2. Red Alert (PC) 1. Half-Life (PC) Going by what I had most fun at playing with friends and/or by myself. Not specifically what I would rate the best games I've played. I'm not that old. I've only had a modded PSX and later a original modded Xbox as consoles but most of those games haven't made a lasting impression. Not like playing SMB and Double Dragon over at my nephew. But the two xbox games mentioned were the most played games along with the burnout series over at my university house, where we always played in all kinds of intoxicated states ..........................back with a vengeance........................
