The new video game The Pinball Arcade. It will be released on PC, Mac, iOS, xbox 360, ps3, wii 3dds, vita, etc. What I find awesome is PC! And they seem to be pretty in love with pinball. I posted on their facbook about making it for cabinets. But could use some more love from the cabinet people! This seems like a much more viable application than pinball FX. As much as I would love both, Zen seems to be to busy to give a pc app at the moment. http://www.pinballarcade.com/ And guess what they have the 4 big pinball manf's. Stern, Bally, Williams and Gottlieb. Plus promised DLC in the future. I cannot find a good email address for farsight studios but their FB wall th…

Hello. I want to connect the PinDMD2 with an PinLED on my computer, but has problems with the PinDMD Driver. Because Win7 automatically installed its own drivers for the PinDMD. And now, I cant tell Win7 to use my own driver, because "the installed driver is the actual one". I don´t have the place in my computer to put in a USB 2.0 card. No free connector. Only a PCI x1 connector (this small one). I tried to do some tricks to install the correct driver, and at the end the computer accepted it. But isnt still working, and after re-connect, it tells me again "unknown component". I am also wondering, that the PinLED Shows nothing, after I connected the 5V power…

This app allows you to take your image and prepare it for use on a Real DMD using Russ's dmd board. Read below for features and how to use. Go to this page: Link Click the browse button to load an image from your computer, image must be 128 x 32. The program doesn't resize your images so you can use the resampling filters of your choice in programs like photoshop. Don't worry about the colors. The top image is the original, the bottom is a converted image to the proper colors. The upper sliders adjust hue, saturation, brightness and contrast, changing these settings in your image can affect the output. The lower sliders adjust the thresholds of what colors in …

Hi guys!!! I'm new to the world of pinball builds, but I do have experience of cabinet builds using Mame. I feel this is a "step up" so to speak as there is more stuff to get to grips with. I generally build mini cabs as I don't have room for full size items. So my pinball planning right now is for a reduced sized cabinet. Anyway enough waffling! I'm in the early stages of planning right now and I see that some people have 4 flipper buttons and others use only 2. Is there a definite advantage to having 4? Will I miss out on any awesome tables if I just use 2? If I can get away with 2 and still have 99% of the tables available then I'll go that route as it is a smaller…

Hello. Can get the following Siemens contactors very cheap: 3RT1016-1BB42 The type number is nearly the same, as the ones, that have been used by many cab owners. They are 24 V, which doesnt matter for me, because I have a 24V supply. But will the sound of them be ok? And are they fast enough? Does anybody know? Would be really fine if somebody can tell and help me, as they are really cheap. Thank you, HP

Hi, I have a hyperpin cabinet in the works and I want to add some basic force feedback, the flippers, to start off with. I have been reading up on adding contactors withou investing in the ledwiz yet. I have the diagram for hooking up the contactor to the flipper button and i-pac, but I am interested in adding the optocoupler circuit. Does anyone have a parts list and schematic? I see it involves a CNY 17-4 optocoupler but I am not clear on the protection diode or led. What part number for the diode and is the led really needed? Thanks

These will be the most bad ass tables a pin cab has seen. The developers are redoing everything from the ground up. The best part- they are optimizing them for cabinets. They are doing a kickstarter to get it out quicker. Here is what they said about cabs, and look at the bottom of the Kickstarter for a little tease. Portrait view support including a special view optimized for cabinets Full support for cabinets, including second display for the DMD Beautiful photo realistic graphics at insane resolutions Control over the ambient light level - play in the dark with awesome ultra dynamic lighting effects They even have a mode to take the virtual glass off to move t…

For those that may be interested, I have compiled a version of Visual Pinball that includes basic gamepad mapping and (what should be) support for just about any gamepad. It uses the X/Y axes for nudging (if available) and has the ability to assign any of the Z//rX/rY/rZ/Slider to the plunger input, including the X or Y axis, although this disables any analog nudging. Providing no issues are found with my modification of the code, it will be added to VP source so it will be found in all future versions as well. Hi, i need to be clear on something Are all dmd sizes the same? What i really need to know are they all the same aspect ratio? The Vishay DMD has Viewing Area: 12.75" [323.8 mm] (W) x 3.15" [80.01 mm] (H) Because this is such a popular dmd i use this as a guide. i have a 9 inch 16:9 ratio lcd for a small cabinet. It has a Active area 198.000(W) mm × 111.696(H) mm so to make a hole with the correct dmd ratio i need to make one 198mm (W) x 50mm (H) right? Thank you

After months of development, I more than happy to announce the DirectOutput framework for virtual pinball cabinets. Since I did not like the limitations (not enough outputs) and problems (stuttering) with the current ledontrol.vbs solution to control the outputs of my cabinet, I have started to implement a completely new system to control output hardware connected to virtual pinball cabinets. During the past months the project has grown quite a bit larger than expected and more and more options have been added. A lot of testing has been done by a group of alpha testers and myself as well. The result is what I call the DirectOutput framework (DOF). Since DOF has proved…

Ok I have my screenres.txt file set so that on all of the music tables and on Scarface Balls and Power my dmd appears on my third screen , exactly as I want it to. The problem is, I installed the b2s version of jp's spiderman table and when I start it the dmd is nowhere close to where it's supposed to be. I'm sure I could move it by adjusting my screenres file, but then I will be moving the dmd on my other tables. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Guys, I have been reading and reading and I have been doing pretty good. My pc intended for my cabinet is up and running in a 3 screen setup with Hyperpin and about 40 tables so far. My question is, where can I get some B2S glasses without the speaker panel? I have a few, but I am having a hard time finding near what I need, unless they have the speaker panel and that doesn't look very cool on a 3 screen setup Seriously, I need some help, pllllllease.

Hi, I am thinking about building a Hyperpin table and wondered if there are any part suppliers in the UK. I already have a Stand-up arcade machine that I built from a donor cabinet and would love a hyperpin table to go with it. Are there any plans available, or kit forms so I can build it my self. I am not so good with a saw so would prefer something precut that I can just bolt together. Many thanks

To my friends on Hyperspin! Wanted to let you know that I now have some inventory of my Low Voltage versions of my very popular Dot Matrix display. Check them out at http://www.xpinpinball.com/products/displays/XP-DMD4096LV If you are interested, make sure you select the LV versions. I made some changes with the virtual pin hobbyists in mind by providing a 4 pin PC power connector, like you would plug a disk drive into. I did this so you wouldn't have to use a custom cable connection. The XPin display is compatible with Russ Pirie's very popular pinDMD product. Keep flippin! Brett Davis XPin

OK i've decided I want to use visual pinball emu for my hyperpin setup, but right now I'm just in the testing phase because I don't really have the means to build the actual cab yet, so i was hoping to make a ready setup for when I do. My question... how realistic is this setting everything up on a sub-par laptop having it ready to go for the actual build? Do I start with VP 8 desktop tables since my laptop sucks & then simply switch over to VP cabinet tables when my build is ready. Basically I'm on Pleasuredome & not sure which romset is suitable for my situation & would hate to DL a massively wrong romset also how big should the romset be I see Visual P…

Hi Everybody, I just built my first hyperpin cab. It worked very good until yesterday. I don't know why but when I start a Visual Pinball table through hyperpin the DMD window is located underneath the actual pinball window. I can get the DMD Window to the foreground with Alt/Tab but then the Table Window is inactive and won't respond to any keypresses. Running the Tables directly in VP is no Problem. Everything is in the right order. Maybe somebody came across this strange Problem and knows a solution. Thanks for all suggestions
