On past projects I have used the same button to turn on the PC and the TV at the same time. On this particular TV this doesn't work. I would rather not use 2 power buttons if I can help it and wondered if anyone has modded an arcade push button to operate 2 microswitches, or if a double pole micro switch exists?

OK I guess I will start my build thread and see how it goes, any help or tips will be much appreciated as this is my first VirtuaPin, I have setup and built a Mame cabinet years ago. I also am a PC tech and do custom gaming rigs so the PC side of things should be simple for me, construction not so much as this is why I got an empty WB to start. Cabinet- Empty STTNG decent body Decals, head decals are shot, will be stripping and just painting black for now, may add custom or original STTNG later. I will be needing to get the hinges, coindoor, legs, speaker panel, glass, and buttons. TV's- 42" LG LED for Playfield, 28"Hannspree for Backglass (will be using 22" for setup),…

I'm just curious what glue everyone is using when building a cab? For my MAME cab I used dry wall screws and Locktites Power Grab. I now have a biscuit joiner so I was thinking of using biscuits and Gorilla WOOD Glue. I think the original GG was the kind that expands and since then they have come out with a "WOOD" glue version. I do know that for the biscuit method a water based wood glue works best. (Water based glue makes the biscuits expand). Thoughts? Z

Hello, I will maybe build myself a mini virtual pinball with a 22" or 23" table monitor. I tried a normal TN monitor I already have but it doesn't work good in portrait position. Do I need at least an IPS?

I'm working on designing my first mini cab. I have a BG monitor and some light woodworking skills. My goal is mostly to play FX2 and Pinball Arcade, but also want the option to throw on VP9. I plan on using a 360 controller and mapping the buttons to it, and using the left analog stick with plumb bob to simulate analog nudge. I feel pretty good about the plan. My thought was to just create the cabinet with monitors and controls first, and connect it to an external computer (at least for now). Has anyone else done this? I would think it would be as easy as running the cables out the back.

So, I decased my playfield monitor a couple of days ago, and I noticed that there was a ground wire attached to a metal plate that was screwed into the back of the screen (after it was decased). Should I connect the ground wire to a screw inside the cabinet, or could I just connect it to a screw directly onto the back of the screen? I just don't want to risk damaging the tv. The metal plate that it was originally attached to was touching the back of the metal on the screen. For what it's worth, it's a Vizio 37" E370VT LED-LCD.

On the left, the original 1982 Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man Pinball. To the right, the replica. Thank you to all cabinet builders for the inspiration, especially chriz99 and mameman! Playfield Cabinet The front and back corners are cut at 45 degrees, with miter splines for strength. I also used wood bracing on the inside corners under the leg brackets. The leg bracket holes were drilled at 25/64" which gave a little wiggle room to tighten fully. One problem I ran into: I cut the slots for the side rail plastic channels at 1/16" with a router and Harbor Freight slot cutter set, but after painting they weren't wide enough to hammer the rails down into, so I had to redo that…

Hello, Can someone tell me how to size the glass for my playfield and backbox? Is it using the inside dimension or outside dimension? I figure it would make more sense for me to order glass locally instead of getting it mailed. Also, playfield glass should be 3/16" tempered. How about the backbox? Thank you.

This is a new interest fro me. I've tried to search this but could find any threads. Would it be possible to use a laptop display for the DMD in a 3 monitor set up? The are brand new 15.6" LED laptop screens for sale on EBay for ~$55. Would these be suitable? What else would be needed to make it work? Seems like an inexpensive way to go. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-15-6-AU-Optronics-B156XW02-V-3-Laptop-LED-WXGA-Screen-Matte-/350592192205?_trksid=p2045573.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555001%26algo%3DPW.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D146%26meid%3D568691756
