Ok so im doin a hyperspin cab. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/12197-2-player-cab/ Im not going to buy and mount a coindoor. But im going to have a button where the coindoor would normaly be at. So i got this idea that everytime the coin button is pushed a coin sound is played. Im using joytokey so a program that sends the keypress "k" as normal and play the wav file would be great. I googled a ahk script with probebly works but it plays the windows "nono" sound, Most likely the program lack right to play files from the place its at. a work around would be to change the windows sound ofcourse. but it feels tacky.. I think this is a simple task and m…

Getting ready to drill the holes for the control panel. Does this layout look good. I got the DIY X arcade that comes with tracball and 20 buttons (2 are 1\2 player buttons). This is the backside so everthing is reveresed. Was planing on 8 buttons ( Do I really need the bottom 2?) The middle top 4 would be the inside ones right and left mouse and the outer ones 1 /2 player. and the far top ones one would be back\escape and not sure what the other one will be yet. Any suggestions on changes\ additions or does this seem ok? not sure if put everything too high too on the control panel and should lower everything a tad. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Hi, new to the forum but seems the right place to start. I want to build a virtual Pinball machine, is there any full guides out there from start to finish? I suppose I would like something ideally quite easy to build as this will be my first build. Thanks

Just about ready to start work on my control panel, right now it has a coat of primer\sealer and 4 coats of latex paint but I'm worried it will start to get damaged from repetitive playing. Is putting a piece of plexi over it a good idea? Or is there any better ideas? What size plexi also? Thanks for the input

I'm happy enough with my current Hyperspin install that it's finally time to buy the hardware to go into the cabinet. See below for the list of items I'm thinking of purchasing, would apprecaite some feedback (if I'm missing something crucial or getting the wrong type of whatever) Remember that I have an old 2nd hand cab that I'm going to gut, making my own control panel. Being based in NZ my options for buying are a bit more limited due to the cost of shipping from the US. I've found what looks to me a good place in Australia to buy from, would rather buy the lot from one place and only pay the one shipping fee. At this stage I'm aiming to build a basic …

Hi Everyone. I'm new to Hyperspin & these forums, and would like some advice. As I am building a bartop cabinet with all the bells & whistles, but what would people recomend to use a PC Motherboard setup, or a Raspberry Pi B. I have both so that's not a problem just like to know witch would be better for using with Hyperspin. Any advice and input would be greatly appreciated.;-)

Can anyone provide the dimensions of the PacLED64... or compare it to the MiniPac? It looks to be about the same size, but I have super limited space, so I want to make sure before ordering. Also, do the PacLED64 boards ever got warm/hot? I have my MiniPac velcroed to my Control Panel. I'm hoping to velcro the PacLED64 to the cabinet as well...

Hi. everyone! I have everything up and running with my custom CP. I am using a Mini-Pac Opti and have assigned most of my controls using Winipac v.2. The problem is, I cannot for the life of me figure out what I need to do in order to get the U-Trak to operate. Am I supposed to assign the U-Trak controls in Winipac? It's not clear to me how the U-Trak is supposed to be "programmed." Once the U-Trak is "programmed" or whatnot, what are the steps I need to take once I am in an actual MAME game? I am used to pressing the Tab key to configure controls, but I am pretty much lost as to how to get a game like Centipede (for example) to recognize the U-Trak. One thing…

New to the forum here so this might be a topic that has already been covered. Have a couple of questions for the gurus out here. What kind of wood do you guys use?? Want something sturdy but light weight. What thickness wood do you use? What paint is used to finish the cabinet? What kind of speakers are best? Monitor preference? I know lots of question but I want to start a build soon and just seeking the best advise. Thank you all in advance for the tips.

I just got these for my new cab from an artist that specializes in comic book art. However, his prices are cheap for my diva demands. He charged me $100 when the going rate is well above it. Since this community has done right by me, helped me impressed friends, enhanced my skills I couldn't pass up this info. Here is my graphic below. I don't want this to be an aggressive sales thread so if anyone is interested in the artist I can pass on his info by PM. Thanks all that helped me last year and hopefully this year. After an absolute age (on and off for the past year) my latest cabinet is now complete. The CoffeeCade:- CoffeeCade 01 by Andy Baker, on Flickr The Concept I wanted an arcade machine that could be placed in the house without looking too much like an arcade machine which would be used as a game encyclopaedia for nostalgia purposes rather than full on gaming. About 10 years ago I mocked up a cocktail cabinet for this but never got around to making it. Revisiting 10 years later and so much had changed so I decided to just re-design from scratch. My criteria Ability to play both Arcade and retro Console games 2 Player, want it to be a social thing Focused more t…

Hey everyone Literally just starting my research and planning for the build. I would really appreciate suggestions/opinions on a few of the key aspects of the build. I wouldn't say money is no object but I do have a figure in my head and would like to make the best machine I can with those funds. I will be building from scratch. I am looking to build a 4 player console with an LCD monitor (size and specs comments would be awesome) I'm also trying to get a good amount of peripherals/cool custom things done. ie. Working coin feeder, backlit marquee, backlit inlays would be cool (have seen a nice space invader cab inlay), trackball, gun support etc. Looking for t…

So, I was requested in another thread to show my NES PC build I run HyperSpin on. Here it is, I actually built it like 3 years ago with a Zotac mini ITX with a onboard Intel Atom processor and a onboard Nvidia GPU. I though it would work well because of the GPU, but turns out it didn't. I used it for two years and it could play everything up to PSX, but was slow like hell and had to run HS on worst quality settings. So this year I bought a candy cab and invested in a computer for it and at the same time I decided to upgrade the hardware in the NES PC. So I got a MSI motherboard, I think it's a B81 and a Intel G3258. I use a pico power supply and only onboard inte…
