Current state of the project: Main build log starts: I've not posted here for a while but I thought I'd share some of my progress on my latest project. It's a rig for racing sims. I wanted it to match the rest of the projects I now have in my games room. It's taken quite a long time to get this far and I have some way to go yet. This is a bit of a cut and paste from posts on another forum. This is what my current racing setup looks like: First job was to acquire some new equipment. I’ve gone for the Fanatec ClubSport series kit. This includes the pedal set, wheel base with detachable rims and an H-pattern/Sequential shifter. This will be configured to use…

finally gonna have time this month to get back to hyperspin and doing a project i have been planning for years now. the plan is to have the cabinet wall mounted to save space something like this: only with less sharp edges. i made a sketchup model of roughly what i want: also i ordered this kit, a trackball, and some extra buttons. i know it's a cheap chinese crap but im on a tight budget. the pc is an old i3 first gen with an r9 290 i have. i also ordered this amp so i can hook up some nice speakers. i will try to update as i go... also gonna get back to helping xALPHAxOMEGAx with he's project and im about 80% finished with the WSC cartridges.…

Ok everyone I am searching to buy a game Cabinet and Rec Room Masters is at the top of my list. I don't want a Cabinet that I gotta restore and I don't have woodworking skills. So you might say, Rec Room Masters is a no brainer. But I want to hear you impressions and thoughts All Good and All Bad. Many thanks!

Guys I know this has been spoken about before, but i`ve tried most of the suggestions i can find. I have the usual amplifier that most people use from Arcadeworld.co.uk pictured below. I think there pretty standard and i see them in various disguises with different names on. I get horrendous noise coming through my speakers, Doesn't matter where i place it. I can here the mouse moving across the screen, the hard drive noise comes through any changes in colours to the screen if i go from a dark desktop to a light one for example. Its much better with the sound on the amp turned down say to 50% and im happy with the volume at this level, thoug…

Hello everyone! I was just wondering what kind of USB encoder I should use that would make my setup easy. Right now I have an IPAC-2 keyboard encoder and it works well with MAME, but when I try to set up controls for pc games, the controls don't work. And also I can't rebind some keys on some games like SFV, MKXL, SFIV. Is there a work around to get these games to play with an IPAC or is there anything else I can do? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi, I was just wondering if someone could help me select an Amplifier & Speaker selector switch (If I need one?? not sure I don't want the option of turning each speaker down individually all at once is fine.) For the following Speaker Specifications: Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms Frequency Response: 100 - 20 kHz Power Rating (RMS/Peak): 30W / 60W Fs - Free Air Resonance: 133.5 Hz Qts: 1.22 Sensitivity (1W/1M): 85dB Sensitivity (2.83V/1M) 88dB I also have no idea how I should wire these for the best audio. I'm guessing the two speakers on the left should play audio from the left and the two speakers on the right play audio from…

So I finally have my two cabs pretty much finished up (see pics), so it bring us to the classic 'what spec PC' question, in terms of limits of where I would like to go, up to Dreamcast and Gamecube really, however I am not totally against aiming higher for a little bit of future proofing I guess. Money isn't too much of an issue, but I just don't want to spend on stuff that is not needed, quite keen to build them myself (haven't built a PC for a while). My knowledge of what is out there is pretty ancient though. From what I can gather, a half decent video card is a must, an i5 or i7 processor? 16gb or ram? SSD drive. It's been so long since I built something, just ne…

Hey guys so I was looking for help on installing ICE-T RGB Trackball without an LED Wiz board. I'm not sure on where the wires go coming off the LED board and how to attach them to anything Its a blue, red, green, and a brown, i believe the colors are for the colors of the ball and brown for ground but idk where to hook them in. As for the trackball its got a single molex green coming off it which i think is a neutral but idk what to plug that into either. any help or tips is appreciated

Hi All, I joined the forum recently and I can only tell that this is very well done, so first of all a big congrats to the guys for all the hard work behind the scenes. On my side, I just wanted to share my 2 cents on how to build an arcade machine, this one is a bit different as it will also be used for storing my wine and to manage it on top of the normal emulation. I did use hyperspin for a time but finally moved to another solution called retro-fe. Both communities helped a lot and I thank them for this. Video Link : https://youtu.be/CyViqOhJYw4 Tutorial : https://autarcica.wordpress.com/2016/02/25/arcave-machine/ Hope this…

Hi there , I've converted a world rally upright cabinet into a mame racing cab . I have been able to get the model 2 and 3 to work fine and also mame racing games when I start them on there own . I have been able to play mame perfectly through hyperspin but when I change systems and play the sega model 2 , none of my controls work . I'm able to play it perfectly when I start it without hyperspin running , but when I'm in hyperspin the controls don't seem to change accordingly to what system I move to. Is it something to do with the Logitech profiler ? I'm using a Logitech gt force steering wheel with pedals . Any help would be awesome , thanks

Just to show off my build after all the fantastic support from this forum. Many hours spent reading and configuring, soldering and editing text files. Currently has Mame, Neo Geo, Amiga, Specrum and 20+ joystick friendly steam games up and running. (Have several more emulators ready but just need controls to be configured). Many many thanks to you all and in particular Simply Austin for all his fantastic youtube tutorials! GV

Hmmm, I searched the forum and couldn't find the thread which I thought I'd made some time ago ... I was certain I'd made one ... nevermind. So, I originally built this cab in 2009 and it's undergone a few updates since it was originally built. I'm now in the process of updating it with a Mortal Kombat X theme. A few pics of the cab: I need to build an 8 button CP so have bought a MadCatz fight pad to hack: I've also re-done the artwork in glossy paper - the original was in matte and didn't give a nice deep black - it looks slightly washed out. I'm intending to add an inser…

Hi, I got my cabinet running but... I set the frontend to HyperSpin location and use HyperSpin as Default plugin and everything runs good.... then I get, Error: "-10" is not a valid key name. Line # 9300 Hotkey,%exitScriptKey%,CloseError When I return to RocketLauncher UI the Frontend and Default Plugin have both changed to RocketLauncher instead of HyperSpin. Then I change them back and everything is fine again for a bit. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks , Snaus

I am currently in the process of converting a PandoraBox cabinet into a Mame machine and so purchased a Jamma -> USB card. The card is seen in windows (10 64 bit) as two 3H Dual Arcade controllers but when I go to check the joysticks or buttons the PC is not receiving any of the inputs. I could have a broken card or the wiring in this cabinet is not standard Jamma. Can anyone tell me if the wiring for PandoraBox is standard? (When I connect everything back up it all works with the PandoraBox cartridge). I have uploaded a pic of the card incase anyone recognises it. (All I did was remove the Pandorabox cartridge and connect this card in its place.) Apprec…

I built an arcade cabinet with hyperspin and a few of my favorite games with the needed emulators. I use an atom based old mini PC in there. For a while I was looking to upgrade because I would like to play wii and PS2 games too. I kept reading AMD isn't working all that well, but my main PC (for just casual gaming and surfing the web) is an AMD PC. Specs: AMD 7850K 8Gb DDR3 2133 Radeon RX480 (I know this is a weird one, but it was a gift from my wife. Now the CPU is a huge bottleneck I think) Samsung NVME M.2 128Gb SSD External 2TB USB3.0 HDD I installed PCSX2 legacy and Dolphin 5.0 just to see if it would work... aaaand it WORKS GREAT. Other emulator…
