I just had a really unreal experienced with a company that supplies you with all the gadgets you need to build your arcade. Can I share my story before saying company's name? What are the rules on that, Thanks. Rick

Quick question for those of you who have added a Ultimarc Aim-trak light gun to their HS cabinet -- I realize an IR sensor needs to be mounted near the top edge of the monitor, but I want the installation to look as "clean" as possible. Assuming I de-case the sensor, how large of a hole will I need to poke through the bezel to accommodate each individual LED light bulb (I believe six small holes are required)? I guess what I'm asking is... What is the exact circumference of each small LED lightbulb? And how noticeable are the holes in the bezel? Thanks, Jim

Pedestal Super Arcade 100” screen LED Buttons I moved houses and sold my old arcade cabinet. This time I decided to go with a pedestal build. I have built a hyperpin cab and helped friends with some smaller 2 player builds but I wanted to go all out on this so I started with a new design I worked on digitally and then worked from there. This post will show the progression of the design and build: Specs: Computer: Gigabyte mobo Intel I3 16gigs of ram 500 gig ssd paired with 2 Terabyte hdd EVGA GTX 580 card from old PC Running Win 7 AC Infinity cabinet fan and temperature control system with Tstat LED Buttons and Joysticks all cu…

Working Progress.... After playing with Mame and Hyperspin I decided to have a go at building my own arcade cabinet did some researching and decided to go PC based instead of pcb board like Jamma or Pandora so I got my hands on a Aaeon all in one pc with Windows XP sp3 installed. I looked around for a flat pack cabinet and ended up with one from Rich's Bartop Arcade's as I wanted something small to have set up in the dining room, the parcel arrived well packed a couple days later So I opened up and 1st thoughts was VERY small but I did want a bar top set up so that’s what I got! The mdf was cut well so I set too with my sanding block and in an hour…

So i've just complete my NESPC build, figured I'd post the results and hardware here as some requested that I do. It was a really fun process where I learned a lot, got to do some fun modifications, and came out with what I think was a pretty good end result. My main goal was to build a PC inside of an NES case where everything was installed in a manner where I could easily add, remove, and upgrade components if needed while trying to leave the outside of the case as close to original as possible. Hardware List: 1 - Broken NES Case without dents/cracks - $14.99 1 - ASRock AM1H-ITX Motherboard - $59.99 1 - AMD Athalon 5350 - $53.99 1 - Samsung 256 GB Solid State Drive - $…

Has anyone around here tried a Hyperspin build run by a mini computer such as the one here: https://www.amazon.com/MINIX-NEO-Z83-4-Dual-Band-Technology/dp/B01M24W77N/ref=pd_sim_147_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=TZ618GN2ZF1R8M3TXPZV I thought his might be a lower cost approach to building a bartop cab. I don't have spare PC components to build my own, and I used my only spare PC on my last cab. I've got a raspberryPi but I'm not a big fan of RetroPie, the version of Mame it runs is really old and it doesn't handle vector games well. Anyhow anyone with experience with one of these things?

I and my kids love the laser games and try to get it work with a wii controller. When i have a android phone it is no problem just download a app like mouse lite and then download ultimate control on your pc en bamn you can play the old laser games with your phone, but i like to try to get it work with a wii controller because its more the form of a gun. I think i can make with mdf and a wii controller a nice gun, i tried Touchmote and GlovePie and ppjoy, for me it is just trying right now to configure when i am ready with this i will shared with you, just saying that i love Arcade and try to get it simple for all

I have a few cabs now but hyperspin keeps bringing me back to needle with tweaking my taito cocktail. I am not sure about what happened to the bottom of the cab as that part looks non original... but check out my YouTube channel for my arcade stuff... quick question tho, anyone know why a theme would be crashing in one wheel when the exact same theme in another wheel is ok?

Well i just built my first mini hyperpin cab http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?26494-My-Small-Hyperpin-Cab!-Tell-Me-what-you-think! so I said what the hell and decided to go ahead and build a HyperSpin cab while I'm at it. Designed after a "funglo/MonsterArcade Pedestal Cab" that i have been looking at for some time. I didnt want to dedicate my 40" lcd that that I also use on my driving cockpit that i build some years back so with a pedestal cab I can just move it back and forth. It's built out of 3/4" birch with led buttons, Paradise Arcade's RGB joysticks and also a 3" trackball. Ipac2 encoder and two led-wizs. They will control all the lights for the bu…

Hi Guys, spent a good amount of time now researching the bar top designs and I have found a very nice build. PVC looks like the best way to go but I guess the cheapest, easiest option is to try and find a kit?. Unfortunately I cannot find this exact one. Some are very close but slightly different on the control board angle or cutting lengths etc. Can anyone help me find this template/kit ? ebay used to have some cad drawings cheap for sale but I really want the same look as the image and also would need to source a company to cut the plastic. All new to me so any help/advice would be great.

If anyone out there can help - please get in touch, have most of the information including samples of the artwork style I would like to use ! i don't think too taxing but a fair bit of illustrator work ! Hello fellow Hyperspinners. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been active here - back in the heyday when Bad Boy Bill was the driving force behind the site. I used to read every post, in every topic, perusing the site on a daily-basis. I’d love to know the story behind BBB leaving and where many of the admins are today, but alas, life goes on and people take on new interests. There seem to be a lot of great things happening around here between HyperLaunch, HyperSync and the upcoming HyperBase. It’s refreshing to see others picking up the reigns and making things happen. A fantastic job to those of you who have stuck with it throughout the years. Your dedicatio…

Hi everyone! I remember first seeing Hyperspin around 2010. I was gobsmacked. What an awesome idea! I downloaded it straight away and started mocking up a setup to see what it looked like. The next time I saw my Dad I said "what do you think about building an arcade machine together?" He thought it sounded like a great idea and said we could do it quite easily. Fast forward 6 years and we're done! What a journey. I learned so much about tinkering with all parts of the software and hardware not to mention so many weekends in my Dad's shed learning how to use various tools, and more importantly how to patch up various mistakes I want to thank this community for he…

OK, I have examined the various means of using MCM to make a better list for the arcade games to put in the computer to have an excellent experience for anyone who comes over----this has led to a question considering the myriad of bad dumps on MAME (no fault of the MAME team BTW) So the question stands------what is the best way to do this????? 1: Use MCM and the catver whatever list to remove the roms and adult games (I have younger family and that would rather suck---plus most of them are far from good) 2: use Don's tools and edit out the bad games like non working etc. including adult and those horrid mahjong and card games that are---…

Hi , I have built a arcade cabinet and started with Raspberry pi3 and IPAC ULTIMATE and all worked ok. I have now just built a new pc with a ASUS STRIX 99 motherboard , broadwell e cpu , 16gb ram , 2 gig graphics card and windows 10 pro which is a fresh install not a upgrade. Hyperspin works fine with a normal keyboard but when I plug the usb in the pc from the IPAC or my IPAC ULTMATE the intro video of hyperspin goes low resolution and the selection wheel keeps spinning all the time . This is cured by removing the usb again and restart hyperspin. The results are the same with NO KEY SWITCHES even wired to the IPAC boards. I have even tested two standard keyboards c…

So I'm in the process of building my cab and just trying to work out how to hold my monitor in place... It's 27" dell, quite heavy. I'm thinking the two options are either use wood screwed into the vesa holes, or use straps... Anyone got any advice? Thanks!!

Well, I'm back - real life got in the way for awhile, to be honest. Managed to get my articulating monitor mount for only $20 CAD from amazon. The cabinet design has massively changed from my original plans though as I found a prefabbed cabinet that with only a few modifications will work beautifully. The question I have is A) Can I use anything from the tankstick? I've heard over and over that the controller is garbage- but I bought a DIY kit and it has a better controller (so I've heard). Can I still use the tankstick with this new controller? The current setup will have the tankstick sitting just below the line of the front of the cabinet so a person …

Purchased a case from Monster Arcades. They included 2 fans for the case for the top and bottom. These are just like for a computer with the same kind of connector. They have 4 pin connectors. How do you wire these to power? Cant find anything that extends too far? Thanks!

Hello to you all. I'm new to the forum and not sure if this is the right place. But I love games electronics and computer I've built multiple. Now I'm interested in building a bar top hyper spin system. I was looking for advice pointers and list of parts needed. I'm also confused on setup of hyper spins. Is it own form of a OS . Is it window based and if I get the hyper spins HDD does it come prepared to the point of all I have to do is plug it into my motherboard? All in all I want to build a Bartop arcade that will also be able to run. SFV / SFXTK / Injustice/ and all older games no matter platform.

So I think I am going to start looking for parts to piece together or keeping eye out for deals to make this Budget Cabinet. So I figured id make a thread to see what I'd need for what I want to do. Highest demanding game system ill be using on this PC for my cabinet is PS1/PSP Looking for not necessarily BARE MINIMUM but maybe like one step above it parts lol. I plan on using a wide screen display on a 27-40 inch tv/monitor(if this matters) Emulated Systems will be: Arcade Classics/Nes/SNES/Nintendo 64/Sega Genesis/Sega CD/Sega Saturn/Sega Dreamcast/PS1/PSP Extra Bonus Stuff: I plan on mounting my 27-40 inch tv/mo…
