I made it from a .78¢ poster, hot glued all of the inside flaps to make nice edge joints. I may not even paint it. I'm not sure yet. The whole outside will be covered by glass and a vinyl bezel. Eventually.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you knowledgable cabinet builders could link me to some very nicely done instructions for building cabinets and modifying old cabinets with hyper spin. What are your sources that you know of that really walk you through the process well? Thanks so much, Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Guys, Thanks so much for your ongoing help as I grapple with my first bartop. I see a lot of people recommend 4:3 monitors, but I also see people talking about emulating with HD graphics. Are 4:3 monitors compatible with HD graphics? What resolution should I be shooting for with a 4:3 19" monitor? Thanks!

I am now ready to install buttons on my control panel and I am thinking of going RGB. I am looking at using the Ultralux RGB buttons with a PACLED64 so I can have some fun with it. I would like to hear back on how well the Ultralux hold up to playing fighter games (this is what I mostly play) How are the Ultralux buttons for playing games. I was going to go with the CLASSX buttons (or maybe the chromalite buttons) from GGG but I am just not sure and need some help to make my decision. Please help in my decision

Hi, I'm from Spain and I want to show you my two Hyperspin home-made Cabs. The first is my "Paper Mario Dual Screen Arcade": The 7" screen it's really useful when playing the Nintendo DS emulator, having the primary screen in the 21" and the secondary in the 7". Also with Future and VPinball, having the DMD in the 7". In MAME the screen shows marquees, flyers and snaps of each game with cpwizard app. The other one is a NeoGeo MVS inspired Bartop. I've also done an arcade controller: So that's all. I hope you like it. Sorry if my english isn't good at all.

So I have finally bit the bullet and decided to build my own arcade cabinet. I want to build a 4-player cab with trackball and spinner. Here is my control panel design. I have ordered 8-way competition Bat top Joysticks and concave buttons from suzo-happ. Got my spinner and trackball and i-pac 4 encoder (Before i saw the kickstarter for the howler arcade controller, that thing looks insane!!). I went with the red knob for the spinner and heavy flyweight. Got my coin door and wiring harness's from Austin Amusements (Aussie company). Started building the box for the control panel over the weekend, here are my progress pics so far.

Hi Guys, I'm getting ready to order parts for my Retrocade bartop using Tippers27's 2 Player MDF kit. Now that I've got my head somewhat around the kit construction, I was hoping for some help with the internals. I'm more familiar with AMD, so I plan to use their hardware. Hi all, This is my first post here. I've been lurking for a little while and thought now that I had started my build I'd post a build thread. I've been wanting to build a MAME cabinet for years and the perfect opportunity presented itself when a friend with a partially finished cab decided to sell it during his recent move. He had bought a lot of the parts he needed to finish the project, but life got in the way and he ended up abandoning the project. I have a fair bit of computer experience but not a lot of woodworking skill, so remaking an existing cabinet was definitely the right choice for me. Here's the cabinet. Not sure what it started its life as, but it …

Hey guys, I have spent the last year building this Barcade. I have browsed this thread for a while now looking for inspiration and have yet to post anything on my project. So here it is! (so far...) The idea behind this build was to have a fully functional bar with a retractable arcade screen using a linear track actuator. I wanted to tie-in all my AV into the bar and of course add some hidden doors. I also wanted this thing to be mobile, so I added casters. I will update you guys later with more pictures, however here are some teasers for now. I am not done by any means and this is still a work in progress. If you have any suggestions, questions or comments please let…

Looking for some high quality HyperSpin logo decals to print and adhere to my cabinet. Are there any good files out there? Illustrator files would be ideal, but I'd take anything decent.

Hey everyone, First time poster...be gentle. I FINALLY finished my first cab. I totally suck at DIY/joinery/carpentry/building things. Basically, if there's a way I can screw it up, I tend to find it! But, I'm really happy with the way it turned out and as a learning process, it was fantastic. A lot of folks were advising me to just purchase a pre-configured cab from eBay for £600-£700, but the PC I have in here is decent enough to play most of the games I want to play via Steam as well. Reckon it's all come out to less than £600 anyway! I've left it bezel-less so that there's a bit of extra airflow going through. As I painted the inside of the cab black as well, th…

Looking for advice guys. Been building my first bartop. It's mdf and I painted it with a gloss mdf paint. I have a friend who owns a print shop and he printed me some art I designed on adhesive vinyl and it looks awesome. I applied it carefully squeezing the air out as I went but now find it's peeling off from the corners. It's still as sticky as it was it just won't form a decent bond all over. I'm after advice to get it to stay on really. Are there any adhesives that would work without ruining it. I'm sure it's me and not the vinyl, has anybody else found anything similar. Crikey. After starting playing around with Hyperspin last Oct I almost have a working bartop cab and I am buzzing with it. Just waiting for my mate to deliver my two final bits of artwork tomorrow and I will be virtually good to go. Have taught myself basic woodworking and electronics over the course of this! I've had two small "fires" from burning wires lol that the missus wasn't impressed with but I think it's safe now hehe. Two player, full rgb LedBlinky set ups, PC built into the cab and the kids love it. It will realistically never be finished due to tinkering but it is fully my pride and joy. Will posts pics later this week! Sent from my iPad using Tapatal…

Hi Guys, Finally after many months of planning and designing I have finally finished my custom pair of external LS30 Rotary joysticks. This was a joined project so a very big thank you to my good friend Langersld for helping in the fabrication, the design of the graphics and mdf boxes used in the joysticks. Both of us are building a set of 2 sticks. The LS30 joysticks are brand new (NOS) which I recently picked up from ebay. What an amazing find. Using Druin's rotary interface, IPAC2 and Sanwa buttons. The Joysticks are connected via a DB25 connector for 2 player action. I decided to do this so that I only have to rely on 1 rotary interface only and required 24 wire conn…

I'm so taken with Pinball FX2, I've decided to build a cabinet for it. It won't be a traditional style but will embrace the fact this is video pinball. I hope for it to be 3D compatible. I'll be starting with the controller first. I'm also posting in this forum as it will be more of an arcade machine than anything else. The basic, main design elements will be as follows: -Based off a 360 wired controller (already hacked and soldered) -Provide nudge capability -Incorporate a touchpad for menu navigation -Include a plunger Just to give an idea as to what this will look like. Rough concept: The sides and the nudge bar will be covered in black PlastiDip - a durable r…

Ok So i have an old Mortal Kombat Cabinet, the 25" WG K7401 in it is making a ticking sound. I really do not have the knowledge to fix it and have never soldered anything in my life. I do have a new cap kit for it, i had to have a $15 minimum when i bought a molex connector so i picked cap kit up to. Should i try and find someone to do fix it? I was just going to replace it with a 24 inch ACER lcd, or shouold i go bigger like a 26? The 24 is brand new and free, i would have to buy the 26. Would the difference be noticeable? Would i be better of trying to find a 25 inch crt TV to put in it? i would like to find something none widescreen in a 25 inch. Those who have wide …

Acquired this beauty today for $130. Included the joysticks, buttons and the ipaq controller. Anyone have any idea what game cabinet this is? It is definitely and old arcade cabinet of some sort. Will be looking for a coin door because I don't want the gaping hole in the front. The only thing I am not crazy about are the 2 big round holes the previous owner cut in the sides. I need to figure out what I am going to do with those.
