I've seen so many people with videos of their own custom cabinets and I decided to jump in and give it a shot! :pcguru:I searched through he forums here and even became a gold member and got hyperspin working with a bunch of emulators a few still need some work but so far its working! I put together an old pc that i had from spare parts (not great but runs) and it is able to run hyperspin although I will replace the pc with something with more power. the arcade cabinet itself I searched through craiglist and found someone selling one (who was also building hyperspin cabinets) for $50 bucks so I said LETS DO THIS!! the cabinet is an old Devastators cabinet which was…

I've been using Hyperspin for a few years via my HTPC but a few weeks ago i started building a bartop arcade to get more of a retro feel if you know what i mean. Anyway i've found the art for the theme i want my bartop to be but not sure about art printing.. I've been given a few sites in the uk, www.printed.com & http://www.pixartprinting.co.uk/ but i have a question. 1. When i put a quote in and put my marquee size i get an error saying: Both width and height must be at least 200mm. Am i right to think that when i upload my psd file they will print the marquee dimensions i have set in photoshop psd and and extra will be just cut after. Sorry if i sound dumb but i'…

Hi an attempt to build my first cabinet I looked through the forums for inspiration. Upon finding a slim cab designed and built by KD5 ( http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?12561-New-Cab-new-Design ) I decided to build the same one. Based on the pictures in the post this is what I have come up with so far. The idea is this is my prototype built from scrap wood in the garage with only a circular saw, jig saw and a cordless screw driver. Once happy and adjustments made I will fully disassemble and use everything as a template to rebuild the cab in MDF at which point I will take more care in cutting and finishing. Please let me know you're thoughts and pass on a…

So u am still working on my first hyperspin build. I have a x-arcade with roll ball control. I need to assign a button to be my escape button. I don't think it would be a good idea to use any of the face keys as a escape button. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do as an escape button? Is it possible to set up hyperspin to exit with 3 buttons pushed at the same time? Or anyone know of any pc software that will macro so like when I press button 1+2+ctrl to be the same as pressing Esc? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

About a year ago I started pulling together the parts to have a Tron machine, I wanted a tasteful way to have a spinner and flight stick, but with out going too custom, I love the classics, and the retro cabinets need some respect, before any klov guys see this and call out blasphemy, the cabinet is new, not original, the only parts that are original are the lighting fixtures (not the plastic), shroud and marquee and control panel , and flight stick hardware. All the art is from Phoenix arcade. I have a lot of respect for the purists, but I cannot afford a million dollar collection so I can relive the 80's I never got to see, but I can afford to have old busted-destined…

Aside from a piece of artwork that needs to applied to the front of the CP where the MAME logo is positioned and the installation of the Blue Tron Joystick grips, this bad boy is a wrap. Now it is time to focus on my Pinball Project from my 1978 Williams Widebody version of Contact.

Hey Guys, I just joined the hyperspin forum, and I cant wait to get my hands on more in-depth stuff in Hyperspin. I also became platinum member because Hypersync looked like a nice thing. Does anyone have some quick tips for me? Anyway, this is my new cab which will be finished this week. I call it the UBERcut Arcade Cab. (Ubercut is my company name)

I'm working with 3/4 MDF and have the proper router bit. I cut today with a 12" molding test piece to hammer in around the cab for testing while cutting. I started with a scrap piece to make sure the molding was centered and once that was locked in I moved to the actual sides. This is where things started to go wrong. I started with small routes and tested each before moving on and everything seemed to be OK so I routed one complete side and noticed at times the molding was a bit off. I adjusted the depth and rerouted the whole side. The molding is perfect on the center now but the fit is to loose to hold on the corners. I then cut the other side at the depth the router…

Hello Hello, first post and everything but I gotta say this forum has been a godsend whilst building this cab and hyperspin is just perfect as a front end system, if I'd have know it existed I might have built one years ago. Anyway, here's a few snaps of my cab with a little (LOTS) of help from my old boy we're probably about half done Will end up covered in white vinyl (brother in-law conveniently is a manager at a local sign company) with capcom decals, streetfighter most likely. I think it's shaping up nicely, two Qanba fightsticks for controls, I had intended to put an Ipac board in and wire all the sticks and buttons in myself but i thought these looked the busi…

Greetings All! I just wanted to post some pics of my first custom Arcade Cabinet (running HyperSpin of course)! All of the art was done by myself based off of the Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti (Box Art, Instruction Manuel etc.) I couldn't find any pictures with high enough resolution so I re-made everything in Illustrator. I'm really happy with how it turned out! Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!

Hey fellas, Been working on this bigole thing for about 2 months off and on. And were ALMOST done. I'm an events planner/in charge of employee happiness at a home security company. We got into the subject of pool tables in a meeting one day and I said "what about a few arcade games?" and the COO loved the idea. This cab is the 3rd in line of arcades Ive fixed up for work, and it is by far the most badass.

Does anyone know of a source for custom sized plastic bezels for flatscreen LCDs that mimic the look of standard CRT bezels? I've found some that are made for 19" LCDs, but I'm looking for one that will fit a 15" 4:3 LCD for a bartop cab, like the one below. Any ideas?

Hey guys, new to this forum. It's already looking like a great source for info. What I'm doing is building an emulation machine inside an NES case, keeping it looking as original as possible. This will be a reasonably long term thing (few months I'm betting) and I'd like some help starting with hardware selection. I will be emulating the usual NES, SNES, GBA Genesis up to N64 which I'll be playing on a Full HD 55" tv. Should I worry about upscaling on the larger tv? What do I need to be running the emulators at 1080p if that will be an issue? Will be installing Windows 7 32 bit, would 64 be any advantage? Looking at using this motherboard: Model IONITX-C-U Form…

Recently got a great deal on a cabinet that I'm building a new CP for. I want to cover the top with a black textured vinyl. Something with durable and a little rough feeling. Would something like this work or has anyone tried this? http://www.parts-express.com/black-textured-vinyl-laminate-2-ft-x-18-ft--261-618 I was reading something about Protac Emerytex covered vinyl and wondered if the above would be similar in texture?

This is going to sound like a super-dumb question, but I'm restoring an MKII cab and I want to get it right... I want to match the t-molding exactly to the original, but I don't have one for reference. I found a seller who sells the specific red molding for MK, but there's another seller who has red molding that is significantly cheaper. The only issue is that they have two shades of red and I don't know which one to get. Their standard red molding looks pretty much the same as the guy's who sells the MK-specific molding, but they also have a "bright red" shade that to me looks more like the molding in pics I have of the MKII cab (both are from gamemolding.com-- if any…
