I'm not sure where to ask this so I hope it's okay here. Can somebody who is familiar with the Famicom Disk System games answer this question - I see the current No-intro set for the FDS has almost 100 games that are marked bad. From everything I have been told, No-Intro sets only contain good dumps, no bad ones. Yet that doesn't seem to be the case at all, at least not for the FDS. Some of those games aren't marked as bad in the Tosec set for FDS. Is the Hyperspin XML for the FDS based on No-Intro? Because my FDS set checks out 100% with the latest Hyperlist DAT, yet if it's based on No-Intro, wouldn't that mean many of them were marked as bad? Most of the g…

Hi there, I have a cabinet that I've built and Mame is working brilliantly through Hyperspin (along with a few others... Future Pinball, Daphne etc). I would love to play some old spectrum games that I bought years ago. I tried to play Atic Atac the other day and, apart from having to use the keyboard to press "0" to start, the rest of the game played well with the joystick and buttons on the cab. However, I then tried to play Jetpac and it wouldn't work at all. Is there a way to set up the games so that I can play them through the cabinet. How do other people do it? Is it possible to over-ride a games set keys and change them so they reflect…

Hi, I'm having an issue where some Taito Type X games are minimizing to the taskbar when launched in Hyperspin. Some examples are: Chaos Breaker and KOF '98UM. All of the games launch and exit perfectly in Rocketlauncher and on their own. I'm thinking this is maybe a switching resolution issue in HS, and something simple, but I just can't figure it out. I am running Hyperspin 1.4.16 at 1024x768. I also don't see anything weird in the log about the crashing. Other info: I have GTX 750ti and have a HP LP2065 monitor Any help or advice is truly appreciated.

Hey guys, how are you? As the title says, is it possible to shuffle themes (in my case, will be for systems)? Or maybe the artwork inside of them? I have a lot of artwork for my systems themes, and I would love for those to be random (on each HS launch, to have different Artwork1 or 2 showing up for my systems). Can this be done? Thanks!

Hi, I'm a virgin to posting in any forum of any kind so please forgive me if I posted anything incorrectly or offensive. Before I start I just want to say thank you to all of the great people on this site for all of the information and resources and of course the creation of this killer Front end! I'm looking for help setting up some new cabs I'm building. I built a cab about ten years ago with hyperspin ( an aircraft carrier , 4 player with trackball, spinner, rotaries, top fire blah, blah, blah). I've just overcome some teething issues getting Hyperspin to run on my set up at home. The root of the cause turned out to be ArcadeVGA display drivers, the symtom? Game intro videos showing up as green screens and then the Hyperspin frontend crashing immediately. At any rate, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and I have been struggling with HyperSpin all day because I thought there was some sort of set up or software problem. Noob question. I want to remove the 'PRESS START', 'FREE PLAY', and 'JOYSTICK' animations that adorns the bottom of HyperSpin's UI. I have a CRT monitor in my cab and don't want to see these displayed items burned into the phosphors if I can prevent it somehow. Thanks!

i'm trying to have my tankstick control hyperspin. I made some key input changes in hyperhq and now the keyboard and the tankstick dont work. The emulation wheel just keeps spinning really fast when I enter. I have another test hyperspin on the same computer and that on as well is doing it too. Anyone know of a solution and why is it doing it.

First, let me say.... I'm giving up on Retroarch. I have a real aracde control panel setup with a Ultimarc-Ultimate I/O, with suzo Happ comp joysticks, a suzo happ Heavy duty flight stick, a u-trak, and a u-spinner, all with ultimarc ultimate LED buttons. I've tried mapping buttons and joysticks using retroarch, and it's far too complicated, and the tutorials available seem to be more for people who are plugging their hyperspin applications into xbox controllers, and other things..... After having TRIED to configure retroarch for everything else for months.... I've given up on it. Great concept, but too many exhaustive options to configure and not ideal for a true "arcade…

Hi All, Bit of a noob question. I've been running Hyperspin v1.3.3 with MAME v0.154 for quite a while now. I recently discovered that Raiden 2 now runs with MAME v0.155 onwards. I downloaded MAME v0.155 and replaced the old .exe with the new one. If I load the new version of MAME, I can select and play the Raiden 2 ROM. If I start Hyperspin, Raiden 2 does not appear in the wheel, even though the ROM's are all in the same folder. Is there something that I have to do to make it appear in the wheel? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I've just set up HyperSearch and gotten the keys mapped ok with JoyToKey. I can open it up from within HS, do a search, see the results, etc, but when I press "enter" (with my xbox controller - mapped with JoyToKey) nothing happens. The game doesn't launch. I edited the config file and pointed it to RL but don't know what else to do to get games to launch from within the search. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, --J

Hey guys, for anyone that has this game, how do you map your controls? This game is a nightmare with mapping, it allows you to map the in game controls but the menu keys are hard coded. Any work arounds out there? The xinput dll hack doesn't seem to work.

I've set up my hyperspin on an htpc and am currently shopping for controllers. I want 4 player games to be playable - I read that xbox 360 controllers were generally the best - wireless version. However I don't really like the idea of having to charge the controllers or constantly buy double A batteries. What is the best way (if possible) to use 4 wired xbox controllers? Is there a usb hub that you guys have used successfully? Also, I am purchasing a dolphin bar and wii-motes (I think these have no wired option so I have no choice here). Am I missing anything else? I haven't set up genres on anything. Honestly I'm not really wanting too. What I was wondering though is if it's possible to use a genres XML to assign each system to a "genre". So, in effect, you'd be on the main menu with your giant system list. Hit the Genre button. Then re-name genres so you'd see "Handhelds", "Consoles", "Computers", & "Arcade" as the genre's. That way, choosing the "genre" named "Handhelds" would only show you the main menu still, but only show you Game Boy, Game Gear, PSP, etc.

I've tried several different versions of SSF (currently using 12R3) and want to use a 360 pad with it. I've found that I have to set the controller up for each individual game. I really don't want to do that for 300+ games but no matter how many times I set it up in the program without any game launched, then launch a new game, the controller doesn't respond. I have to bind the keys each and every time for each new game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm pulling out my hair trying to get SSF working properly. Thanks, --J
