First, let me say.... I'm giving up on Retroarch. I have a real aracde control panel setup with a Ultimarc-Ultimate I/O, with suzo Happ comp joysticks, a suzo happ Heavy duty flight stick, a u-trak, and a u-spinner, all with ultimarc ultimate LED buttons. I've tried mapping buttons and joysticks using retroarch, and it's far too complicated, and the tutorials available seem to be more for people who are plugging their hyperspin applications into xbox controllers, and other things..... After having TRIED to configure retroarch for everything else for months.... I've given up on it. Great concept, but too many exhaustive options to configure and not ideal for a true "arcade…

Hi All, Bit of a noob question. I've been running Hyperspin v1.3.3 with MAME v0.154 for quite a while now. I recently discovered that Raiden 2 now runs with MAME v0.155 onwards. I downloaded MAME v0.155 and replaced the old .exe with the new one. If I load the new version of MAME, I can select and play the Raiden 2 ROM. If I start Hyperspin, Raiden 2 does not appear in the wheel, even though the ROM's are all in the same folder. Is there something that I have to do to make it appear in the wheel? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Guys, Any tips for getting SweetFX working with Demul 5.8.2? I'm on Windows 7. I'm using GigaPig's CRT settings, which look great, I just can't get them to show up with Demul 5.8.2. Thanks!

I've just set up HyperSearch and gotten the keys mapped ok with JoyToKey. I can open it up from within HS, do a search, see the results, etc, but when I press "enter" (with my xbox controller - mapped with JoyToKey) nothing happens. The game doesn't launch. I edited the config file and pointed it to RL but don't know what else to do to get games to launch from within the search. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, --J

Hey guys, for anyone that has this game, how do you map your controls? This game is a nightmare with mapping, it allows you to map the in game controls but the menu keys are hard coded. Any work arounds out there? The xinput dll hack doesn't seem to work.

I've set up my hyperspin on an htpc and am currently shopping for controllers. I want 4 player games to be playable - I read that xbox 360 controllers were generally the best - wireless version. However I don't really like the idea of having to charge the controllers or constantly buy double A batteries. What is the best way (if possible) to use 4 wired xbox controllers? Is there a usb hub that you guys have used successfully? Also, I am purchasing a dolphin bar and wii-motes (I think these have no wired option so I have no choice here). Am I missing anything else? I haven't set up genres on anything. Honestly I'm not really wanting too. What I was wondering though is if it's possible to use a genres XML to assign each system to a "genre". So, in effect, you'd be on the main menu with your giant system list. Hit the Genre button. Then re-name genres so you'd see "Handhelds", "Consoles", "Computers", & "Arcade" as the genre's. That way, choosing the "genre" named "Handhelds" would only show you the main menu still, but only show you Game Boy, Game Gear, PSP, etc.

I've tried several different versions of SSF (currently using 12R3) and want to use a 360 pad with it. I've found that I have to set the controller up for each individual game. I really don't want to do that for 300+ games but no matter how many times I set it up in the program without any game launched, then launch a new game, the controller doesn't respond. I have to bind the keys each and every time for each new game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm pulling out my hair trying to get SSF working properly. Thanks, --J

Hi all, I've spent some time tweaking my HLSL settings under MAMEUIFX (thanks for the builds Jumpstile!), and since I haven't seen any posted recently I thought I'd share my settings. These are what I'm using with MAMEUIFX .162, and are based on Jezze's personal settings (with some tuning of my own) found in this thread: http://mame32fx.altervista.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=190. My machine is a bit older (~2010) and these work great for me on a 1080p 16:9 monitor. The key to performance on an older system is using a shadow-mask that can support reduced hlsl_prescale_x and hlsl_prescale_y settings. The higher the settings, the more GPU horsepower needed. # # …

Need help please. I must've overridden some files. When I launch hypersin, the intro video doesn't show and when I try to exit out of hyperspin, it tells my that I'm missing the exit image. So now that only way I can exit out of hypersin is clt+alt+del. What should I do? Reinstall hypersin?

Hi - Sorry for the (probably) newbie question but I am, of course, a newbie. Just getting Hyperspin/RocketLauncher/MAME working here. Followed some tutorials and things are going well so far. However, I'm not able to control the HyperSpin menus with my arcade control sticks (custom made for me a while back and connect via USB). They configure and work fine in MAME. I've launched HyperHQ and enable Joystick control in the menus. It detects the ID correctly, and even detects the controller presses correctly. I've transplanted my system into a new cabinet. Not sure what's going on by the main menu upon start just starts scrolling and won't stop until I move the trackball or push some buttons. It's the weirdest thing. It's as if a button is stuck or something leaning on the up or down arrow. Does anyone know of a utility that I can see exactly what is being sent to the computer as keystrokes, joystick, trackball movements?

I've set up JoyToKey and gotten it working properly, or so I thought, but I've noticed it isn't switching from the default profile to the rocketlauncher profile when I launch a game through RL or the HS profile when I launch a game from HS. Since it doesn't switch the profile, every time I press the "B" button which is mapped to exit in the default profile, it closes the game. If I could get it to switch profiles I wouldn't have that problem. I don't even know how to manually change the profile, not that I should have to, in JoyToKey so it will stop exiting games when I press the "B" button. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I did something really dumb. I was getting the error stating Rocketlauncher didn't know when the game was launched (using newest PCSX2 nightly build because 1.4 didn't work at all) and after doing some research on this forum, I found I had to delete some stuff from the module starting at line 320. I made a backup of my module like a good boy, edited the lines (deleted them) and couldn't get any changes so I just put the backup back in place of the original module....Or so I thought. I want to create a wheel on my main menu called Favorites. I want it to contain games from multiple systems. I've searched and searched and have come up with some answers but they all seem way over my head. This isn't something I'll be editing often as my favorites don't change and I have complete rom sets for all my systems, so knowing that, is there an "easy" way to do this? If there isn't an easy way, is there at least some way that is fully documented with a step-by-step tutorial either in text or video format? I'd greatly appreciate any input. Thanks, --J

HI guys, hope you can help. Today I updated my setup to RocketLauncher, this went well. On first launch, Hyperspin wouldn't work with my Xbox One controller, where it did previously. I fiddled about a bit then it started to work. I still had the issue with the analogue stick where it would scroll the wheels really fast left or right. I tried to resolve this via HyperHQ, but somewhere along the way my controls don't work at all now in the Main Menu. So many moons ago I did a hyperspin build and it has served me well (with the exception of windows defender trying to delete the hyperspin.exe on me for some odd reason). But I had been gaming less and less and my collection has become a bit neglected. Orginally I had my main archive stored on a drive, a Build for my homebuilt arcade cabinet (x-arcade control) and a build for my HTPC (360 / XBONE controller). Now, I no longer use an HTPC but an Nvidia Shield TV. Hello I am new to using Hyperspin. I dowloaded it following a guide on youtube made by Simply Austin, but when I go to audit my games on the rocketlauncher UI it says "Error parsing database files, Make sure the XML is well-formed. An error occurred while parsing Entityname. Line 326, position 40." but when i click on manually launch games using rocketlauncher they load just fine. Can someone help me sort this out?
