Hey, So Ia m wanting to learn the electric guitar, alway have wanted to and I think I will try. I tried once before (much younger) but I gave up. I don't want this to happen again. I have a friend who is going to do lessons with me about twice a month, but wanted to work on things myself via book? website? video's? I have seen so many sites etc that claim they can teach me guitar but I am confused as to what is the best way to go. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations? thanks Jim

The Electric Playground has come to an end after 25 seasons on TV in Canada. This was the best and in recent years only Video Game show on TV for those living in the best part of North America. Sad to see it go. For those who like video games check out their youtube channel: They have tons of videos from recent and past shows. https://www.youtube.com/user/EPNetworkTV

I don't expect to get any responses from this thread but because I love Tim Wrights work and it's part of my nostaglia I thought everyone should at least be aware of this, even it you don't know his work. Tim did the bulk of the music from the early WipEout games and is reworking the tracks from WipEout, Wipeout 2097 and Wipeout Pure. There is a time limited on the preorders so don't delay. Thanks. http://www.coldstorage.org.uk/chillout/

For some reason I have always assumed everyone here updated every release and that's why they only have the latest xml. But I have begun to realize that there may be more people like me who really dread updating. For the record: I am running .158 but with the recent MAME/MESS merger I will likely be updating within the next release or two. I have never used MESS so I am unsure of what will be added but more games can't be a bad thing right? Feel free to post what some of the games I have been missing out on are. Or what games to stay away from LOL. I am also looking for feedback on how people manage their MAME. Do you update MAME every release? Proficient with clrma…

So I enjoy hosting lan parties... Rather than busting out all my disks, and using my typical Windows 98 rig. I was thinking hey why don't I use Exodos use a version that has the NE2000 support like DOSBOX_SVN_MB6 or another version. I found a rocking list of IPX based games on moby so I could limit my meagre library to just the ones that are IPX only so I came up with a process to call network.bat in the autoexec section of the dosbox.conf per game like the collection has that would mount another drive with my networking stuff and load up the lsl, ne2000, ipxodi, etc. I had all of this working very well and was pretty stoked because I wanted the whole thing isol…

I am looking for a cheap portable player that can plug into the jacks and watch movies. I am guessing I would have to run a power plug to a cigarette lighter plug... any suggestions?

Hey everyone, Wasn't sure where to look for help with this one, as I didn't find much on google. I recently got BlueStacks up and running on my PC and hyperspin. I downloaded Fruit Ninja to test it out, and it works great. I downloaded Chaos Rings from the store, and when I attempt to launch it, a box in the top right says it is "Preparing to use App", cycles through a few things, and then closes. Does anyone have any experience with apps that are a bit stubborn on BlueStacks? I know some just won't work, but I read at least one other place that mentioned the game Chaos Rings does work. Any and all tips and help is appreciated

I think we all have our epic stories when finishing the game for a first time or beating an all-time highscore or just getting past that one bit where we were stuck forever. I would like this to be the place where we can share such stories with each other. Back when Gran Turismo 4 came out, it was the very first time Polyphony Digital introduced 24hrs endurance races. A buddy and myself decided to give it a go at the Nordschleife, better know as the Nürburgring or notoriously named by Sir Jackie Stewart as the "Green Hell". I made a racing cabinet back when GT3 was released so we installed ourselves and set about to tackle this fun racing track. For those who are not …

I've really committed myself to learning RetroArch and have been well rewarded for the effort - it's an awesome piece of software that really simplifies things for us HyperSpin enthusiasts. It got me thinking though - what is the stance of the original emulators designers whose software was used to develop the cores in multi emulator platforms like RetroArch? Do they welcome the use of their software in RetroArch or do they prefer that gamers use their original emulator? If it were me, I suppose I would see developing an emulator as a devotion to a particular platform and a labor of love, so I would probably welcome my work being forked into new projects and finding avenu…

Hi all! Wanted to post this somewhere for my friends to see. "Back in the day", shortly after the Amiga 500 was released in the US I was a proud owner of an Amiga 500 (with an A501 installed), a 1084s monitor and a A1010 external floppy. I was a happy camper. A few years later I was forced to relieve myself of it and have wanted another ever since. I started looking a few years ago to find, they are expensive here in the states. Hard to find. I did not want to get a PAL one, mainly because of the hassle and expense. So I keept my eyes out for a cheap A500. Score last week! A stock A500 for dirt cheap. Comes with nothing and not tested, but hey, I can figure …
