Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a reproduction Nintendo cabinet made up and are going to go for Mario vs Donkey Kong theme. I'm just after some artwork advice as I'm having trouble deciding on a marquee and looking for suggestions and or opinions, especially any from the skilled artists on this forum. Here's a rough render at what I'm doing: Here are some marquee options: White background. Red background. Red and orange stripe background. Red, white and orange stripe background. Orange fading into red background. Red into orange and back to red again. What marquee do you like? I also added a fireball in the last two marquees, should I keep the fi…

Hi Guys I have a problem, i have already finnished my control panal and a persplex plate on top, now i want to design a vinyl to sticker under it. Which programs do you guys use to design, i have tried photoshop and Illustrator but the main issue is to place the holes for the buttons in these programs. I am used to work with Autocad which is a piece of cake to get the right measurements (x,y,x) But in both these prgrammams its a nightmare to work with the rulers instead of entering coordinates. Who can advice me the best and easy to use programm I want to send this design to some sticker supplier in the Netherlands and make this Thanks in advance guys Grtz Michel

Hi there. I've been dreaming of building my own hyperspin cabinet, and after setting up hyperspin, I have no idea what to do next. I've been using a usb fight stick while it is on my pc but I'll be using the I-Pac for the build. Should my next thing after setting up hyperspin be to buy all my buttons, coin mech abd I-Pac to set up controls? The more I do, the more I feel swamped, I'm doing this alone for the first time and have no idea what I am doing essentially. So really, what I am asking is, I have hyperspin wheels and games set up, what do I do next? Sent from my HTC_PN071 using Tapatalk

I didn't have GC/PS or Dreamcast at the time but I heard they are hefty in size. if there are any UK guys here that could help me in hardware stores they purchased parts from etc I would appreciate it thanks

I have been talking about building a cabinet for years and finally have started. I will be building a 4 player control panel style that hooks up to any TV with an HDMI cable. One cool thing about my cabinet is that I designed my own controller. I want to be able to light all my buttons and joysticks with an RGB LED and configure my buttons and joysticks as keyboard inputs, mouse inputs or joystick inputs but there was no controller that could do everything an it would have cost over $250 to get what I wanted and required 5+ circuit boards. I am an Electronics Engineer so I said screw it and I designed my own! So the Howler Controller was born: Here are what the specs W…

Hey guys, I am currently in the process of building my pedestal cabinet which is similar to http://funcoamusements.com/Arcade-Cabinets/FunGlo-V3 but I am making the sides solid one piece. I have decided to go with chrome T-moulding, the problem that I have ran into is the art for the cabinet. I have no clue what art would go good with this. I'm basically looking for some type of generic artwork that would go good for the two sides of the cabinet and I am probably gonna run a hyperspin logo down the middle sides. If you have any input on what I should do I would much appreciate it. I plan on sticking to a black paint job to go with the chrome T-moulding.

hello fellow builders! well my story goes like this: i always wanted to build a gun arcade and not like the standard upright cabinet size one, but the really giant ones like time crisis two player or ghost squad size. so i got my hands on a broken Gunman wars arcade and started from there, now i have a 50 inch plasma which fits perfect inside, 2 modified terminator machine guns (the rail guns) and two lightguns from Arcadeguns.com. the pc i am going to leave for last because i want to build a powerful gaming computer and because the longer i wait the cheaper the parts get, but i want to get started on the cabinet. so here is my reason for posting this: here is some concep…

Hello Arcade Enthusiasts!!! About me: I currently work as a IT Infrastructure Support Specialist and have always wanted to re-live those nostalgic memories of of 8bit and 16bit gaming.. I always wanted an arcade cabinet but never knew which game to get and where I could find space to put it. I then decided one night whilst playing Ghouls and Ghosts on a terrible laptop that couldn't do much more, to Google building my own cabinet. It was there and then when I came across HyperSpin I wanted nothing more than to start a project to build my very own multiplatform Cab. What I've done: I saw a lot of people on here buy Bar-top cabinet's or build Bar-top cabinets and later …

Well as some of you may know I just recently finished my Nintendo Popeye cabinet, which turned out fantastic. So it seemed I had half a sheet of wood left and decided since my kids love my cabinets so much I'd make them a bartop for them to play on. I looked around the web got some sizes and started going at it, so far so good. It has only been like 4 days and I just got the monitor mounted and the marquee plexi cut. My next steps are painting it and ordering some nice t-molding and art work for it. Here is the first picture I well continue to add progress pictures and updates as I can Remounted the monitor today as horizontal instead, think it well work out bette…

Ever since I was playing TMNT with my friends in the local arcade it has been a childhood wish to own my own arcade machine. Now after many years I have found the time to build one. In this post I will expand on the build process. Step 1 – Custom design in Sketchup Before actually building anything I started work on the cabinet design. Of course I have been influenced by many designs freely available on the internet. None of them seemed fit for my purpose so I made my own from scratch loosely based on a few other designs. What seemed stange to me in most of the designs found on the web was that the side panels were very flimsy. Most builders used two panels of MDF to c…

I am looking to mount a fan in the bottom of the cabinet to blow on my video cards to keep them cool. I have 2 GTX 670 cards in SLI and I want to make sure they stay cool. What fan would be good but not too big? Would be great to be able to mount it somewhere in there. Thanks

First off I need to throw out some thanks to a few people before I get into it. Winsor Plywood for their free rough-cuts and great prices. (Perfect cuts I must add) MemoryExpress for their computer parts that work! PladiumStore for a one stop shop for all my parts (Canadian) Home Depot for everything else! My dad for his help! My best friend Dave for his guidance when I was frustrated. Last but not least, hyperspin forums for all the information and helpful users. Well it's been a long 3 weeks or so! I started this build Canada Day weekend. I based my build off of the cabinet plans ridicrick included in his origonal post (HERE) I had to make some changes as I w…

Hello pinball fans! I like to join your fantastic club of "happy pinball cab owners" Before starting the woodwork I am looking for the last piece of information... I learned that a "samsung UE46F6000" will be a good choice for the 46" playfield 1) Do you know if the bezel is different between UE46F6470 and UE46F6170???? At "amazon[dot]de" it looks different than at "samsung[dot]de". Is this true? Or is it only the plastic-case ??? Or is the "inner" display the same measurement at all samsung 6xxx ????? --> Maybe one type fits better into the cab without decasing... (and there is no hardware dealer around...) 2) And the dimensions of a widebody lockdown ba…
