Good Day I am looking for thoughts, tips and recommendations for putting the finishing touches on my hyperspin cabinet. A few things to keep in mind: I have a 16 button hyperspin cabinet, stereo sound, Core2Duo with geforce 250, wireless card, Running the latest version of Hyperspin/Hyperlaunch. I have all the themes/art/and the wheels look pretty good. Hyperspin starts up automatically and explorer doesn't load, and it auto logs in. Note: Shutdown script doesn't work (would love some help with this) I'd love for the system to shut down when exiting HS Any thoughts on normalizing volumes (seems the some mame games are louder/softer then others, normalizing th…

Wanted to share my first cabinet build with everyone now that it's near finished. When I designed the cabinet, I wanted to create something that was a sit-down style cabinet for long hours of play, but without the usual Japanese plastic look that usually is associated with that genre. Instead I wanted something that used t-molding like the classic cabinets of my childhood, and I settled on chrome and black after seeing a similar color scheme somewhere in my Googles. It has a manually rotating 24" LED monitor for optimal viewing of horizontal and vertical games, and it's a touchscreen for use with some some casino & slot games I have. There's a second 15" USB-pow…

Hi all, Well firstly a massive thanks to the whole community here for this excellent front end software and for all the contributors. Without your efforts I wouldnt have my own cab. Basically I have a 4 player StreetFighter themed cab, the cab was constructed by Turnarcades, the controls are from Ultimarc and the whole thing was set up by me. The PC is an old P4 HT 3gHz, 2.5gb RAM (400 mhz I think) with a 1gb Geforce GT210 with a 24" Acer HD LCD TFT. It runs Hyperspin pretty well on medium settings but bogs down with advanced graphical functions. But all the emulators run spot on. In the fullness of time I intend to add lightgun and up the motherboard to at least a dual…

Hi guys, Today i'm creating my console panel and I still have some decisions to make. I'm using a mini-pac and I'm afraid of having not enough connections to create my panel since it only allows 32 wires: 2 joysticks = 4 x 2 = 8 connections 7 buttons = 7 x 2 = 14 connections 2 flipper buttons = 2 connections Player 1/2 start = 2 connections Coin 1/2 = 2 connections So thats allready 28 connections taken, if I want to include 3 mousebuttons (left/middle/right) for my trackball then I will only have 1 buttons left for pause/escape/config/restart/power... I was wondering can i disclude the mousebuttons and just configure player 1 buttons 4/5/6 for example as mouse l…

I've been thinking, more like "obsessing", over the idea of a HyperSpin Cab since '09. I've built a few little dedicated set-top machines and put together a few cocktail tables with spare parts....but the time has finally come. I used an existing cabinet circa 1977...coupled with a Dell Optiplex 755 mid-tower with a trusty old 2.66ghz Core 2 Duo, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, and a low end HDMI-out video card....oh, and an ipac 2 plus a trackball with a controller from groovy game gear. I'll update this post with pics this week (should be finished). Any questions are welcome, I appreciate advice on what to do differently on the next cab as well. Thanks for looking! p.s.- sor…

Hi. I have have no experience with wood working so my questions is: Any router will be good for slot cutting? For example cheapest router for 30 pounds? I know i need to buy bits for router so price for 3 off them is 35 pounds. So this set well be good for t molding? Router ~30 + bits 35=65 pounds.... Size of MDF is 18 mm "To cut the correct slot for standard arcade T-moulding you need: - 6702A Slot cutter (Diam 47.63mm Kerf 2.03mm) - B25 Bearing (Outer Diam 28.58mm, Inner Diam 7.94) - A200B Arbor (Shank 6.35mm)"

Hey guys, This is my first foray into the world of arcade cabinets, just wanted to show it off! I bought the base unit from ArcadeWorx with the following modifications/installed components: i5 3.4Ghz, 16GB DDR3, 2x4TB HDD, Silly amounts of cooling. Frosted acrylic behind cut outs. Cheap ebay lighting strips Cheap 2 channel logitech sound system UltimaRC Trackball 26" IPS LCD 5ms (Asus something or other) And what I've ordered but is yet to arrive: Leap Motion sensor for 'touch screen' and gestures. Hope this will eliminate the keyboard necessity. Chrome trim Acrylic screen cover (Prevent fingerprints on LCD when using touch screen) Ultra brig…

I've been building mame cabinets for a couple years and I've installed hyperspin in each one. My next project is a hyperpin build, that I plan to document better then this set of cabinets. My first machine was an entirly custom cabinet that I plan to keep. It's made out of oak and perfect for my space. 4 players, trackball, spinner, and 2 lightguns My next two builds were for friends. Their cabinets were golden tee and silver strike bowling Both machines had joysticks and buttons added. Silver Strike bowling was left mostly original looking, and I installed an A/B switch on the monitor, so it could play both hyperspin and bowling. The next cabinet was found…

Hi Guys, I planned to use the bartop kit from TinyArcadeMachine and then pair it with the compatible artwork PSD from mikekim on the FTP. However, TinyArcadeMachine is out of stock and won't have anything in stock for a while -- their CNC guy is out of commission at the moment. As a result, I'm planning to grab a kit from ArcadeWarp, but how do I go about creating artwork to fit the kit's dimensions -- particularly the curved edges at the top?? Thanks so much, I'm sure I'm overthinking it, but it's driving me nuts! Owen

Been working on Programing forever it seems like, but finally getting ready to build my first cab. Was planning on building the entire thing until I came across this on Kijiji in my area for $50. Someone has already torn it apart but still has monitor glass, marquee glass, speakers, coin doors and seems to be very solid. Also has brand new T molding on entire cab. Control panel is rough so probably going to build a new one from scratch. Was planing on putting a flat screen in for monitor but wanted some feedback on if i should change the angle that should mount it. I see on many others that have used flat screens they have them mounted almost vertical or just a bit ang…

Hey all newbie to the forum and looking for some info. Looking at building a cabinet, like the look of the signs people use the ones that are like the ones used for stock market tickers. Wondering which brand to get and are easiest to use with hyperspin, and were to buy them. Also what the right term is for these signs when searching Google. Having trouble finding what am looking for, in the correct size. Also wondering what people are using for lighting was thinking about rgb led strip but no idea how to intergrate with hyperspin in regards to colour change on off etc. Help appreciated look forward to replies cheers.

As a child of the 80's, I was greatly influenced by Tron. I decided to make a custom Tron Cabinet which is now pretty much done. I am running HS as the front-end with the x-arcade as the control hub. I shelled my system to boot directly to HS so it feels very authentic. Game On!

Hello all I’m Chris I'm really not one for posting on forums but wanted to show what the HyperSpin program has made me do Well about November last year I thought I have to sort out my all my arcade ROMs from years ago they have just been lying about on my D: Drive when one day I came across HyperSpin and thought this would be awesome to setup and organize all my emulators at same time. I knew I always wanted an Arcade Machine so about 6 months ago I came up with a basic design and started to build it and I had no idea how I was going to mount the monitor, I got a cheap X-Arcade from think geek but plan to modify it and one day in the future after everything is done ju…

On my mame cabinet, I had the arcade monitor working but someone changed my resolution settings. I tried to change them back to 640 x 480 60 hertz but I am still getting ''out of range". Let me know if you need anymore info to help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all. Just thought I'd share my first build that my friend and i made together. We wanted a clean panel with enough room for 4 guys to be comfortable, which is why you won't see anything but sticks and buttons. However, we designed it in a way that can easily be swapped out with other panels if you choose to. I plan on making another 2 player panel with a trackball, flight stick, and possibly a steering wheel. Might get a couple of guns, but that's for later. It's made out of paint grade MDF with a industrial conversion varnish topcoat (much more durable than paint). It can be completely broken down and moved with ease so it can actually fit through a doorway. …

Hey guys Just decased a hu196d monitor I got off eBay to measure it up for my bartop. The PCB is a little more complex than I had anticipated and I am not sure how to wire up the power switch to an arcade button. The first pic shows the push to make buttons - the middle one that sits higher than the others with the led next to it is the power switch. When I flip it round, the switch has 4 pins solders to the PCB, when I was only expecting 2. The 2 pins closer together are for the led. My initial guess is that a run wires from each of the pins to my arcade micro switch, connecting a matching pair from each side of the push to make switch to a single pin on the arcad…

Hello! I want to start by thanking everyone for all of their help! The amount of knowledge and resources on this site is incredible. I've been on a mission to finish my bartop arcade cabinet ever since I found about Hyperspin hehe. I finally received my kit from Tippers27 this week and I'm eager to get started. I'm basically replicating mikekim's Retrocade, he was kind enough to supply the PSD files for his artwork and my goal is to make it look as close as possible to the original Tinyarcade kit and Mikes build! Below is Mikes build, its beauuuutiful! lol http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?17297-Retrocade-bartop This is the kit I bought: I got a blank…
