Having used Visual Pinball for some time (with VPMan as the front end), I am interested in looking at setting up a cabinet type (portrait) arrangemnt. At the moment, I don't intend building any sort of cabinet, although who knows!, it will just be by setting up two monitors. I recently found this forum and realised that using Hyperpin or Hyperspin (I'm not sure of the difference) would be an ideal launcher. I have a lot to learn about it and it is a little daunting at the moment, but no doubt I'll find the various answers to the questions I have as I go through the forums. One thing I'm a bit confused with are the ROMs. I forget the exact wording of the rules etc. but …

I am in the process of having a VPin table built & once the build commences I will start a build thread elsewhere here. (43" playfield, 32" Back Monitor, 15" DMD Monitor, Led-wizz, contactors, shaker motors, tilt, plunger etc) In the meantime a friend of mine who runs a pub is very interested in having one of these machines in the pub. I don't want to do anything illegal so does anyone have any info on obtaining licensee from:- Hyperpin Visual Pinball Future Pinball Bally / Williams And if the Bally / Williams ones are no go then I could always try some well made tables that are available? Of course if the cost of all of the above is prohibitive then it's a n…

Have a new Vishay dmd for sale that has only been turned on twice, once when I first got it make sure there were no dead pixels and my pindmd worked, and once to shoot the video down below. This is the segmented version. I am collecting parts for a cab build and have decided to go a different direction as far as dmd's go. So first come first serve, $250 shipped takes it, US only. If you have any question feel free to ask. Thanks! http://s3.photobucket.com/user/DuffBeerMan/media/MVI_0524.mp4.html

So I narrowed down most of my minor issues now that I have a virtuapin encoder/plunger and no longer using a keyboard and I'm left with one PITA issue. In Hyperpin I can not exit a VP or FP table with the virtuapin encoder that I just got. I've been using a keyboard for the last 2 months testing and 'E' (long and short) works every time (and still does) but Button 8 - Exit table on the controller does not. I ran joy.cpl and tested the button so it's not a hardware issue but software related. Any ideas? Z

I see everyone mainly uses samsung displays? Is there a reason for this? Or just happens to be the norm? When looking for a display for a playfield are there things i should really look out for?

It seems you guys generally frown upon using hyperspin for any kind of profit. I spent lots of time and money building this cab and what like to make it worth it for me to bring it out to events. Im not expecting to make bank but at least some money for gas and my time. I was wondering if it was possible to control the loading of games in hypserpin with a coin door. I know arcade games work with credits but how would I control console games and pc games? Here is a progress shot from a few days ago. The cab is semi taken apart here.

I'm doing research for building a Hyperpin cabinet soon and was wondering after seeing threads here of actually DMD boards used instead of a 3rd LCD monitor to display the DMD, and finding this to make things look even more awesome would be a color DMD, any thoughts on if this would work for VP or FP in my build...?!?

Hello There, Currently i am building a hyperpin machine based on a real demolition man wide body. (i will create a topic with the build.) Now im doing the software part but i got a question. I am going with a 3 monitor setup, now here comes my question. I tried to do the full cabinet tables from VP but on the backglass monitor i also get the dmd part. Only i want the translite part on it. Am i using the wrong tables or is it a setting that i must adjust.

I've got my 3 screens set to plain black background right now but I was wondering if it is even possible to create something that would look good on a 3 screen cabinet. It would be cool to have a background that showed the hyperpin logo in the right aspect ratio for each screen. Or even for the playfield and backglass, maybe the dmd is pushing it. For instance, I have monitors set up in what I think is the standard pattern from left to right [playfield 1920x1080] [backglass 1280x1024] [dmd 800x600 but only the top 1/4 is showing]

I'm new around here, still working on getting my cabinet built and far from the developer I wish I was when it comes to adding functionality, but had a thought this morning that I don't know if it's been thought of before or not. PAPA has been churning out a ton of great videos of top down tutorials, game play, and tournament play. And with their successful kickstarter, hopefully there will be a LOT more to come. But the videos they make are all in a portrait format that would be awesome if displayed on a playfield monitor that's already set up for such a thing. I just wonder if there would be a way to set up some sort of RSS feed that could pull in the links to the…

So I just recently was introduced to this world or virtual pinball.... I swear I was up watching videos and reading posts till about 5am I was so excited. I had a nice collection of pins about 10 yrs ago (TZ, NGG, ST:TNG, BOP, FH, and a few odd balls like safecracker, Banzai Run, etc). I sold them ALL to buy our current house (had newborn on the way) and OF COURSE- I kick myself for not at least saving the Twilight Zone or ONE of them! Sigh- it seemed like the only opton at the time, og well... cant change the past. Anyways, since then Ive slowly begun building back my gameroom. I started with a homebuilt MAME cabinet... and I spared little expense...and I spent DAYS g…

Like the title says, what tables couldn't you live without that uses an extra set of flipper buttons? Really torn if I should add a second set for tables like black knight for the magna save, but don't want the clutter/need for the buttons of they are only used 5% of the time? Anyone regret not adding or adding their second set of buttons behind the flippers? Thanks!

I got the directB2S backglasses working but I had to turn off the use backglass setting in Hyperpin to keep it from conflicting with the served up backglass. Is there a way to set it up so that HyperPin only displays the backglass while previewing tables and then lets VP display the backglass when the table is executed? Thanks, Gil

Hi Guys my Cabinet has been playing perfectly for a longtime and noticed some of the re-releases of older tables require a newer version of Visual Pinball, Do i just download the stand alone 9.1.5 exe and replace my older exe ( should i rename the new version to match my older working version ? ) Thanks guys!! Im hoping having to redo everthing and thought that might work.

I'm currently redesigning the menus in Hyperpin and some of the image assets appear to be missing. Specifically the wheel underlay, the hyperpin logo on top of the wheel underlay, and the "Back/Exit/Shutdown" menu. After doing some reading in the help file I found the solution to the wheel underlay but can't find any solutions for replacing/editing the hyperpin logo on top of the wheel underlay and the "Back/Exit/Shutdown" menu. I can understand why the logo may be hands off and I'm totally fine with not being able to edit it but I'd still like to be able to edit the "Back/Exit/Shutdown" menu. Has anyone been able to edit any of these assets? If so, how did you do it…

Would anyone be interested in seeing a listing of the tables and the current status. I tend to find it hard to know if something has been updated. Perhaps loading it into the Downloads section for tables etc or otherwise a sticky with the information in the first pot. Perhaps headings like following Name : Who : Date of Last Update : Status : Link to Thread : Status (Final/RC/Beta/WIP) Aloha (Gottlieb 1961) : Popotte : 04/29/2009 : FINAL : Attack & Revenge From Mars (Bally 1999) : JP Salas : 05/21/2009 : FINAL : Attack from Mars (Bally 1995) : JPG-Pins, JPSalas and Groni : 05/02/2009 : FINAL : Attack From Mars : JP Salas : 6/02/2009 : FINAL :…
