Hey guys. Been trying to figure this out. Today I hacked an LED arcade button to power up my Dell 790 Optiplex SFF. Success. The button acts just as a power button would do. Press it to boot computer, press to go into hibernate and hold down to power off. Only problem I have is a Dell diagnostic program giving me a message .... "Alert. Power Button Cable failure." Here is the message... When I press F2 it takes me to the BIOS. Here is a pic with all the settings opened... More settings... Here is what I get when I press F5. It's Dell's ePSA program. Self diagnostics. It spots a difference in the power cable I hacked. And another... …

Short story long......I had built a cabinet back in 2000 that was dismantled, destroyed and out of commission about 4 years ago (damn ex-wife). Thanks to COVID, and the first stay home order in my area back in April, I got bored and needed something to do with my stay at home time. So I decided it was time to build another game. The stay at home only lasted two weeks, so it has been weekends only since then, but I finally finished! I used the marquee graphics from my original cabinet, but everything else is new. And thanks to many of you on in the emulation and hyperspin communities, my new cabinet is so much better than I could have imagined!

Hi guys, Currently been furloughed and looking to keep busy and am looking into building a cocktail table arcade machine so when we go back to normal we have a new toy for myself and the lads to play pre party time :) I have so far built the PC under windows 7 x86 and it works well with an i5 quad core and 4gb ram, mapping the controls and setting up cocktail modes arent an issue, but the main bit I am trying to achieve is a nice front end that is fairly simple. What Id like if possible is a version of Hyperspin without all the consoles etc, just with a list of the 20 odd games I am looking to run with MAME, so we have a nicely polished arcade box for high …

Now, It's almost ready. I've put together an actual cabinet! I'm just lacking the art vinyls, a nice bezel and some glass. Say, should I prime/paint the surfaces I intend to put vinyl over?

So short story: We now have an WS2812B Led controller that works with Ledblinky and will drive upto 85 leds, I have tested 14. for the cost of an Arduino Leonardo or clone. around $5 to $10. It took me a few weeks to debug and find out why the code was not working from a hackaday project but i fixed it and updated it. https://hackaday.io/project/174056-ledblinky-controller-ws2812-arduino-usb-spi-update I also ran into something like a ipac clone that i have not tried yet: If link ever stops working look for "KADE arcade input controller " http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=154126.0 The Kade should work with the same micro control…

I plan to use the standard Japanese arcade layout. https://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/layout/cluster36_s.png I have a horizontal lines across my control panel to line up the prints. If I rotate the print out so the angled box is on my horizontal lines the buttons are comfortable for me, but should I use the extra dots to change placement of buttons because I angled it? What about the joy stick should I use the dot below it? I get the dot to the right of the joy is for using when you remove the left two buttons. Or am I just completely wrong? Any help thanks for your time

I'm working on my first HyperSpin cabinet, have been planning to buy an OptiPlex 7010, i7-3770 processor, 16gb ram, and SSD drive. It's really important that I'll be able to play the TaitoX2 games and HyperNeoGeo games with a high quality / FPS. I'm considering these graphic cards: 1050ti 750ti 1030 If anyone has experience with playing these systems it would be great to hear your opinion on how these graphics cards might perform. Thanks!

This cabinet includes lightguns with recoil, 4 slot coin mech, RGB LED buttons, and of course the LCD marquee! I need to start logging my hours on these things but it was probably a few hundred hours to complete. Enjoy! Thanks for everything, bros. Gallery: http://imgur.com/a/5mcSx

So I have the pc that I am working on with Hyperspin to run all my systems. Some day I plan to build the cabinet but for now I'm debating on upgrading the video card. I forget what's in now but it's working fine for everything but I want to get going on more high-end emulation like Tytotype X and maybe even PS2 etc. Would something like this be sufficient or should I just spend the extra 70 bucks or so and get something like a 1050ti? My pc is a small formfactor case so that's why these are the small formfactor cards. If I was building the cabinet soonish I'd probably just look to do an open air make shit type test best for the pc components and not worry about the …

I bought a multicade from someone second hand that leverages hyperspin. It’s set up for two players and I’d like to upgrade the control panel significantly to a 4 player with track ball, aviation stick, and tornado spinner. Recommendations on how to best do this without knowing how it was built?

Anyone have this type of cabinet (Extreme Home) that they can provide the measurements on for the base? I am not good at woodworking and appreciate any help to just get me started. This looks like the easiest to cut out. Thank you.

Hi all. very new to this, but a bit handy when it comes to building stuff. A good friend of mine showed me his bartop machin that he was in the process of buillding and after looking at some of the games etc (running on pi) i was wowed. decided to have a go myself as I was off work over xmas.....so it begins... Had a look around the web for the kind of machine I wanted to build but nithing really caught my eye so went with a standard kind of cabinet - no sizes or plans, just a little sketch on the back of a used envelope and away we go - only consideration I had to make was the screen size. Popped to my local currys/pc world - had a look, wanted …

So ive decided to do a mini build based on the XU4. So far ive got the base board and sides with components in place ready to wire up. After some opinions on whats the best way for powering on and off. Sorry for the crap diagram. This is what im thinking... Incoming supply is 12V 6amp , positive wire goes straight to the power switch on the front right side. Its a latching switch.. This then comes out the switch and powers a 12volt to 5v usb power hub (Middle Circuit board) Shown Below This board will be used to power a 1tb ssd housed in the screen area. Plus the screen. Plus anything else needing 5v. I needed this as there are…
