Hi I have a 42 LCD tv waiting to be used in a new cab. Will this do a good enough job or is it really worth investing in an led? Seems a lot of money to so end when I have this good tv already, but then before I spend hours on the cabinet I want to make sure I will be happy with the result. Also is 42 a good size or would 46 give much improved results, it seems most of you go for 46 now? I also have a 32 lcd for the back box, i Again is it worth the money for a new led?

Greetings, I am FuZZy from Belgium and i am building a cabinet with Alien vs Predator theme. Here's my history: In heart i have always been a gamer, when i was a teenager i entered the world of console gaming. From Santa i got a Nintendo Entertainment System which was pretty popular back then. Switching games with friends was common, unfortunately a lot of them are lost or stupidly sold now lol :-) Off course back in those days arcade cabinets were on every carnival, so i played those a lot to. Over the years i also had a SNES, then switched to computer gaming for many years, and switching back to consoles with PS2, PS3 and who knows what the future will bring. I have …

Hello , My name is Nick 29 years old (from belgium) i am new on this forum and this is my first build so here we go First i found a plan on the internet i got one from jacobud. after a lot of mesurements and calculating i got my plan finished. it looks pretty good i think side art colors seems to be off but thats my camera irl it looks mutch better i go with an lcd screen , so i ordered a slg3000 better shot of the bezel (what you see on the glass is reflection of light) putting the cab together with some L brackets works very good the strip you see in front is just to hold the cab together , will be removed later cutting the ba…

Here is a Superman cocktail cab I just finished. It was based off the old comics. To bad the new Superman was a let down. I would have done it on the new movie.

ok so I have never built a full cab just computers. I have recently come into a neogeo MVS with everything working and would love to convert it into my mame cab. My question is some guidance on the best rout. First I want to keep the original moniotor in place, how do I keep this and hook it up to my computer? The CP, do I need to rewire all this into an IPAC? Thanks

Hi guys, I posted a few months ago with my first video of cabinet (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?23740-my-attempt-at-hyperspin) Im looking at making the first steps towards RL.0 so thought I would show off latest attempts on here with the end of HL2.0 I haven't really done anything to the cab itself, it needs to be finished off around the monitor still and a big mean paint job (hopefully by end of year), but I sat back down and got stuck into this for a couple weeks to get rid of silly bugs and annoying things and took time to add Marquee Images to most my games as well as background images etc (just xbox 360,xbox original, pc games, ps2, ps3, trifor…

I know it's not much. I just don't have the carpentry skills and neither the tools :/ So I ended up just modding the x-arcade heavily and buying a cab for it. I changed the t-molding though =D And added two extra buttons to start and to exit games. ----EDIT------ Because of the fear of the tv falling I ended up buying a mount. And now the tv's part of the cab =D Edit Again: Hmmm not sure why the uploader rotated my pictures. I'm sure you guys can make out what's in the pic

Guys, I need your help once again. I plan to build a bartop, so at the moment I muse about how many buttons are useful for hyperspin. I had seen that some people use three buttons for the menu (pause, exit and select), ok and of course the obligatory 1P start and coin buttons. By now I only have experience with hyperpin. In hyperpin I have use only 1P start and exit and this was more than enough for the menu. Could you guys please tell me wherefor a select button makes sense in hyperspin? And what do you think, is this enough (start, exit, coin, pause and select) for a 1P bartop? Or is it to mutch? Ok, I know I need besides some action buttons.

Hey all, I thought I would share a few marquee layout/designs I did. Just want to become more involved within the Hyperspin community. My profession is a graphic designer. Hope you like them. GARTH Click to enlarge images below.

Could the AMD A10-6800K handle nfl blitz in mame? Need to find a CPU that has hyperspin-compatible integrated graphics.

This is my first attempt at creating an arcade cabinet. I had two goals: 1) To see if I could do it and 2)to do it as cheaply as possible I had to settle on an X-Arcade Stick for time reasons...way simpler than wiring the controls myself I decided on an X-Men theme since I play a lot of Marvel vs Capcom as well as grew up playing the X-Men arcade game...for the graphics I used Fatheads..recently, I saw my Wolverine laying on the floor in a jumbled mess, i fixed him and used some spray glue to hold him up...might have to do that to the rest of the characters The other side of the cabinet has graphics of Nightcrawler and Colossus..I can't find the pics of them right now…

And if so what wires or other things do I need to make the wiring work? Thanks in advance!

Hi all ! Here's my little story as introduction : a friend of mine is a retro-gamer and collector, he gots his hand on a Sega Blast City Arcade cabinet, without PCB and without the screen. He'd like a working Arcade machine, I mean, "fake", with a PC running emulators & of course.. HyperSpin ! (he had an old cabinet like that with an old PC (I mean.. OLD!) barely running mame...didn't really look good and I showed him HyperSpin that I accidentally discovered on the internet and he was amazed) (example of this cabinet taken from another forum) Where am I involved here? I'm not good at electronics and neither am I a DIY man (not really good with screwdrivers if u …

I have been searching for a while now everywhere on what is the best way to changed the Joystick on my x-arcade tankstick. All I want is a ball top joystick. Then I found this website... http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=381 This seem like an easy way to get a ball top joystick. No need to change anything else, just the shaft. Or am I not understanding something? Does it work if I do that? But if you guys have any Joystick suggestions that does not require any major modding the x-arcade. Please let me know guys. Thanks!

If I might crave your indulgence please, I'd really appreciate yet more advice. I am in the process of wiring an iPac Encoder in a cabinet, all the buttons are mapped out OK except as follows. On the Encoder, I have two points marked !A & !B, and similarly on the other side, 2A & 2B. On the cabinet I have four buttons as yet unused. Two are on the front panel, to the right hand side and sited below the monitor, and these are quite close together. The other two are on the side panels (where you'd have flippers, were it a pinball). The two on the side I'd like to set up in Hyperspin so that they boot up and shut down the cabinet. I'm not asking how to shell wi…

Hey Guys, first post (I believe...) Confession time. I've been a lurker on these forums and have been gathering resources, tips and tricks, and lots and lots of research on building a Hyperspin arcade machine. I'm a full time Director of Tech. at my place of worship, and to help kick off our summer events and give a shot in the arm for our youth group, I spent the last 3-4 weeks building this massive 4-player cabinet with Hyperspin as the frontloader. I'm 6' 0", and this thing is just a hair under 7'. It rolls on 4 casters, and as we rolled it under our doorways, there is literally 1-2mm left for clearance. Hey...I wanted this thing to be as big as I could! Action …

This is my cab near finished! Software is 97% complete, and the hardware is put together with the exception of the bezel which I will put together this weekend... Stickers for the side and control panel are being made also. Check out the boot up and shutdown sequence! Also, check out my channel which is exclusively about my cabinet building progress! I need some feedback for the current and future builds, so feel free to post here and on my videos! Ohh, and 5D stands for Fifthdread... Fifthdread is like my online alias... lol

I decided to start a new arcade since my last build. I learned a lot from that build and debated on posting preliminary pictures of this one. Working full-time and starting grad school means this will be a slow build. However, after searching a lot of custom arcade, I decided to go with a 6ft version of RidicRick's ArchAngel build. His build and MK9 coming out on PC are where the inspiration came from for this cab. As this progresses I will update the thread with build pics. 29" LED Vizio TV xbox 360 MK9 control panel Special Thanks RidickRick for his build plans Jumpstile for helping out with MAME builds and random questions

Does anyone know whether its an easy task to set the coin slot on an arcade cabinet, to free play? The inside of the door has HI-09UCS and 500 written in a small white block. When I open the door, the part where the coin drops through first, opens up 90 degrees and on the side there are 4 compass points where you can insert a small screwdriver, apart from which, if that's where I need to change the priority, I can't see any other point there that can be adjusted, I have tried all 4 different positions, so it doesn't seem it's a simple case of turning that each time. I'm sure it can be set to free play, but I can't remember what was said when I got it.
