Hey Everyone, Wanted to get everyone to weigh in on their experiences with both. i have the .139u set that works with Mame4Droid, but as of lately i've been using the Mame Git (nightly) in retroarch with my .174 romset and havent had any issue of slowdown or anything. Of course Mame4Droid using the older romset tend to be faster because of emulation inaccuracies, but with Nightly allowing more systems to be playable, i lean towards Mame Git and haven't experienced any slow down on the previously well emulated items, only things like Namco 22 or Model 1,2,3 have 60% speed. So im about to just remove the old romset from my drive. Anyone else have any thought…

Hi Guys, I have killed my HS/RA setup AGAIN My fault I was messsing with a ne 8bitdo SFC30 controller and overwrote my HS launched retroarch.cfg so now I cannot get into the retroarch menu and my exit key dont work. RA 1.3.6 Anyway I noticed that my RetroArch cores, config and default folders have changed location from "data/data" to "data/user/0" and the file browser for changing directories now wont let me access "data/data" thus rendering the config trick obsolete. @reznnate are you aware of this issue and is there a possibility of testing a change to the Hyperspin Libretro activity/intent to reflect the new location? I saw that on dolphin website : In June 2015, the new Android 5.0 UI became the only Android phone UI with the removal of the original Android UI SonicAdvance1 unenthusiastically slapped together a couple years before. Considering how Android devices are barely fast enough to run games now, imagine being a developer several years ago working on the Android builds. The setup of Atari 5200, Atari 7800 (before Prosystem core was fixed) and Mattel Intellivision with the Mess core was quite painful. Mess requires very specific bios files in very specific places and everything must be named exactly right. I couldn't find anything like this in the PC HSPIN community so I renamed everything by hand. (BTW, I haven't bothered with any other systems) A few tips... 1. Need to set/define a 'system' rom folder for retroarch in settings->Directories 2. Hi everyone. I recently bought a pre-loaded 2TB drive for use with my shieldTV. I was wondering if there is an easy way to add emulators and roms to the existing setup?? Im a huge commodore fan and already have full romsets for most systems. Ive done some sniffing around for packs but as yet havent really found anything. If theres a noob friendly tutorial out there could someone point me? or if you've got time, help me out with some tips? thanks moondog

So I watched a few hours of tutorials, spent a night downloading latest mame hyperspin rocket launcher roms and trial and error with two different joysticks to find out from this forum that hyperspin can't use xbox controller or my logitic gamepad w/o 3rd party software. Also found out what a time and commitment it's going to be to get the hyperspin emuvideos controller, other emulators and rooms put in place to relive my childhood video game experience. I know Reznnate has this working, but has anyone else??? I need an idiots guide for this one :/ Downloaded mess, extracted the hash folder put it in (com.retroarch/system/mame/) tried ROMs in (com.retroarch/system/mame/a5200) & (com.retroarch/system/mame/) with the BIOS in (com.retroarch/system/mame/a5200/a5200/) named it (a5200.zip) and still can't get it to load, I've even matched the rom names to the hash (a5200.xml) :/ If anyone can do a guide it will be much appreciated

I'm now setting up my third shield. If you just want to play older games you can't beat how simple it is to set these up. I may eventually get one for myself haha

Awesome forum, have been able to most everything I need up an running just by reading through. Out of the 40 plus systems I now have up and running I still can't get Atari 7800 to work, when I click on a game it kicks me out of retroarch and hyperspin and brings me back to my shields home screen. At first I thought may it was a theme issue but I have now tried a few different ones with same result. Just an FYI they updated the core yesterday but it still doesn't work for Shield TV. This is on both current stable build and a nightly build of retroarch. Didn't want others to waste their time trying the latest core.

My main thing to have Hyperspin and 2 of my android based consoles in my home for handling emulation. The problem is: Reicast (dreamcast) is DEAD There are NO Android Dolphin Devs anymore, causing all the new releases to have broken controls and dolphin bar support is spotty at best. Openbor is compiled but doesnt work well for controllers or hyperspin Mugen has zero support except for Paintown which hasnt been updated to work on modern devices in years. And Dosbox allows only OLD dosmugen to work, not without some heavy tweaks. MAME on android needs a huge Open GL ES 3.1 or Vulcan boost so that better games can be supported and played. Does anyone have a working version of mario kart for SNES for Retroarch? No I am not asking for your version lol I am asking if anyone has one in general. I have tried many different sources and retroarch just closes. This is for PC and android... very very very annoying. Its why I stopped using retroarch for PC in the first place. Was hoping I wouldn't have the issue on android... sure enough its still there. Worried there could be other SNES roms that do the same thing. I rather not have to use a different emulator on my shield but may have to. Anyone else seeing this issue?
