Hello! First post! After many years of procrastination, I'm finally starting my Arcade Cabinet build! So I've decided to start a thread to document my build. I decided I wanted to build a reproduction of one my favorite cabinets... not necessarily favorite game. Tempest, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Centipede and Defender were all close contenders... but I've settled on Asteroids Deluxe. I love the side panel art and was able to find high res scans of all the art at http://www.arcadeartwork.org ... but I do really like the game. Im a little worried about the side panels interfering with 2 player play. Im going to do a mockup this weekend to test if thats the cas…

Hi everybody, I'm starting my new project and i will post here my ongoing work, using your advice to improve my design. it's an arcade cabinet for 2 player based on a kind of vewlix style that will fit a 32" flat screen. The idea is to integrate my gaming PC inside and play retro and current game. It will be slighty higher than the vewlix in order to be used either standing or on a high chair. The control panel will be removable to be able to switch from arcade style to mouse / keyboard game style. You can find attached to this message the draft of the control panel layout. Here is a first 3D render of the cabinet. NEXT STEP : Inside desig…

Ok, so here's a bartop that I converted to a full size. The bartop I bought as a bare wood kit, and the design was trash. Even to fit buttons I had to customize it. Everything had to be re cut, done over, etc. Nothing was sized right, for instance the marque isn't even a scaled down version of most marquee sizes. It's an oddball size, so most marquees will look poor scaled down. This was just a couple examples, garbage purchase off ebay. This was before I thought about getting into woodworking and everything that this entails. Anyways, so I did everything else myself and I'm very proud of it haha. The bottom half of the arcade, the painting (buffed down r…

Hi Guys, its been a while but I have finally got back onto the project. (having a second child has drained me lol) The build is nearly complete but im having trouble with the power button that connects to the motherboard, this is what I bought below:- Before installing the power button I have fully tested everything with the below and all is turning on/off fine, no problems The issue seems to be linked to how I am connecting the "POWER SWITCH" wire to this new power button. It turns on fine but then after 10 seconds the whole machines turns off! See the wiring I have done below:- I'm really not sure what is going wrong with this power…

Hey wveryone Been a minute since I’ve posted anything but check this out, have no idea if this has been posted here. Instead of buying those super expensive bar slim lcd’s for hypermarquee, this guy used regular plexi, rear projection film and a cheap pico rear projector. Simple, awesome and it works!

The CRT, console, sound amp and marquee light all power up together, no tv remote necessary to get to game mode, it boots automatically It looks, plays, and sounds amazing, it's up for sale if anyone is interested... Hi all. New to the forum because I work for an estate that will be selling a complete cabinet system but I need help identifying what this is. The front graphics say "ASTRARCADE". Searching for that online has turned up nothing for me. It has a drive inside the cabinet with the label "G41M-P23 System Hyperspin 2.0" Does anybody know who made this and where I could find more information? My boss is going to want to find out what it is worth so we can list it appropriately. Thanks

Good day ladies and gentlemen. I have a question for you all. Where would you recommend to purchase controls. I've researched companies but I seem to only find the two from the UK. What I'm looking for is a set of joysticks with buttons for a 2 player set up. Roller ball / trackball as well as 2 guns. I was hoping to purchase as a complete set but I guess its not required ( as long as they are all compatible ). This will be my first arcade build so please bare with this newbie. It will be a pc based system utilizing the usb. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank and have a great day!

Hello guys, im working on my hyperspin cabinet and im runing out of ideas. last weekend i got this 29 sony trinitron tv, it is really huge and has a nice sound 3.1, so, i was thinking about the design of the cabinet and to be honest i dont want to dissamble it, since i dont have any experience at all, so i was thinking about paint it black mate, and build the cabinet around it, so my initial idea was something elegant like the image below, but it wont work because of the speakers, then i saw the sega naomi cabinet, buy what do u guys think about it? any ideas are welcome thx in advance.

First I would like to thank all the people who have made hyperspin What it is. When I heard about it several years ago. It inspired me to build my first. Since then I've built a starwars and most recent a mk2. I've tried to learn though the forums. Its been painstaking at times , but well worth it. H e res some pics.

Hey guys, I just finished making these new 40" cabinets, really happy with how they turned out! What do you think? Custom 4TB HS system with Aimtracks (thanks to about 1000hrs of youtube videos) (hyperpie in the pics, but that's no more) Im a bit stuck though with graphics etc... at the very least I need some artwork for the control board to label buttons etc. ive seen so many designs, but want ours to be a little different, but not over the top, I don't want to take too much away from that amazing gloss black finish Im not very arty im afraid, so I could really use some help or ideas or thoughts from you graphics guys with this. cheer…

I am having a rough time getting my joy sticks and buttons mapped for my cabinet project. I have Hyperspin installed and running it was previously set up with xpadder for use with an Xbox controller. I have watched several tutorials and the best I can get is the joysticks to work. Any advise would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I’m wondering what elegant solutions people have come up with to display the controls for games (what button does what action)... i’m thinking of using the marquee as the place to put a custom image. i have a pedastal setup, so instead of a wide marquee above i could put it in the center of the pedastal by the player start/coin buttons. does such a set exist?

I'm pretty new to hyperspin Im building a full size arcade cab and I purchased a pc that has hyperspin 16tb (internal 8tb & ext 8tb) dell optiplex.has over 70k games on it. All the games that run using mame have this God awful shader on them that gives the games a retro look. (big pixels) it ruins the games they look terrible and I have been trying for weeks to figure out how to remove the shaders so the games will look like they originally did in the arcades. (I have some knowledge of how the hyperspin stuff works and file systems and all but im pretty new to this. Can someone please please please tell me how to remove the shader. Thanks for any help or insight you m…

Hi, I am hoping to build a 2 player arcade bench to go with my hyperspin PC. However, I have some questions about a few things which I've struggled to find an answer to on Google. So, I would firstly like to know if i could make the 2 player fight controller compatible with both my PC and PS4? I've googled this, and I get the impression that the PS4 would not be able to take advantage of a two player controller with a single USB connection. Is this correct? If So, I was thinking, would it work if I had two separate USB connections for the player one and player two, but obviously have both wires coming out of the same arcade bench (I'm doing an Ikea lac…

I am getting started building a cabinet for a good friend of mine that lives across town. we were wondering if there was a way we could sync highscores maybe by emailing a file to one another when a new score is achieved? the thing I'm worried about though is that when he emails me a file with a new score for say centipede it will erase recent scores on other games I have not synced with him. Is anyone doing something similar to this is there an easy way?

I finally decided to post some photo of my dual monitor cabinet, started to build around 1 years ago using some part of my first cab (this is my second work) and building from zero the other, but there is still a lot of work to do! the main monitor is a 27" samsung, the upper screen it's a 25" LG ultrawide is used as "marquee monitor" . All the button and joystick are RGB, decals are self drawed (by me) and printed on vinyl adesive. Computer Spec: Windows 7 x64 , Intel Core I3 3220T, Motherboard Asrock H77 PRO4-M, 8Gb RAM DDR3, AMD Radeon HD7750, 1Tb WD Blue HDD here some fast (and old) photo of the cab and a little demostration of the…

After roaming the forums for quite some time, I decided to upload my build and maybe help anyone having similar issues I had. I don't have much room in my home and did not want my cab in the garage, so I wanted to do a slim cabinet. I searched everywhere for plans but ended up making my own using Inventor.
