Finding right MAME version with its roms such a #%^&*, well u know what i mean. Now after 3 months, i finally can play it using joystick with JoyToKey, and the setting seem quite good. FYI im using old pc with 1gb ram but it run smoothly and i m satisfied with it.only MAME installed, not for other emulator yet. I m now looking for archade control panel before i can build the cabinet. still looking the right button and stick availabe out there, if u please guide me on this....

Hi, I decided to build my own bartop cab. For the monitor I'll buy a Dell 19" or 20" on eBay, an MiniATX motherboard with a core2duo CPU and a SSD only for booting Windows. I think I'll use illuminated buttons. So can you hell me with the choice of the buttons and Joysticks. I'll also play Q*bert on the cab, so which Joystick may I buy? Which is the best online shop? What ist the best PCB to connect the buttons and sticks to the USB? best regards Gesendet von meinem LG-D855 mit Tapatalk

To start, let me say I have a bartop cabinet and I know that flipper buttons don't work well on some full size cabinets. After this disclaimer... These rock and make pinball games really enjoyable! My cabinet has been done for a short while but I just added the flipper buttons over the weekend. I've had them since I built the cabinet but wasn't sure how I wanted to wire them or if I even wanted them on the sides. I was playing pinball games with the topside CP buttons but, as you can image, it just wasn't the same. If you don't need to bear hug your control panel (on a large full size CP), these are a super cheap way to get the old school pinball feel!. You can ev…

Whats up! I posted over on BYOAC but thought I'd broaden my horizons for input over here. Long story short, my first hyperspin cabinet is gone, sold to the brother in law for cost of materials. Looking to build a more polished machine than the first one. Not that it was bad, but just spend a bit more time on the carpentry and design of it. There is a fella over on those forums who I owe a lot of credit to, OND. He has a thread over there that shows step by step how to build a machine, with plans. I'm taking some of his ideas, some of mine, and trying to tie it all together with some artwork yet to be decided. New design, like I said I'm not sure on a…

Considering building a new CP or maybe a new cab that is more versatile. I like the idea of small analog nubs in addition to a standard arcade joystick and buttons in a cab. This would allow a smaller CP with a lot more function. You could play every arcade game, PS2, GameCube, N64, etc. from a cab and not need external controllers. These "nubs" could be taken from a controller or bought raw at a low cost. Here are my points: 1) real all-in-one cab without obnoxious or huge CP 2) could leverage analog for gun games and mouse 3) 1 U360 controller cost $60 US and these are under $5 4) can easily fit these little guys in almost anywhere (great for retrofits) 5) play…

Not sure why I didn't know this before but I found out MAME supported dual monitors while trying to figure out how to get HLSL set up (which I couldn't get working) Once I got the monitor order right I went right to Super Punchout. One day I'll get the second monitor displaying marquees but for now, this makes me super happy.

Hello all, This will be a work in progress....I have had requests to do this mod for a member so I will document it here for you all. I'll start out with some teaser pics for now...Being that I had gotten these this week and it's mothers day this weekend I don't think I'll get time to do any modding...if I do get a chance to do some I'll be sure to post updates. Anyway here is some eye candy!!

Hello, To anyone who maybe interested I just recently set up a twitch/live stream on my arcade cabinet, it primarily features retro arcade and console games but should include a bit of everything. For now it's mainly just for fun and to hopefully capture some "golden runs" should my friends and I perform any great feats of gaming prowess. Eventually I'll probably make some of the videos into more formal game reviews or tip/tricks/walk through's. I make at least a few videos a week, and frequently have friends over for drinks and games on weekends. www.twitchtv.com/dark0verseer

Hi Folks, Not posted for a while but have been busy building a machine for a mate and I thought i'd share it with you. So story goes like this.... A few years back I bought x2 old gambling machines (1st pic), which I then promply converted into a games machine for the kids (2nd pic)... They have enjoyed many hours on this over the last year or so. So only a few weeks back my mate was in my garage and asked what i was doing with the other machine and joked about me converting it for his kids (him really).... So the build began... The following pics are a dump in order of the progress to date...Apologies for the lack of text between pics I'll update t…

I usually build full sized cabs with 2 8-way sticks but my sis only plays the older games when she uses my cab so I decided to make her a mini cab, tabletop style, using just a single 4 way HAPP stick. I found a list of games below that are natively 4 way and I had in my head the whole time that I only needed 2 buttons but then someone on the forum brought up Asteroids which uses 3 buttons (fire, thrust and hyperwarp). Does anyone know if 3 will be the right number or should I add a fourth for that unknown game that may need it? As with all my cabs, I'll be adding a P1, P2, Coin1, Coin2 and pause buttons as well. Thanks for your comments. Also feel free to add to the list…

How are people switching between digital and analog control configurations on newer arcade systems (such as Sega Naomi)? Obviously if you use a X360 or PS3 controller this isn't a problem but if you only have one joystick then you need to program it for digital on some games and analog on other games. Is there an automated way to do this? I know it can be done using per game configurations in the emulators or using per game changes in RL. Is there another, better way? Can I easily tell it just to use digital or analog? How do you handle this on your cabinet today?

As the title states, my build shall start. Nothing exciting for now just ordered all my hardware, buttons, interface, led controller, etc. I will be running this with an Intel board DB75EN has an i5-3470 8gb of ram running windows 7 I will be buying a video card that supports hdmi output. Still unsure what size monitor aka tv to go with as this will be a pedestal arcade. Already have the cabinet designed and in Aspire (CNC cutting software) just need to take the mdf to the workshop to cut it out. Started to play a little bit with graphics. Thought it would be cool to have a marquee over the tv even though its a pedestal arcade. Building a box with a light to make it loo…

It was a Oldie... it looks to be a Midway cab. The old PCB and both power supplies are shot along with the Tube. So I decide to do a Hyperspin Cab. I am planning on putting in a AMD quadcore with 4 gigs of ram and a 1tb drive. do I really need a Video card tho? Im confused do I use onboard or a add on card? Id like to play some of the NEWER games. but what games require hardware acceleration? and should I be concerned with Heat? should I leave the PC in the case or mount it to the wall of the Cab? http://imgur.com/a/HVsW6 The tube is deff toast... should I save anything off it?
