I'm nearing completion on the hardware side of my Hyperspin setup, but I'm still missing driving pedals. What I am looking for is a decent set of analog pedals (gas and brake), similar to the ones that usually come with your average pc steering wheel. Nothing to fancy or expensive. However, I haven't been able to find any pedals that connect directly to a usb port - all of them connect to the steering wheel which then connects to the usb port. Does anyone know of any such pedals? Either in a set with a wheel, or stand alone? Thanks for any help!

I've been building on a bartop arcade recently. it's based on the plans of the weecade, but i've made it a bit bigger, so i wouldn't have to deal with space issues. And it's nice to have some space when playing with a buddy :-) I've got the players buttons. I'm still thinking about the other buttons. Does anybody have an ideal combination of buttons? I don't want too much buttons, but i don't like the idea of shifting all the buttons. I'm affraid that i might press something during a game. I guess a player 1, player 2 and an exit button. And what else?

Building a new cab. Anyone know a good source of high resolution side art, marquees, and cp panels on the net? Or just high-reso images of arcade artwork? Thanks!

So I was browsing the web in search of some decent button/controller layouts to work off of, and stumbled across this: The full size image can be found here on the original site.

As I finalize my first arcade cabinet, I am thinking of creating a bartop for my brother-in-law (my sister won't let him have a full sized arcade cabinet) I have been following articles on the Ouya pre and post release and I was thinking that it might a decent alternative to a PC for a bartop cabinet. Has anyone else considered using one?

Hello, I go by the screen name Apparishion, but most everyone calls me App. What started out as a misspelling quote for the word Apparition turned into well, a permanent call name since the last 13 years. Anne E. Way, Been a true "gamer" since I was a kid, bought my first system (Nintendo NES) from mowing grass and babysitting. Took me 4 months to scrape up $109 to buy it. Now much older, family of my own, I came across a video from Buddman's WesM Productions, of a Nintendo PC-NES. Snowballed into today. Many thanks to buddman for his unintentional help and inspiration. And also to a lot of you here, who I've never really met or introduced myself to. Gage Bad…

I am thinking about adding guns to my cabinet and I know that the Aimtrak modules seem to be the best choice. To save some money I want to buy an already assembled gun kit since it has the casing for the LED bar as well as a module kit and gun shell. Does the module kit with the gun shell require any soldering? Cause if so, that means I'll have to get a soldering iron as well. I ask cause the website for the module says that it may require soldering, but then a PDF of how to do it as well as the page for the gun shell says no soldering. Thanks oh, and is there a simple way to make a casing for the LED bar? cause then I could save a lot of money if I don't buy the pr…

After taking probably about a 10 year hiatus from building any arcade related thing I started working on this about 3-4 years ago and then it got put on hold for a long time various reasons. Built this with my brother Jon... we built 2 simultaneously so he has an exact clone at his house. Finally approaching the final stages. 4 player panel. Lighted trackball, spinner, all lighted buttons, servo-sticks for players one and two. Custom artwork by Vlad from Gameongrafix who did an awesome job I think. We didn't do any sideart but it may be added in the future. Still need speaker covers. Running Hyperspin as the frontend. MAME will be the main emulator with Commodore 64 a…

I just got a great deal for fatheads, so I had to buy them. I am using them as my side art and so far they are sticking to my cabinet just fine. I want them to be a permanent solution to my cabinets bare sides so I was thinking about sealing them into the side of my cabinet. Do you think that by going over the whole side of the cabinet with polyurethane would do the trick? I have heard differing opinions on the subject. Some have suggested to use a water based poly while others just say that the poly will crack, get discolored, out simply ruin the vinyl decal. But still, does anyone think that a coat of poly could seal the images permanently to the side?

I am in the process of finalizing my arcade cabinet. I modified an old TMNT arcade (in which that was modified into a Golden Tee before I got my hands on it), so it came with coin doors ready for me to use. I have a key for the first player coin door, but unfortunately, the other coin doors are tubular latch locks. I do not have a tubular key and I have tried the bic pen lockpick method, but it did not work despite all my efforts. I am in need of a tubular key and I have seen a couple being sold online in various places. It is my understanding that there are 6, 7, and 8 pin varieties. My question is: What is the most common pin used for arcade machines? I need t…

Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone was willing to post videos of their Hyperspin in action? I would like to see how fast and smooth everything is supposed to look so I will know how to tweak my setup. In particular, load times, responsiveness, emulator flash and showing windows when loading from hyperspin, etc. If anyone would be willing to do this for me I would GREATLY appreciate it. If not, I appreciate your time anyway Thanks!

I just bought this racing simulator from a local guy. It's unfinished and not the greatest (but not the worst) build quality but was super cheap. I got a G25 wheel with H shift and three pedals, an old 32" LCD (no HDMI), PS3 (newest model) and a PS2 fat for just AUD$400. I was going to wait until at least the end of the year until I even thought about making a racing cab but this opportunity was too good to pass up. The seat is pretty ratty and it's set way too high but it's a good start. You were expecting photos weren't you? Sorry, the seller just took down the post so you'll have to wait till the sun comes up to see for yourselves what it looks like.

Thought I'd share my first ever arcade cabinet here. I'm a new member (hello everyone), and I'm on my way to completing my dream of having my own arcade machine, its nothing compared to the amazing projects I looked at on the site but I've learned a lot and hope to use this as a stepping stone for a future build. Both sides cut! 1x2 runners I'm using for frame construction. More framimg. Things starting to take shape. Starting to look like a arcade cabinet now. More or less a dry fit. This is what will run everything taken out of my old PC C2D 8600 4G Ram ATI 4870 1g GFX and I'm using an old set of Harman Kardon speakers for sound that I'll t…

I wanted to share with everyone what I have been working on, for what seems like forever... my basement arcade! I think I might finally be running out of room! Though I just ordered a cocktail cabinet from Monster Arcades so that should be here in a few weeks, I am sure I will find someplace for it. Currently I have 4 arcade machines, my Hyperspin cab built from an old Galaga machine, my Hyperpin cab, a Madden tournament machine and the most recent edition, the Golden Tee Live cabinet. I also have an older Megatouch that is in need of an upgrade. A touch screen jukebox and karaoke setup. Let me know if anyone has ideas of anything else I can add! :-)

Hi all. I've finally finished my "Hyperspin Arcade" bartop cab, after months of working on it whenever i could find the time. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, and how it looks and plays. Now all that's left is for me to find some time to actually use it Rear Panel with power switch, USB ports, and air filters & grilles for the cooling fans: It's built around a P4 2.8ghz desktop motherboard with 4GB ram and a 160GB SATA drive, with just the onboard graphics and sound. The OS is windows XPsp3, and it's running Hyperspin (hence the marquee) with MAME, NES, SNES, Master system, Megadrive, and N64 emulators. The monitor is a 15" TFT. I could have easily …
