Hey guys, having a bit of an issue launching Hyperspin for some reason. I'm using a custom shortcut in steam for booting it up, as I'm currently using NVidia's gamestream to stream my steam library to my TV with a Raspberry Pi. However, the issue is that I can't get Hyperspin to actually launch from Steam Big Picture mode. It will work every now and then, though I can't say why, and it will always work when not in big picture mode. However Moonlight on a Raspberry Pi won't allow you to stream anything but Steam, and in big picture mode. The times that it has launched, it has worked perfectly... Any ideas? Am I doing something stupid? Cheers!

Hi, Does anyone know what CHD's have been updated from 0.173 TO 0.174 on MAME ? I have the updated roms list, but can't seem to find the updated chd's list anywhere. Any help appreciated

Please welcome me to the forum! I have searched and used my pal Google, but cannot find the answer to my problem. Please go easy on me, I am new. When doing an audit on HS, it will just match file names. The problem is, some of the files will not run through RL because my roms are a different version than my MAME, and RL indicates there are some files missing. MAME will identify these through its own audit. I just want to remove these games, as there are already multiple copies. How can I use the more robust audit on MAME to edit the games seen by RL/HS? If this question has already been answered, I apologize ahead. I don't want to upgrade my MAME or my roms…

Hello! A bit new to this-- I apologize if these questions have been asked before. I've recently put together a bartop arcade using two player joysticks that are seen on my system as control pads. I have joysticks enabled in HyperHQ and, although the the controls are functioning on the frontend, there seems to be a awful lag and response rate navigating through the system wheel. The keyboard, on the other hand, navigates the enters games very smoothly when I use it. I believe I have the most current version of Hyperspin. Controls work great in the emulators themselves. I've heard a few people say that joysticks don't play nice with the hyperspin frontend and should b…

Hey Guys, So now that I have my thousands of games all setup (mostly) I'm starting to actually play games again haha. With thousands upon thousands of games to choose from, where is one to start? I'm hoping, with a random button! Is there anyway to pick a random game with a single button press? Or, is there a button to make the wheel spin to a random title on a button press? I know I could just wait for attract mode to kick in, but a button would be great.

I have a quick question. So i was thinking Hey why not have multiple .xml files for different things in case i want to narrow my games down so i dont have to look through 1000 games. I understand there are Genre's and even Favorite lists you can use. But wat i was thinking was using filtered XMLs. 1. Are there XMLs out there for US games only? 2. Are there XMLs out there that are filtered to be like top 100 or 200 or 300 games on that system? 3. If there isnt. Would people be interested if when i DID go through and make them that i share them? 4. If so, how do i upload/share stuff like that.

If its not 1 problem its 100 today! Ok so i just updated my RA to the newest RA. problem is now i cant get my PS1 games running i'm getting a nice big error when trying to launch through RL Runtime error! Program D:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Retroarch\Retroarch.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Whats up spinners! Question. I just finished my full install of hyperspin and have everything up and running *PHEW* but now i am onto making it look pretty. Bezels, artwork, naming structer...etc. The question i have is. I am going through each system now and i know how to remove roms from the wheel so every rom with no video i am removing and putting in a different folder till i find the associated videos but, what i am also doing is going through and i would like to remove the excess information for each rom. For example. For NES (Since im starting with this) 10 Yard fight (USA, Europe) is the rom name 10 Yard fight (USA, Europe) is the video name …

Hi Guys, Where necessary, I have unique application settings in NVIDIA Control Panel to prevent tearing in emulators. IE MAME, Mednafen. At this point, the only screen tearing I still have is in HyperSpin themes. If I turn on VSync in NVIDIA Control Panel for HyperSpin.exe, the problem goes away. My question is... since HyperSpin runs in the background during emulator usage, will that force VSync for ALL games... or just when HyperSpin has focus?

So a quick backstory - a friend was building an arcade cabinet and was wondering about when it was idle. I showed him Attract Mode but he didn't like it because it made noise, and wasn't authentic as far as what you would see at an actual arcade. I was thinking just a traditional screensaver but I couldn't find one that shuffles videos instead of pictures. If you have Windows Essentials installed, it can shuffle videos but they have to be in wmv format. I found a utility called Animated Photo Slideshow at http://www.abscreensavers.com/random-photo-screensaver which can play mp4 files, which of course is the format our snaps from EmuMovies uses. Hey Guys, So I stumbled across a fantastic data cash of every MS-DOS game ever (or so it claims) Anyway, I never really played with DOS (outside of my DOOM 2 CD back in the day) and I'm not sure how to set this up. I setup DosBox on the computer, and have it auto-mount my GameDrive (X:\ in this case) I set it up in Hyperspin as the default Emulator for system: Microsoft MS-DOS But now I'm sort of stuck... The zip files that contain the games seem to be the contents of the floppy and CD-ROM... so it's like I have to install them... but (using Ultimate DOOM as the example) It's not letting me install to X:\Games\Microsoft MS-DOS as there are no spaces allowed.... If I do a clean install on the SSD w/ Windows 7, would I only need to copy over the Hyperspin folder with all of its contents? Would there be anything else I would need to config besides the bios? Is this the correct order in which I need to prep the new SSD? 1. Format SSD to NTFS 2. Install Windows 7 3. Install Bios 4. Transfer Hyperspin folder to SSD (c drive) Did I leave anything out?

So I have hyperspin and everything running and can use the my joy sticks and arcade buttons when in MAME, but when I am in the main menu and going thru the games they don't work or do anything I still have to use my keyboard. I apologize if there is a post about this already. Also side note how do you set them up in retro arch. The pic shows what the buttons do, from how I understand this.

Basically just a screensaver but one that plays videos instead of shuffling pictures. I’m thinking this is how it will work. There’s a AHK function called TimeIdle (https://autohotkey.com/docs/Variables.htm#TimeIdle). After X milliseconds, a random mp4 video in a directory like G:\HyperSpin\Media\Nintendo Entertainment System\Video. Every configured system has it’s own Video directory. After X number of minutes, the process playing the video (wmplayer.exe?) should be closed and a another random video should be opened. If any key is pressed, the process should close. Seems simple enough?

I've had no issues for 7 months then all of a sudden I go to play the arcade and after clicking the HS exe, I get nothing. I can see the spinning on the mouse but nothing actually starts! I go to task manager and it's def a background process but not under programs that are running. I can stop it but still no luck. Any ideas? Basically the program says its running but I can't see anything and I've checked all of my monitors. so weird.

So I did some searching on Vertical games, Vertical monitors, Portrait monitors, rotating monitors, and I have not found yet what I'm looking for, which is basically this: I have a cabinet that once upon a time had a 27" CRT horizontally mounted that was 4:3 aspect ratio. I want to put an LCD in there to fill up as much of the physical space as possible with as big of a displayable picture as possible. Has anyone gotten Donkey Kong Remix to work in HyperSpin? For those that don't know, it's basically a hacked rom - I have the rom, coco3, etc, but I'm not sure how to get a standalone rom working, nor what Emulator would run it. I'm assuming RetroArch would but so far, no luck. Same goes for another hack called Donkey Kong Deranged. And a video about Donkey Kong 2K. I know ROM talk isn't allowed but this is how it was obtained if you legally own it -

Is it possible to use the bezels in MAME artwork , but when no artwork in MAME to use the RocketLauncher default bezel without setting them all individually ? I know it can be set to use RocketLauncher and set false for individual games but not this way. Any ideas ? Thanks

Hey folks, as topic says i am seeking to build a system to be able to play some of my fav classic games (NES, SNES, SEGA, AMIGA, ATARI, ....Playstation, N64, etc...etc...all).... idea is a four player cabinet (with a steering wheel control option as i have one packed up for a while which i may incorporate)... i have been looking around on the forums and saw some awesome projects you guys are doing... right now i am scouting around for the best way to achieve this using the most durable hardware and software i can get my hands on...
