I've been playing with hyperspin for the last 6 months or so and have the software well on it's way and configured for the majority of the systems that I want to play. I would love to get started in the near future on the building of the cabinet. I've done a ton of searching for designs and have found a few that could work with some modification. I'm kind of hung up actually getting a design from the computer to the actual wood to make my final cuts. I'm also not a designer and not proficient with autocad or inventor. I maybe able however to get someone who is to mock them up for me if that would be the best way to start. Thanks for any advice you can provide in a…

Hi people. So I figured I'd start this thread and add to it as I progress. I just ordered all my buttons, joysticks, and trackball for my build. I will be using my gaming rig computer for this build as I figured I may as well go big or stay home.....lol guess I'll be spending alot of time staying home when this is complete . The pc I'm using has 8 gb ddr3 ram, an d fx6300 cpu, sapphire r7 260x 2gb ddr5 video card, 500watt PS, and a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 mobo, I'll be using a 22inch LCD. And of course Hyperspin for my front end. I will be buying the mdf Tuesday as I'm going to an AC/DC concert this weekend . I do have a concern though.....can 1/2 inch mdf be used instead of …

Hi Guys, This video is of my Super Nintendo SNES PC build. The project took about 8 months to complete. Half of the time spent was on the software configuration and a bit of time on the pad modding with the Minimus 32 AVR USB boards to allow them to work as a keyboard encoders. The SNES built utilises all of the available buttons including eject which serves as a "p" button or pause in emulators. I also use it in KODI to cycle through subtitles. The back plates on the rear of the unit are made from grey traffolyte. The wireless SNES pad and Neo-Geo Pro stick both use a Bluefruit EZ-Key - 12 Input Bluetooth HID Keyboard Controller which have been repr…

Hey everyone Few questions about my build... 1. I've got a tank stick and well it works for what it does, missing a trackball for golden tee / Admin buttons etc. Better off to build a custom cp? Advice/thoughts? I'd like to get rid of the mouse/keyboard as much as I can 2. Side art. Can anybody tell me what type of cab Shinobi was? I have a few friends with sign companies but how do you find the proper side art online that's laid out for your style of cab?? That's my Major stumbling block regarding finishing it.

Hello Everyone, I am based in the UK, Kent. So the time has come! I am moving home in a few weeks and I have the space for a floor standing x2 player cabinet - cannot wait! I am fairly comfortable with PC hardware, building PC's, software usage. I haven't used Hyperspin, but have been reading various guides and watching videos in prep! I don't have any experience with wiring however, i.e. lights, speakers, joysticks etc. I am hoping to buy a cabinet with, lights etc, but no PC as I am happy to do this myself. I would like to play a range of systems and emulators, up to the latest PC games. I havent bought anything yet, and I have a budget of around £1000 …

I have been working on my setup for quite some time and my jpac has just arrived. previously my jamma is connected to a pcb while i am trying to connect it to a cpu which runs my hyperspin. the blue wire im holding is the usb cable that connects to the cpu. the monitor and sound system are all powered by the cpu. the jamma connector/jamma is only giving me access to the joystick/buttons. the jamma is powered seperately by another power supply (yellow/red wires on top). am i doing anything wrong or do i have to install any joystick software device. when i plug in the cpu it detects that it is a joystick however i am unable to calibrate or use the joystick for an…

Hello Gentlemen After putting this dream off for many years I am finally going to put together a cocktail table which I've always wanted. Why a cocktail table? Well that's just a question of space and I've always loved them even though some are ugly and mine may turn out ugly going by what I have to work with. I could use a kit but the standard kits look slightly to tall to fit in front of my couch and aren't the most exciting. So this is what I intend to convert, It's our current table and it's a chest full of crap. Here it is with the monitor I've saved for it. It's sat on a lazy susan I picked up from Ikea for £5. Now here are my problems.…

This is my first build and I'm almost done. Wanted to show off my progress over the past 3 weeks. It's a very loosely themed Aliens cab, not in any way a repro - Based on Weecade plans. 18mm MDF, primed and covered in Vinyl (I spent a week trying to paint with Rustoleum furniture paint and it just didn't come up as well as I'd have liked). I have experience working with vinyl so I got a bunch of that. I've used Seimetsu sticks, Happ buttons and Cherry switches. VERY excited to get this all together now I'm FINALLY in possession of all the parts. The acrylic and printing took almost the entire 3 weeks to arrive!

I bought two of those usb encoders that are seen as a usb controller in Windows. My player 1 keeps going to player two. I switch the cables to the board, and its fine for a while, but then it goes back to player 2. I've tried swapping the boards too and it seems whatever registers the device as whatever is in the actual cable? Any thoughts? I'm going insane over here. Thanks!

I thought I'd post my first arcade cabinet build. It has taken more time to build and setup than I'd like to admit. This was my own cabinet design, modeled in Autodesk Inventor. Now that its done I would have tweaked a few things but overall I'm happy. Currently I have MAME, PC Games, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64 setup. I still have to update a few things, I had a few button LEDs burn out so I have random colors on the top row. Create a "built by" logo between speakers, add more games.... (I think cabinets are always a work in progress) It is also setup with 2 aimtrak guns. These work great an I would recommend them for anyone who loves light gun arcades. I have s…

Hi Been working on this for a few days and just thought i`d share some progress pics, would appreciate any comments, good or bad!!! First side cut with a jigsaw using rail guides. Then clamped to another piece of MDF and routered an exact copy using the flush cutting bit.. The two sides with the base and back board Even though i`m using a full size ATX board and full size PSU, i`m trying to keep the size of the cab as small as possible. This is the reason i`ve decided to mount the speakers in the top panel and not under the marquee. Control panel cut and ready to mark up for the joystick/buttons Buttons in place, but suffered some blow out on the MDF so…

Hello, I have a couple of small 4-8" LCD monitor/panels I want to add somewhere possibly on one side of may marquee(or center) to display game, controls, High scores, etc... Probably to where it blends in with the paper marquee with some graphics.... The small LCDs are Video Composite inputs. Was wondering what my options were regarding, getting video, hooking up to hyperspin, hypermarquee, etc... thomas

Here is my Control Panel layout. Please review and let me know what admin buttons I should use or delete. Your experience and advice are welcome. This is for a pedestal machine, with a 65 inch wall mounted LCD. The corners for Player 3 and 4 are rounded, this is a flat print for your review. I Have: - ESC - Enter - I have spots for spares, or I can delete them out My controls are using I-pac, and a mini-pac for the trackball and spinner. 1. For my console games, can I use the I-Pac or Mini-pac to Map the start buttons and player select buttons to the Player 1 & 2 control buttons? I am assuming I can map whatever button to whatever input I want, but…

I am completely new to mame .I have worked on arcade machines for a couple of years. I have an old Capcom Bowling arcade cabinet. The control panel is pretty small..7" x 23". Should I only install one player set of buttons or am I better off trying to build it up and go with 2 player.? Mainly want retro games on this build for now.

Hi There, I bought a cabinet which has JAMMA connectivity (via a PC power supply and Pandoras box). I am looking at putting a PC in there as well with HyperSpin. Is it possible / safe to have this still run the JAMMA and the PC at the same time? I was thinking about using a JPAC for the PC and just adding the additional wiring for the 6 buttons to the existing layout (eg 2 wires going to each terminal) It does not have a CRT, just a standard LCD PC monitor. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Having trouble finding a monitor that remembers it's power state when the plug is pulled. What success have people had wiring up a remote button to there monitor power button. Is it as simple as wiring in a momentary switch to the same pins as the monitor.???? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
