Here is what a PERFECT controller would have: 2 Analogue Sticks + Click-buttons 1 D-pad 2 Menu buttons (Start + Select) 4 Shoulder buttons and most importantly 6 face buttons Here is why most controllers (even special ones) fail miserably at this. They often just move R1/R2 or something to the Z&C slot. They usually just have a D-Pad OR Left Stick. This is NOT good enough. You need to ADD the two buttons, and have digital AND analogue control. Well... today I saw a controller that I almost completely overlooked regarding these features. In fact I had to look really, really, REALLY close... http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/...ps4-red/127300 This controller do…

so im thinking about the perfect cabinet for a while now. and i thought about different types of button arrays. now great things can be done with rgb leds but what if we had screens inside the buttons? something like the optimus maximus keyboard: a few years ago i thought round displays are not feasible but i think these days it can be done, thanks to smart watch technology. i found some screens on alibaba: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Small-1-22-inch-circular-lcd_60411938220.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.IPX6ht&s=p most of them are too big for a 30mm button, but it something to hope for. i even thought about creating a kickstarter for this bu…

Hi Guys, I thought I'd add my cabinet to the ranks. It's a customised pedestal design that I got from Arcadeworx here in Australia. I thought I'd combine two of the things I really enjoy 1) Old school gaming 2) The metal band Slayer There's a long way to go before she's complete but here's the specs of what I've got so far: IL clear translucent pushbuttons chrome led pushbuttons, not sure what brand. Zippyy joysicks Ultimarc U-Trak Trackball I-pac2 encoder 32" samsung LCD TV I haven't decided on artwork yet or whether I'll even use any at all, but here's a few pics

UPDATE - 4/5/16: - I have updated the system from what was previously shown here, various themes, wheel structures, etc. Most importantly I have the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast wheels fully functional. Particularly proud of the Saturn JP/US hybrid wheel. Check it out in my new video: UPDATED: I wasn't happy with my long winded introduction, so I've updated this with more relevant info. Hey guys! I wanna show you my custom console, the Gam3B0x! This is Hyperspin running on the following specs in a console sized PC case. CPU: Intel i7-4790k 4.4ghz RAM: 16gb DDR3 GPU: AMD R9 390X 8gb 1.5ghz I know this is vastly overpowered for emulation purposes, bu…

So it is another Graphics card question, there are so many to look at so many ways to go about it. AMD vs NVIDIA, reference cooler or pay premium price for one with a custom cooler. Right now I am emulation up to Dolphin but have been playing with CEMU and Xenia a little bit. I have ran into graphics issues with CEMU can run some games but not many. I know its still in the works but games that have been deemed compatible and running will not run or run the crash for me, or the graphics are way off than what I have seen. Right now I am just using the on board intel HD 4600. Any recommendations? I want to be set for a couple years do not want to have to upgrade for a while …

I've seen a couple of online stores which sell parts I will need to build a bar top cabinet. I wanted to know if this board has a specific one stop shop for everything or do you all search different sites for different parts? Can you please provide some online stores that you use? that would be great since i'll be purchasing the parts very soon and would like to compare prices EDIT: Admin. If possible please move this thread. it was not meant for Pinball machines but for hyperspin arcade cabinets.

I am new to this so let me know any of any upgrades and ways to make this better. So far it's working great! I also took an existing bezel that was made for an actual arcade machine and made it mame compatible for NBA JAM TE.

Hello, As a friend told me about projects like selfmade arcade cabinets i checked some and immediately felt in love with it. Wasn´t into emulated based systems for over 15 years. Only played on one Arcade Cabinet (Soul Edge) in real life cause they were really rare in smaller locations in Germany. Last time i used MAME it was like arcade only ...when i checked for the roms now it has so much more included. This is what i want to filter out but have no clue which have to consider as arcade only. Plus is there Systems not included in full mame packets considered as arcade roms? For the people already did such or similar cabinet ...could you please show some media…

looking to buy arcade sticks in the very near future. 2 sticks, LED 6 buttons each on top, plus 1 on each side and a 1 & 2 player buttons. Do you recommend ipacs or xinmo modules? pros? cons? Is one better then the other? Are they both user friendly to set up? Thanks

Hi guys, I recently finished my cab, it's called ARCADE ACTION! SPECS: - Hp i5 which I scored for free! - 2 terabyte HD - Sanwa JLF sticks - Happ buttons - Ipac2 - Aimtrack light gun - HyperSpin frontend (of coarse) Hope you guys enjoy the build shots, happy to answer any questions.. Future plans are to upgrade the marquee to something a little flashier, wire the lights up on the credit buttons and possibly add a second Aimtrack. It was a super fun build and I'm having a blast playing it, hope you guys enjoyed the photos.

Hi, So in the middle of starting my first build. I was hoping to get some advice on a bluetooth adapter for my rig. There are so many to choose from i was hoping i could get some advice of on adapters that community members use and recommend. I am running windows 10 and want to sync it to my PS4 remote, i know i can plug it in wired but want to run it over bluetooth. It will primarily be used for hyperspin and all the popular emulators, retroarch, dolphin, pcsx2 etc... but would like to use it on some pc games too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Will

Hi all. In need of some advice. I'm building a 4 player pedestal arcade.. Players 1&2 6 button and players 3&4 4 buttons etc. I thought of adding also 2 light guns to play games like operation wolf, t2 arcade game etc. I'm just wondering am I better off just having 2 trackballs instead of guns? I've read they can be temperamental and its added expense if I already install 1 trackball, shall,I just add another for player 2 and use them to play (crosshair) gun games? Obviously I won't be able to play house of the dead etc. I'm just playing older stuff. I wasn't originally going to bother with a trackball at all but I've got quite a few games on there like a…

I just received my trackball in the mail from tornado Terry's, and it has 3 buttons I can put on it. Do I need to hook these up? I'm planning 6 buttons per side so I think I should have enough. Is it just easier to have these closer to the track ball for certain games? This is my first build so looking for some advice from others, thanks! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

What is the name of those bolts that you use to attach your joystick etc to MDF? They kinda screw in so that you can then bolt into them... Looking to buy a few in bulk so that i can use them for attaching my CP etc, but can't work out what to search for!! Also, if anyone can tell me the best size for CP use that would be great! Cheers

Hi All Newbiee question. Does anyone know a alternative for using T-mold for a bartop cab? Mine does not have the ridges to fit the T-mold. It's like the one below. Also has anyone used bezels for a widescreen cab before I cant find much info on that. The screen is set to 4:3 just want to hide the sides. Thanks

Hello! I've been debating whether to build (or buy) a 2 player or 4 player Cocktail cabinet-- I like how the 2 player is a little less bulky but 4 player gives me a bit more game flexibility-- the horizontal option is nice but then again I already have a mame stand-up arcade machine and bartop. Any advantages I might be missing to owning a 4 player cocktail unit? Is it harder to configure with a mame vertical set-up than a 2-player is? Are there 4-player cocktail cabinet games worth owning it for? I was thinking Gauntlet and Super Off Road would be fun... Anyway, I was just hoping others that have these machines could weigh in and help me decide before I begin…

I have been wanting my own arcade for a few years now, but second hand ones in my area are hard to come by and extremely over priced. So after browsing around online for what seems like forever, I decided to try and build my own. It took a few weeks to get all the woodworking and painting done (day job takes up my weekdays.) I think it turned out pretty great. My main goal is to have an overall system that can emulate all the old classics as well as everything new. I happened to have a higher end gaming PC that has been used more as a daily driver then what it was originally intended for, so it gets re-purposed into this project. The design was heavily buil…

I am looking to try and change my build from having 2 buttons to power it on, to just having 1 button. In order to do that I would need to make my hard drives (2 of them) write protected so when the machine powered off it wouldn't corrupt the data. I am using windows 10 pro with a SSD and a Mech drive. Any thoughts on this?
