Hi, I just wanted to share my build with everyone here since you guys gave me the idea. I've always wanted an arcade but couldn't afford it and there's never a cheap cab in the area. I was bedbound and happened to discover hyperspin and decided to try building my own arcade. But I have a small house so it has to be something I can move around and even hide. I have never worked with wood but knew my computers so I decided to build the arcade inside a steamer trunk. I took apart some old pcs, bought some fans, and learned to build my own control panel. It was a lot of fun and took me 2 months, the hardest part was restoring the steamer trunk! I'm going to try building my …

Hello all. Got everything ready to convert my virtual pin to LEDs and feedback with contactors. Also read the pinball 101 document and sorta have a handle on things. But I've got a few questions, I have a 12v supply for the LEDs. And a 24v supply for my 7 contactors and my knocker. The contactors I understand can run directly off the ledwiz and no need for a relay? My main question is how to wire the knocker. The knocker I know for sure I need a relay. I'm using the standard car relays. 87 87a 30 86 85 I'm just not sure how to wire it! It has the pins 30 which I think goes to my 24v power supply directly. 85 goes to ground. Here is the part I don't know. Does 87 o…

Hi, I would like the spec of a laptop or desktop to use for my arcade cabinet that I'll be just running classic mame games example wonder boy and galaga to name a few..., the old school games. Nes,Sega, megadrive and supernintendo. Do I need a quad core processor? if so how much ram is 2gigs enough? or would a double core processor enough to run hyperspin and these old school game themes smoothly.? I don't want to spend too much as Ill be making another cabinet to run fighting games or higher demanding games and I'll be getting a good computer for that.so I just want a good enough old desktop to be able to run those basic old school games for a cheap price. Ill be maki…

Hey guys, I've been an enthusiast for a while now but haven't gotten around to building a cabinet yet. Ive built a PC and loaded and configured Hyperspin the way I want it. Now its time to work out the details of my controls. I have a 5" touch lcd that i was thinking of mounting on my CB or under the bezel. Where its going isnt important. What I need to know is how to get it to show volume controls and possibly lighting. It would be cool if it displayed art of whatever game I was playing and when i tap it the screen would change to a volume control and then after a few seconds of inactivity it would go back to the "screen saver" So does anyone know if this is even pos…

One post to rule them all. I remember seeing a while back there was a post with gallery after galley of finished cabinet build pictures, on the same thread. It was quite a few pages with loads of amazing builds and I am pretty sure it was on this site. Any help with a link would be much appreciated.

So after 2 years o my build being in progress, halfway through life problems popped up and it spent half a year in storage, I've finally given up and just called it done. Only has 8 systems but they are all up and running. It's basically just a big box with 2 player arcade controls and 2 usb snes controllers for console games. Had to be portable to take over for parties and whatnot. Would post pics but it's atrocious..lol. Has anybody else got to a point and just threw in the towel no matter how ugly it looked?

It mainly took so long due to the fact that as soon as it was playable I just played it rather than finishing. But now I have the finishing touches on it. I designed the cabinet myself.

Thanks to a lot of member feedback and guidance with Hypersin, I have my MAME arcade up and running. Of course the arcade is using Hyperspin to work and wanted to share this video for those interested in how it looks, plays, etc. Something special (IMO) is that I've connected it to my xbox one for Killer Instinct (of course). Great to play that game the way it was intended - in an arcade! Also show off driving wheel and light gun.

It's probably about time I posted some progress on my latest project here. The only major gaming setup I'm missing (aside from a virtual pinball table) is a setup for space/flight sims. With the beta release of Elite, my juices started flowing and kicked me into action. The idea is to create an integrated solution to a 'space place'. I have VR in mind as I'm construction this. The overall design will look something like this: It will take many design cues from previous projects in terms of general style and materials used so expect to see a lot of this sort of thing: To cut to the chase, here's what I have currently. The side pods for the throttle and stick have …

Here are a few images of my soon to be complete (fingers crossed) "Grounds 4 Divorce" cab and some of the artwork I'll be using. Hoping to have it done in time for christmas A4 print from my epson for test fit on these three. The cab itself, around 75%-80% complete. The Control Panel with rgb leds. I changed the ball tops for colour coded ones. The Artwork for the upper monitor. The Artwork for the main playing field. The white cross section allows for a rotating monitor The disc that will rotate when attached to the monitor. Rotated for vertical games. And for horizontal games. And the instruction sticker at the bottom of the main playing fi…

Hi all, I am in the process of getting together 2x 5TB drives dedicated to Hyperspin and my aim is to have them set up within a HTPC/Console case rather than having the drives sitting stand alone externally connected to PC connected to HDMI/TV etc. What are some other alternatives that I could consider? Cheers

I had a pieced together cab running Maximus - I am wanting a bit more of the Arcade legends cab feeling I see at the game stores. I stumbled across the Hyperspin forums searching over youtube for a good front end. I hope to have something half as good as some of these other cabs soon..

I'm brand new to this forum. I joined mostly for help setting up hyperspin on my new project PC. Since I have no experience with Hyperspin I'll probably need all the help I can get. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to log the progress of my build here as well. Since I currently live in a small apartment, a full cab is out of the question. Instead, I'll be building an emulation/HTPC inside of an NES case. Here are the main components I've chosen for my build: ZOTAC H67ITX-C-E mobo Compact board with all of the features I need for the build Core i3-3240 LGA1155 3.40G processor I didn't do my homework on this one before I purchased it and it may need to be upgraded f…

Hi, her some pics of my Atari 7800 Mod. Found a rusty Atari 7800 (it was under water) and a broken ASUS Eee PC 1215B. It´s 12,1" size, now the board connections on both sides! Needs only a few modification to bring it in Atari case! Next step is a changeable 2,5" Hdd. The Hdd goes into a orginal Cardridge. I have decided to "ET the Game" The best Game ever Images from the current state.

Just checking, but a bartop arcade machine would only be suitable for consoles no later than PS1 due to the limitations of 1 joystick and 6 buttons ?

Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted and decided so show some of the control panels for the projects I'm currently working on. Both of the control panels are originally nba jam and have since been changed. The first project is one that's intended to be a surprise for my uncle he is a huge cowboys fan and my aunt was wondering could I whip up something. I am going to keep the original blue nba jam blue joysticks for this one and have a mixture of white and blue buttons. More on the cab a bit later. I wanted to do something different so I said hey why not wrap the cab in turf lol. I was thinking of covering the artwork with plexi instead used mod podge an…
