Here are the FINAL pics of the build: ------------------- ORIGINAL THREAD ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here are my plans so far for my Mini-Pin. At first I was just wanting to build it as cheap as possible thinking Pinball was not really my thing, however, now that I have gone through the tables and played a bit, I am officially loving it. I have already purchased most of the parts to build an arcade style pin machine, but am already planning on building a true looking pinball down the road. Using an asus 24in IPS for the playfield and an old 17in Neovo 4:3 Monitor for the backglass. http://www.newegg.com/Pro…

Hi guys, I think everybody starts the first build thread with the same intro and I'm no different. After months of reading and planning, the work has finally started. The hardware I got together a few weeks back, but the cabinet building session was not until last weekend. I have to thank everybody in this forum, specially maxxsinner, DeeGor and many more, you've been really helpful! Hello, I'd like to use a Pac-Drive for lighting my start button and launch button (rom controlled) maybe the coin slots as well. This is the pinball controller that I've made I found 2 tutorials, and I've read that you have to use an old version of the ledcontrol.vbs file to get it working ( because the pac-drive wasn't supported anymore ) and some other files. But the tutorials are a few years old. Has there been any changes regarding the files, maybe it's supported in the newest ledcontrol.vbs ? Is there anyone here who uses the pac-drive for rom-controlled lighting of their leds ? I hope I can use the pa…

Hi Guys, I’ve been lurking around this site for several months now looking at all the really great cabinets that have been put together, and I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and build my own cabinet. I’ve built a MAME cabinet in the past, but this project seemed exponentially harder with the electronics knowledge required to get all the great toys to work with VP. Many, Many, Many thanks go to H4ck3r and Maxxsinner for putting up with my stupid questions. The Pinball Electrical pdf was extremely valuable to me. Also many thanks to Chriz99’s build threads. There was SO much great information in them. To begin with, I decided to purchase a lot of the e…

Just finishing up the retrofit of an old arcade cab I picked up at an auction and after a night of playing I noticed when the gf mashed the buttons it tabbed out of my mame game and went back to hyperspin!? I've narrowed it down to the P2 2 and 3 buttons which map to q and s when hit at the same time I can reproduce this error. Any suggestions? I'm assuming it's a hyperspin hotkey but i could very well be wrong.

good day gents! I have a few questions i was hoping someone might be able to help me with. I purchased from Ultimarc some joystick 'blind hole' mounting kits, but on their site i'm not seeing what size pre-drill is recommended for a pilot hole. Also, i'm not sure how deep i should pre-drill and what drill attachment will ensure it only goes that deep. thanks in advance for your help!! http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html#mountingkits Richard

I want a computer that allows me to run any Pinball emulator, add on, etc. I haven't settled on displays yet, but I'm leaning towards 2 LCDs with a full color DMD, so I need 2 video cards. Still have to figure out the actual cabinet, knockers/shakers/solenoids/lights, but think this is enough to get started with downloading/testing software. I'd appreciate folks taking a look and making sure I haven't overlooked anything. 4GB GTX960 Graphics Processor for the Playfield http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V4R42066 ASUS Z170-P LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.n…

Aloha, Hello everyone, it's been over 2 years since my last post. Hope everyone's been well. It was about this time 2 years ago that i moved to Hawaii, in doing so I had to sell my 4player converted golden-tee cabinet, bartop any pretty much everything else except for my Mame Nes build, as it was just too expensive to ship to hawaii. I got out of the hobby after that as i did not have the resources or time. Presently I now have a house here, steady job that i've had for the last 2 years, I've gotten the OK from the wife to convert 1 of the spare bedrooms into a game room, and i'm ready to start backup. This was always a great community for Hyperspin, b…

mockup So I'm finally going to build myself a Vpin, I know some of the purist are going to be upset that i'm going to use this classic machine to do it with. I picked it for 150 bucks in the summer, it has been well used and dont really wanna put the time and effort in restoring it for one game and i have limited space I already did a restoration in the summer and it was fun learned a lot, you can see some of it here http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/9054-to-gut-or-not-to-gut-that-is-the-question/page-2 old Harlem globetrotters seen its days but i'm giving it new life

So I've got my little shinobi cab... But wanting more I've got it dialled it for the most part, but really don't like the tankstick. I want to build a CP, and upgrade my PC.... Basically an overhaul. I'm thinking of doing a 4 player w/trackball but does the ultimate I/o support 4 player or do you just buy the expansion harness? Also thinking about " widening" the current cab to accept a wider monitor. Don't know how a large 4 player cp would look on this smaller cab? Lots to learn as I've been digesting a lot of info, but now that I know HS and my setup well I think it's time to make the jump?? Looking for input / thoughts etc.

Hello folks, Well for a little over two years, I have been lurking, reading, dreaming and planning on this and a few other forums. I have wanted a VPin cab ever since I saw Chriz99's first build. Then his second build just blew me away! I knew I had to have one just like it!! That was all that was on my mind for months.. Drove my wife near mad Originally, I bought a Flash Pinball to gut and build into a Vpin. But it was in such good shape, I could not bear to gut it out. So I worked on repairing it. But, before I could get it fixed and working, I came across an Addams Family Pinball, my wife's all time fav.. At a YARD SALE!!! So I of coarse bought it. Well, now she it u…

Hello Spinners & Pinners, It's been all good since the VPcabs debut on Shark Tank this past May. Brad Baker from VPcabs was hired by Universal Studios to create a stand-up Vertigo arcade 'Back to the Future' themed machine for Michael J. Fox's Parkinson Disease Foundation. I got to design the entire build with licensed artwork from the movie. What a great project to be part of! Ebay posted the auction, all the proceeds from this event went to the charity. It was showcased with the actors Fox, Christopher Llyod and Lea Thompson at the Chicago Wizard World convention this past summer. The design was so well received from Universal that a second matching virtua…

Ahghh...posted this in the pinball cabinet forum instead of the HyperSpin Cabinets and Projects forum...sorry about that feel free to move :/ I thought I'd post a few updates I've been doing to the arcade cab. Here's a quick video, if you're bored: (give it a few minutes for the quality to improve) Will add a few more pics here as I get a chance. New Motherboard ASUS H97M-E Intel i7 Quad core @ 4Ghz, 8 Gb Ram (DDR 3?)(2x4Gb sticks). Onboard sound. Added a 400W Yamaha Stereo Amplifier(really liking the sounds). I'll post a short video, but it doesn't do it justice. Added, finally a LED, HDMI 16:9 25"--26" Monitor(can't recall exact size and I …

Hi Guys, Most members use the SP-200-12 and SP-200-24's I came across these: The RSP equivalents, so if we compare a RSP-320-12 vs a SP-320-12 i am not sure what the difference is, can someone clarify? here are the datasheets, the RSP is cheaper.. http://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/SP-320-12/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsPs3th5F8koOmWyGwQiVvxdZIkCedGcyo%3d http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/260/SP-320-SPEC-806419.pdf http://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/RSP-320-12/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsPs3th5F8koKpK7QW2TQkWfp7IWYmZbVQ%3d http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/260/RSP-320-SPEC-806253.pdf thank you in advance MS
