I have a four player cocktail arcade table. I plan on using a pc with 2 xin mo usb encoders for LED control panels. Heres the question (bearing in mind that this is my first cabinet, and the length of the wiring harnesses). Should I make the left two control panels feed off the first xin mo usb encoder and the right two control panels feed off the second xin mo usb encoder OR should I put the two ends (vertical seats) on one xin mo usb encoder and the two middle seats (horizontal seats) on the second xin mo? Sounds like a weird question, I know, but I didnt know if it would be easier to hook up one way or another, or if the wiring would be stretched too thin moving on…

I'm preparing the parts for my first arcade I'm looking for good push buttons and I found this kit: http://www.amazon.com/Easyget-Cabinet-Raspberry-RetroPie-Projects/dp/B01DKAGJZQ?ie=UTF8&colid=36OA3VJFMKL7U&coliid=I2B0WMNLGVZ3AC&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl This kit already comes with a encoder board that I don't know if it is good Should I buy this Kit with this kind of encoder board or should I use a board like IPac by ultimarc?

I am looking to paint my new arcade controls - (top knobs only) Normally I would just go and replace them with colored ones but is it possible to lightly paint on them? If so, what kind of paint do you recommend? See image below.

I installed a cga to cga converter in an old cab today . I've replaced the screen with a 19inch lcd screen. It appears to work and I have street fighter running in it . The problem is that the screen flickers constantly and sometimes goes black for a couple of seconds then comes back on and keeps flickering. It doesn't affect the gameplay or sound , just the picture. Any help would be much appreciated , thanks .

So I was looking around for some DIY cab builds for my next build, particularly http://www.homearcadesystems.com. I ranted in another thread about there needs to be a better way, but for the purposes of this thread, are there any companies like Rec Room Masters that sell builds that don't recommend these bs HyperSpin drives?

Hi I want to know if you go with default Mame settings or set your own key codes I am little confuse here because I checked the board setting for P1 SW1,2,3 are set to tab and space bar as per mame default setting. Example Street fighter in mame we uses all six buttons for both P1 and P2, therefore I am confused how will street fighter run if uses default mame keys and if first three buttons are set like that. What do you use for your settings please share your ideas. Thanks Tapatalk を使用して私の A0001 から送信

First of all I'd like to say that this is my first post. I've been lurking the forum for weeks now as I have been kicking around the idea of a Hyperspin build. Tonight I finally started making a parts list, so I figured this is the best place to bounce my ideas around. I'm currently planning my Hyperspin build and I'm wondering if I can use my old PC for this project rather than buying a new rig. The PC in question is a Gateway DX4870 UB2B. Notable Specs/Parts: OS - Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64) CPU - Intel Core i3-3240 (3.4 GHz) Memory - DDR3 (6gb) Graphics - on board (crap) Storage - 1 TB internal HDD Power Supply - 300w ...and now for the upgrades. This is …

Hey Guys, So, now that I am almost finished with my personal project. I have some people that are wanting me to set them up with similar systems. While I opted to just buy an over-the-top PC Rig to ensure I could play Witcher 3 on Ultra, and never worry about emulation requirements lol they just want something simple, and small, but based on Windows. (not a raspberry pi or android or anything) So I'm trying to figure out what a recommended PC spec would be for some different builds based on the systems that need to be emulated. I'm hoping to figure out some kind of tier for system here. For example let's say: Build 1:) Up to SNES/GEN Build 2:) Up to N64/PSX/SAT Build…

Hi All, Am going to be attempting my own Hyperspin build, from the ground up so hopefully lots of you that have done it before will be able to help me and give me a few pointers. I'm designing the cabinet layout and will be getting all the panels cnc cut. The theme I am going for is a Deadpool theme, so black and red as the main theme colours. What do you think of this as the side panels?

I bought some new joysticks and they are too short for my control panel. Even if I router it out I think they may still be too short. I see they make extensions, but the only ones that I can find are from China and are gonna take a month to get. Is there anything locally that I can buy at the hardware store to extend them? They are Swansa with the ball on top. Thanks

We all know that MAME does a great job and gives us most of the games we like to play with real arcade controls on our cabinets. What are the other emulators you enjoy on your cabinet? Here's my list (not in any order): - MAME - Demul - SuperModel - Model 2 - nullDC - Visual Pinball - Future Pinball - Pinball Arcade - Pinball FX2 - RetroArch

Howdy I have a cabinet and such but it tends to overheat sometimes. This post is to try and come up with ideas for the best cooling options, ventilation, fans etc. I have one small hole with fan blowing air out about 5 feet from the base and that's it. I'm sure I need holes for "in" air What has worked best for you? Maybe share pics, products, prices etc too. Any and all recommendations are welcome! It could be that my xp computer just any cut its no more :-) Thanks

Hopefully this is the best location for this post! At any rate I've in the process of building the PC portion of my cab. At first I really only planned to run mainly mame and the old NES, Genesis systems. Now I'm wanting to get it to a more sophisticated state and would like to eventually do some more graphic intensive systems maybe. I'm seeing way's online to include some of the Tito type X arcade games. I'm guessing that I may be lacking in the video card department. I'm running an i5 -2500 @3.30ghz, 16gb ram, and a Geforce GT610 1gig GPU. Operating system is windows 10. Now I do have an old Geforce 8800gt from evga from an older gaming PC. One minor issue is t…

I finished building this cab a few months ago. Just started messing with everything again because im wanting to add light gun games and sega model 3. If you have any question about how i did stuff please ask!. -Its built out of 3/4in MDF. - black gel stain for the color -plexi glass bezel. I spray painted around the screen.looks very slick. Which is a 25?in 16:10 monitor i got off ebay for about $80. -"smart" power strip so everything powers on when the pc does but off the rest of the time. Learning Hyperspin/rocket launche setting up all the emulators was a hugeeee pain. But thats mostly because the PC i used is very old and runs on 32bit XP.(not as much sup…

I say "typical cabinet" meaning these are low or no cost features that most can do. I know that that Utrastik360, RGB buttons and LCD marquees are super cool but most don't have them due to cost or time. Not in any order: - a way to search your games (I use HyperSearch but there are others) - HiScore for MAME (after you get that great score, you want to save it) - cpwizard to create the CP images of buttons to be used for each game with your CP in Pause/RLPause/HyperPause - admin buttons (have separate buttons for genre, favorites, pause, exit, start, volume or whatever you things you need most) - boot directly to HyperSpin as the shell and not Windows (explor…

Anyone know what the font (or a close approximation) of the font used in SFII to show the fighter names under the health bar? Additionally, I'd like the KO and Clock (tho think this is the same as the fighters...) Thanks!

Hi guys, I just started dipping into this great hobby a little over a week. I really like Hyperspin and rocketlauncher a lot and have been doing a lot with the software setup side of things. I work with computers and have done quite a bit of work in my basement with building a theater and bar area (bar is not started yet). I am now lurking around for a nice build/design. I guess I'm just wondering how to get started with this build. I have a X Arcade tankstick with trackball controller board already so I don't plan to build my own board. I know that may be frowned upon but I already have it so I want to use it. I want the light up marquee Plexiglas bezel. I wa…
