Hi folks. First post here. I'm a MAME enthusiast for several years and only now I started my cabinet project. I was looking into Hiperspin and it is impressive but I won't do Windows. I actually make my living on Linux exclusively (I work for Canonical, of Ubuntu fame) and have a large experience on it. As I was already thinking about create a nice interface for MAME on linux (the current ones are crude) I thought why not create a Linux version of hiperspin? I'm no designer but I have a very good experience creating GL based applications using SDL. I would like to do this with the HS creators blessing as I have the intention to use the art on it. Has anyone setup Amiga Demos in hyperspin ?? I got the games working great launching through WINUAE Launcher. Can anyone talk me through just adding the demos too and also doing a .XML

I am almost finished with setting up my HyperSpin setup, but there's one big problem. It's not a dealbreaker by any means, but it may become a hindrance in hindsight. Most of the games I have loaded into HyperSpin are recognized, but sometimes, things just don't come up! For example, games like Q-Bert for the Dreamcast and Wheel of Fortune for the Sega CD just don't show up in HyperSpin at all, even though RocketLauncher recognizes them perfectly! And there are other instances where the games could be recognized, but not the video snaps! The only example I could think of is Mr. Bones for the Sega Saturn. Hi, Built my machine a couple of years ago using Hyperspin and Hyperlaunch without any probs. I go to use today and I cant get anything to launch. If I launch Hyperspin and select a game in MAME I get No exe path defined If I launch a game in a another emulator i.e Daphne through hyperspin I get cannont find c://hyperspin\utilities\jpytokey\joytokey.exe. I then get You are using keymapper support but are not up to date with Joytokey or cannot find joytokey.ini in Please make sure you are running joytokey v5.10or later. Hello. I've been running hyperspin with rocketlauncher. I've been having so many issues from launching emulators with roms smoothly and also connecting my joystick control panel setup. I was wondering if hyperspin 1.4 is any better? Also how do I obtain a copy of hyperspin?

Hey So I have been away from HS for some time.. Tonite I tried to play and some system wheels are not going into the game list? I click the system say Nintendo Stellaview and it stays on the icon and doesnt open the game list. I had this issue before and I recall it being an easy fix however I forget! I checked my rocket launcher and all the games are there and work...? thanks Jim

{this is for Naomi PCB games on Makaron} I'm a noob but I spent some time with this emulator recently and it took me a while to figure out that it's really not that hard to get going. It's just hard to find a complete tutorial for it. You have to search to and fro for everything . So to save some people some time I thought I would post what worked for me as sort of a noob to noob tutorial. I hope it helps someone. Makaron is actually not hard mostly because you hardly have any options to mess with. I'm trying to get PinballFX 2 to work in my Hyperspin 1.3 arcade machine. All of the media - videos, themes, wheels, database, etc are already in the correct folders but I do not understand how to get the game working. I'm stuck configing properly in HyperLaunch. Help-

About 50% of the time, when I exit a game, HyperSpin hangs. I have to open taskmanager to kill it. I don't know what's causing it and why it only does it half the time but would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks, --J

Just thought I'd start a thread for different nvidia based devices that may have potential as a hyperspin device.. Apart from the GPD win handheld.. I haven't heard of any other x86 device that has the (untested) "potential" to run hyperspin under android and Windows 10, using the x86 environment. OK,now back to what I was saying. Please feel free to post any devices that you feel might be potentially the next awesome hyperspin device.. Hi there. I've never done this before. I'm building a Hyperspin cabinet for the kids in our youth group. I would love to go 4k, but not sure if that causes problems or not. Can you please recommend the best monitor/tv to use with minimal input lag for both the main game display and also a hyper marquee setup? Actually - what is the hyper marquee monitor that looks like the old marquees? Like an extra wide but shorter monitor? Any and all help is appreciated. Want to get cracking on this build soon! Boot my cab from cold and my hyperspin stutters during the intro and about 10 seconds into the wheel before performance picks up and it all looks ok. My PC is fast enough I5 2500k GTX 780ti 8gb Ram Booting from ssd drive I thought maybe windows is busy in the background so i downloaded a delay startup programme and set hyperspin to delay starting up for 30 seconds, to give windows time to sort itself out, and hopefully remove the stuttering. But its exactly the same, if i quit hyperpsin and reload from the desktop its perfect.. I'm trying to get it going with 0.160. Tab doesn't seem to bring up the config menu for this system, which means it'll require AHK remaps. I'm making some progress, but I'm confused by Heavy Boxing -- none of the action buttons do anything, so I can only move the boxers around the screen, no punching... Anybody get anywhere with this system yet?

I recall I used Don's hyperfilter to sort through games that were Working, and used the controls I have available... but now for the life of me I can't figure out how to get a list that actually has this information so I can sort it. No XML file I found has the Status marker in the info, or number of players, or anything of that sort. I can't create a mamelist.xml because it just doesn't seem to want to work, creates a 0 byte file. I'm not even sure I need a mamelist.xml.. is that the same as MAME.xml that goes into the hyperspin database? I upgraded from .172 to .188 and I wanted to create a new list of games. Any help would be appreciated.

My control board uses an IPAC4 preconfigured to MAME. So the "Menu" button is TAB. I've been kicking around ideas for how to map HyperSpin given my board, and I've settled on using the menu button to launch into HyperSpin genres. So when I go into HyperHQ and try to set the genre field, I hit "set" and then hit tab. It then literally tabs back over to the set button rather than register the tab key in the field. Is TAB just a key that HyperHQ can't hande for this function? is there perhaps a ini or config file I can tweak? I looked but didn't find one. Thank you for your help.

Hi all Yep, yet another newbie with dreams of putting together a mame cabinet. I've followed the simply Austin setup guides and the problem I have is that hyperspin cant see my roms. Clicking into mame on hyperspin just chucks me back out to the intro screen unless I uncheck the roms only filter in HQ. I've checked a few times to make sure I have the rom path correct and the other requirements. I know you guys need a log to get a better idea. Do I get that from rocketlauncher? Not even exactly sure how I do that? I've attached an Html of the log if that's usable? Sorry I'm not more helpful but help would be appreciated. log.html

FOUR NEW FIXES for potential problems you may face when setting up HyperSpin. Please excuse if any of my fixes/discoveries are previously well known territory. I hope Simply Austin sees this too for future tutorials he may or may not do... BEZELS NOT SHOWING: FIX After botching up my N64 setup because my OCD kicked in and I deleted my wheel to create a new one WHERE I wanted it to show up, I was back to Austin's videos. Ok I have HyperSpin Setup and using RocketLaucher. I have nes emulator and a few others up and running with no issues. But when it comes to MAME i have issues, In rocket laucher, I set everything up and the launch fine and play from both the UI and exe of rocket launcher with no issues, but HyperSpin will not launch the MAME roms, all the emulators still work for the others, but mame is giving me issues from launching in hyperspin. I even tried to link directly to the mame emulator withing the HyperHQ and once I launch hyperspin and select a rom it tells me that it cant find the exe even though its exactly where it says it cant find it.…

I have both ttx_config2.0.exe and JConfig.exe but I can't seem to get the controls to actually work. Am I just putting the files in the wrong place?
