Let's admit it: we already have GREAT htpc styled themes BUT all we miss something: INFOs. Hyperspin can show only "title" on one line and year/manufacturer on another line. Having "real" infopanels would be GREAT but it means preparing infopanels rom per roms, right? WRONG. In photoshop you can use VARIABLES to load a .txt or a .csv to batch text changes or/and png changes. You can find an example on the FTP under Upload Here/dark13/Infopanel batch/. It has text variables (roms, title, title jap, title usa, title ue, manufacturer, year, genre, aama rating) and a .png variable (number of players). What's the "real deal"? I think I FINALLY figured out how to play Vita games on my Hyperspin! Are there any themes or videos that have been made by chance? I know some people have done Xbox and Playstation 3 stuff in advance, and I even made a bunch X1 and PS4 stuff when I figured out how to get those to work too. I've never seen any Vita stuff though.

So, my "PC Games" wheel is overrun with dinky little indie games. When I think "PC Games" I think about hardcore, overheat-my-system levels of games. I don't think "Grow Home" and "Ori" and "Hotline Miami" lol So I think these games deserve their own wheel. Has anyone created a system wheel they'd like to share a screenshot of? I'd love some inspiration.

I originally posted this looking for help in creating custom transitions. As you can see, it doesn't seem anyone was able to assist. I was able to figure it out though. No one seems to be doing anything like I am with their hyperspin build, so I'm looking forward to showing what I've made off in the coming months. In case anyone cares about non-cabinet builds.

Hi! as i'm seeing, all genres in databases will be unified (MAME too?), so i'm asking if i have to copy al Genre Wheel Images to each System Genre Wheel Folder or is there a common folder so we don't have duplicated files. Thanks in advance!

The title should say "theme..." just call me butter fingers. Hi all, I haven't been crazy about the default themes available in 16x9 for console systems, and so I've decided to try modifying some of the main menu themes for system level use. There's one thing that's driving me crazy, though, and that's that most of the main menu themes have objects on the right side of the screen and they appear on top of the transparent wheel. When scrolling through a system without a lot of available game themes (NES or Genesis for example), the wheel is obscured because of this. Is there a setting I could change to modify this? Or something in the theme xml? Thanks!

Hi, I am currently trying to create a theme that has doors and what I want to happen is for the doors to be closed on start and then move to the left and off screen and remain off screen. I can start it off screen and bring it on screen - but I can't find the way to reverse that motion. I am wanting to have the doors reveal the rest of the theme as it moves off screen. Does anyone know if this is possible or have I out smarted myself? thanks

hey all of you, my quest on my own custom theme (similar to the look of emulationstation) continues and once again i hit a problem where i can't come up with an solution. i try to have a wheel background that basically is a transparent strip over the background. like this (note that this is just a very quickly put together example of what i try to archive, pls ignore the artwork and pointer above the wheel) my solution so far is to make the wheel background strip part of the background image itself, which worked so far. now i created my custom fading transition .flv to play when the system is changed (and fades the background image out and in agai…

How do I set Artwork1 and Artwork2 in the main menu to perform only 1 animation instead of picking at random. I want artwork2 sliding in and out from the left side and artwork1 sliding up and down from the top. Instead they both randomly pick many different animations.

at the moment i'm working on animated .swf as background use for hypertheme. i created my sfw using adobe after effects (-> export -> adobe flash player (SWF)). my composition is in 1024*768 using a transparent background. but when i try to use the exported .swf in hypertheme the following error message appears: "Could not load AVM2 SWF". when i try to use any .swf exported from after effects as artwork1/2/3/4 in hypertheme it doesn't work either. in this case there is no error message. hyper theme just doesn't do anything after i select a .swf for artwork. do i need to set certain parameters or option when exporting? does somebody know where I went wron…

Mame Artwork Bezel Project In early February 2014, myself and potts43 discussed Mame bezels and specifically using the Mame artwork at the same time as user/Hyperlaunch bezel media. Mame artwork is currently used when the bezel setting is set to Layout and user/Hyperlaunch bezel media is used when Normal is selected. We discussed getting both working at the same time and tried many ways, but found it couldn’t be done, at least at the time. So we decided to convert all the Mame artwork from the Mame artwork folder to work in Normal mode. Hi All, So I like all the wheel art and after reading Jay C's tutorial on the redraws I have a new sense of respect for the creators!! Only problem is I really like them on a tile, its easier to read whats in the list. I have limited skills and programs to work with (well none and Gimp!) Longest title ever I guess... I'm still exploring flash and I come up with a fun idea. What if a .swf could read its name and play a video (.flv or .mp4) with the same name in a given path? It might seems a stupid idea BUT if you want an .swf to play an .mp4 without embedding it (paths will not be portable) OR embedd a .flv into it you must use flash every single time and create the related .swf. So, a 300 games systems means creating 300 .swf in flash. What if you could create a single .swf and simply changing its name to play a specific video? i recently discovered dark13's awesome scripts for widescreen conversion (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/5693-batching-pngs-into-swfs/). is the same process possible without any adobe products? frankly i just can't afford adobe animator or any creative suite products from adobe. i asked in dark13's thread if its possible to use his scripts with freeware programs but as for this moment no one could answer my question which leaves to be believe that it's probably not. so is there a way using freeware software to do a proper widescreen conversion and if so how would i do that? thanks for reading! cheers tim
