This is going to be a slow going build thread, as I have multiple other projects I'm working on at the same time. But I'm almost finished with my Hyperspin cabinet, so I figured I would start a HyerPIN cabinet. I picked up a Medieval Madness cab (empty) for the build. During the playfield install I used 2x2's to make the frame for the LED playfield Decased the LED and mounted it to the frame with long screws all around it Added a 1x4 to the front to clean it up Here is how I built it up. It sits perfectly flush with the bottom of the rails Added some cross bracing to the back of the frame which I will later add a piece of 1x6 on top of it to finish the …

Hi folks, after finishing my first arcade cab project in january '14, I felt so well that I decided to plan a follow up cab project. This time it was pinball time. The most important part was the budget, to ensure the family holidays and minimize the arguments with my wife, I set a maximum budget of 300€, that's around 400$. Sure, with this budget, we won't see another Lotaris Pin, but entry level pinball arcade feeling should be possible. I knew, that my old 26'' Acer TFT Screen was still working, without this, I would not have ever started this project. I checked 3 older PC towers in the basement for usable computer hardware and was lucky to find this stuff still w…

Hi All, Like many before me, I have finally gathered enough courage to attempt a pincab build! It all started about 18 months ago when I decided that after years of dreaming I would make my own mame cabinet. And so I did (no build thread though), discovered Hyperspin as a frontend, then stumbled upon HyperPin, found the Cabinet forum, got the bug, and here I am! I have thought long and hard about what to do with the cabinet and decided I wanted to build a williams widebody clone, because there are many examples for me to look at, but most importantly because it brings back great memories :-) Not all the details have been worked out yet, but I will maintain this opening…

Hi can someone have a quick look at this pc and see if it will be any good for a hyperpin cabinet. I know I will have to couple it with a decent gc, I was thinking a gtx 650. Once I got my cabinet up and running and im happy with it I don't think I will update with further tables or anything so if it will do for what's out at the moment or the next few months I'll be happy. Anyway here is the link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201129632510?redirect=mobile any comments are appreciated

Hello, all. I love this absolutely!!!! Just discovered mini-pin and am blown away! So for my first project, I am wanting to make the KISS pinball. I would love your advice and input, so here goes; I have read and read, and still have some questions: My goal is to make a scaled KISS mini-pin. I prefer only 2 LCD's (the 3rd takes away from the original pinball) althought I know it would limit be from re-using the cab for another pin table. (may just reconsider the 3rd lcd) 1) What cabinet dimensions would you suggest for a playfield monitor of 22", or a 24" (if the price is right) are there plans available for my desired lcd's 2) What size backglass lcd would you sugge…

A lot of cab builders have 3 fans in the back of the cab. Are the two fans in the cabinet for the intake of cold air and the one fan in the backbox for the outtake of warm air??? But that would not be really symmetrical, isn´t it (two "in" and only one "out") ???? But if so... is there enough cooling for the front part of the cabinet, e.g. the monitor especially in the front of the cab????? OR are all 3 fans for the outtake (warm air OUT of the cab) ??? Thx for advice, Launch_14

So guess I'll finally make my thread for this. This is my second cab build, first time around I build a mid/medium size build. 24" play field and a 19" backglass. No extra toys, very basic, worked great but decided it was time to step up to a full size cab with all the toys! Here's a pic of it. Here's what'll be in the new one! - Cabinet Widebody based on the popular Williams plans by Mameman. Two 4x8 sheets of cabinet grade birch plywood - Screens 46" LED LCD - Playfield 32" LCD - Back glass Vishay DMD - PC Specs Windows 7 Intel i5 2500k GTX 460 Video Card 8 GB Ram 256 GB SSD Harddrive 600W Power Supply - Audio Most likely will be the following…

Well the time has come to get started on a new project. I am nearing completion of my new MAME cab and still have some PCs and monitors laying around that need to get used somehow so a pin is in order. This will be my first attempt at a pin and am already in over my head but getting things sorted out slowly but surely. This stuff is a whole lot more complicated than a MAME cab for sure. I am doing a mini pin since I do not want to expend a lot of money nor time in something bigger until I am sure this will look and behave as I expect. I have a spare HP 16:9 22" for the playfield but need to check the viewing angles to see how it looks from the side. Back glass monitor wil…

I have a Bally cabinet, 40" LED that fits nicely but I have a big gap in the back of the playfield where you see down in the cabinet. What goes there? I seen one table with a backboard and lights but most videos seem to have too much reflection to tell what they did. Is it just a cutout black bezel to hide the guts under the playfield or should my tv reach the whole cabinet backing flush? I am also wondering the exact level of the playfield tv, is it completely level? How far down and from what point at the cab do I start the mount rail?

A few years ago we remodeled our basement and built a star wars themed arcade... A few days ago my son and I started work on the inside of a Mameman32 built p2k virtual pinball machine. We call the arcade the Death Star Arcade. The Font for the text over the entrance is actual star wars font from ROTJ found on the web. The entrance says "Mos Eisley space port docking bay 84." The Han in carbonate was created from the original studio mold when the special edition of ESB was released in the late nineties. We have 10 xbox 360s and 10 xbox systems networked for system-linked play in addition to the 21 arcade/pinball machines. Above the xboxes are eFX and Master Re…

Hi everyone, I was able to acquire a for parts Space Invaders cabinet in August and have slowly been acquiring other parts here and there to the point where I've been able to start a cabinet build. I've learned a ton from reading through these forums - what a great resource - and figured it was high time that I started a build thread now that I've made some progress. I'm hoping to make a modern build but keep some of the great details that I'm lucky to have with the Space Invaders cabinet as a base. First the cabinet: Here it is all cleaned out. I'm very happy with the condition that the artwork is in. Just need to clean it a bit more and maybe do a few touch ups i…

Ok.. spent the last month accruing parts and aside from a couple things I'm still waiting for should be good to start turning what now appears to be a stack of boxes and pieces of wood into something that resembles a cab. This will be my first attempt at a pinball cab so should be fun. I was toying with ideas for a theme, originally thinking Twilight Zone but then I remembered years ago when Timeshock first came out seeing some kind of rendering of an actual cabinet which looked awesome. I shot barnstorm an e-mail to see if any cab art existed and lo and behold, it was an option on their kickstarter so I upped my pledge for the art also. I lost countless hours t…

Hi there! I´d like to build a virtual pinball with a 48" Samsung screen... ... because I have an empty pinball cabinet from "Gottlieb": Mars - God of War --> http://tinyurl.com/nc3lm3e This cabinet is an extrem widebdody: The playfield measures ~ 24.01 inches (= 61cm) The complete cabinet wide is ~ 25.59 inches (= 65cm) I tried to fit in my Samsung 46" (!) ... BUT I can throw it COMPLETELY (with original case) (!) INTO the cabinet... ... and still have ~1cm space on both sides I did not like the look very much... --> http://tinyurl.com/lfnjwwk What if I buy a new 48" Samsung and decase it? --> It is ~24.80 inches (= 63cm) wide WITH …
