Hey all, so the next project will be going full-retro and building a full size cabinet. Every single step will be documented - actually live-streaming the entire build on Twitch, starting from when the doorbell rings, to unboxing the cabinet hardware, to physically building the cabinet, to setting up a fairly stock HyperSpin/RocketLauncher/MAME install. Those that miss the live build on Twitch, it will also be on YouTube as well as a separate, time-lapsed version. So I kinda have my eye on http://www.recroommasters.com/32_Pro_Upright_Xtension_Arcade_Cabinet_Emulator_p/rm-xt-32-pro-ee.htm for the cab itself. Seems pretty solid but I'd like to trick out the control …

I purchased the 32" Pro Upright Xtension Arcade (Emulator Edition) from RecRoomMasters. For those who haven't seen their products, they provide an 'Ikea-like' cabinet that is shipped in pieces that you assemble together. They also offer a pre-built control panel or can work with the X-Arcade tanksticks or you could custom build that portion. You provide an LCD TV up to 32", the PC and an optional coin door (purchased from X-Arcade). After spending some significant time considering options, I decided to go this route as the cost and shipping is significantly less than purchasing a pre-assembled arcade cabinet. The biggest downsides would be the LCD TV as a monitor …

After spending months learning the ins and outs of Hyperspin, I finally decided to just have someone build me a machine. I just didn't have the time to build it myself. The machine is amazing and I am extremely pleased with how it turned out.

Hi and thank you for reading this post I have recently built a Lego themed arcade machine with a friend I will post a link to his blog with all the details. It use the Hyperspin frontend as I use it on mine as its fantastic but I am not good at Photoshop so the theme for the Lego games section looks lame and so does the theme for all 14 of the games. My question is would anybody be able to help me make the themes so it looks badass as this arcade may be featured in a magazine soon I will be mentioning Hyperspin as it is but will always mention and body that helps. Also just to add the games are pc based. hope someone can help thank you for your time. kind regar…

I am almost done with the plans for my cabinet, but want to pose a few questions before going too far to modify without foreseeable hassles. Before I continue, I will unfortunately state this, but only once: I know some people kind of enjoy being negative and mocking others. That is fine, you may do as you please as long as no true harm is done, but just realize that I will most likely skip over such nonsense and never reply to it. I admit, while younger, I even participated in similar discourse, but most people grow up and leave it behind. Anyway, I'm not preaching, and will leave it at that. What I want out of my cabinet: The unit will sit next to my home bar.…

Hey everyone I've seen a couple posts about computer build questions and was hoping to get some answers for myself. I have been running hyperspin on my main computer, but am ready to get a computer just for hyperspin, and possibly KODI as well. I have never built one from scratch, but really want to learn. On PC part picker and hearing other people talk, I was thinking something like: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Kingston HyperX Fury Red 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply P…

Well I finally got one. I am so happy it needs a little work and a new monitor but I am happy. I also got it for free which is even better . But what really makes it nice is when I got it home and found 27 dollars in quarters still in it. I was like hell ya. So It is now called my Lucky Cab. I took some pictures of it to show what it looks like I am going to take the free change and part out the rest of the unit on ebay and use that money to fix the unit. Bin one full of quarters in the front Bin two in the back full of more quarters Can't wait to start on it gotta move first. Thank you Paulstevens for finding me a free cab. I work so hard on HS and st…

I'll see if I can get some pics, gotta find that camera. My main goal was to have a nearly 100% stock looking NES and all for 400$ total. A few features: -CD/DVD tray - (used a non-working gold Zelda cart for the face) -100% concealed - (looks nearly like a NES, save for one HDMI port) -Uses a Pico PSU -Original power and Reset works -Uses original NES controller -Motherboard mounted upside-down - (because it's 100% concealed) Built on ASRock E3501 using onboard graphics and I think only 4GBs ram. It was made for those good old NES binges, remember the days when all we needed was a D-pad and two buttons? Haha, good Stuff. Let's test out my camera s…

Hi guys. I've been working on a new project build and thought I would start sharing my progress. This is a HUGE arcade cabinet with a high end PC and I'm super excited. I'm sure some people will not approve because of it's size and that's cool. I will keep you guys posted along the way. Junky

So I've seen various mentions of the need or lack of 2 coin buttons in other threads, but havent yet found a definitive answer... I was initially going to have 2 and a P1/P2 button and that is it, and use those buttons in combination for exit/pause BUT after setting up things I think I'm going to add an Exit and a Pause button separately as can see them being used a lot... but now i'm wondering if I need 2 coin buttons? Thoughts?

I'm in the process of building my cab, but given the bad weather it's somewhat delayed as I can only work outside. I was planning to wait until I'd built the cp to set up controls in all my systems, but I was wondering if its possible in any way to prepare for it being ready? I'm building using an ipac ultimate... Thanks

What's up guys, I'm getting ready to start my build, and can't seem to settle on the style of cab I want. My first intentions where to do a bartop, I like the look of those "tiny arcade" ones, but I'm wondering if I'm gonna wish I would have built a full size cab instead. I even thought about building a pedestal (stand/box) to set the bartop on that kinda makes it look like a small upright. I have a 19" wide screen monitor and a 32" LCD tv to use for them. I guess I'm just thinking out loud, but maybe someone wants to give opinions on it. Anyways here's a few pics to give you an idea as to what I'm torn between. Maybe even do a community vote

Long story short.... found Hyperspin, then brought buttons and joysticks, 8 months later realised I hadn't even started the cabinet and was spending all my time doing everything apart from building it so from this moment forwards I'm getting the build done Here is a layout for the Buttons (@ 50%), any advice would be great as I'm not sure if I have the right amount of buttons or what they will need to be configured for, thanks for any help

I'm in the process of my build and I am thinking of having LED buttons (White RGB from Ultimarc) Now, the reason I would like these is having been to a friends with an Xarcade, it took us a while to figure out which buttons were in use in each game, and this would obviously help to make it clearer. I'd also like to replicate the scheme for each system where relevant (neo geo 4 colour / snes 4 colour / nes 2 red etc) I know I can do all this with PacLED and LedBlinky My question is, how do these look in daylight. Most of my gaming is likely to be done in weekend daytimes so I want them to look good in all lights... Can you still see the colours in these condit…

I started this project months ago and it has consumed way too much of my time and money but I have enjoyed it. I hope you all who have done it appreciate the effort and those who haven't maybe it will give you some ideas. Going to post some pictures and then go back and discuss the process so may be a while between updates. First up Control Panel

I have 4 xbox 360 pads and I just use the play and charge cable to charge them one by one. I was thinking of buying a charge station but I was wondering what the best route to go would be. Thanks for your input in advance!
