Coin Slots 1 2

I am building a cabinet and have a single coin slot. Is there a way to configure mame to accept a coin inserted for player 1 to be shared to player 2, 3 or 4. I am building a 4-player cab, but don't really want to require to have 4 coin slots? Also I would like to be able to disconnect the coin door and have it so that would enable a shifted sequence to insert a coin, but have that sequence not function when the coin door is hooked up.

I normally post pics after the machine is completely built. But I love the theme of this so much I thought I would go ahead and share. It is a Justice League themed arcade. It will be a quad player wide body arcade with a 42 inch screen. Each player is assigned to a character of the Justice League. And each character will have their own color controls with LED buttons. I should start the build in the next week or so. Will have some finished pictures in about a month.

Hi, Was just wondering. The prices of Open Frame monitors on eBay seems a bit excessive given the fact the size etc. I was wondering, can you just strip down a normal monitor from its casing and use that? or am I missing something here? Thanks

Hello. Sorry if this might soon like a noob's question. I'm currently working on a cabinet with a friend. So far we haven't decided on anything specific, and are still in the planning stages. I'd like to add a screen at the top of the cabinet, which could display a few things, like the name of the system used, or the game, or both, or even an artwork of it. The main problem is, I have no idea of what I should look for, both for hardware or software. - Are there any small screens that I could buy somewhere to act as a second monitor and put on top of the cab? - Or should I go for a LED display, if so which would be best/offer the most configuration options? - As fo…

Hey there! I've been working on my cabinet for a few days now, and I thought I'd share some photos with y'all. In the end, the cabinet will feature horror comic artwork, as that's my line of business (I'm a professional comic book writer and letterer.) My wife and I are building the cabinet based on Ultimate Arcade II plans. Enjoy the photos, and feel free to ask questions if you've got 'em! Here are a few ideas I have worked up for side panel art. These are pulled straight from one of my comics. And here's the semi-budget PC I built to go inside the cab. I purchased everything from Newegg, except the massive video card. That was donated by one of my twit…

Hello everybody, today I decided to create my 1st post in the Hyperspin forums. The last year, I spend reading a lot here, getting a lot of valuable info and ideas. When my company gave away only HW for free, it did not take me long to decide what I will be doing with it. I started building a cab! This is what I want to present today. What I got is a Lenovo T61 (today equipped with a 120GB SSD, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM and a Core2Duo) turing out to be capable handling all my desired emulators. In the beginning, I thought I could get it set up without spending too much money (haha, guessed wrong), so I disassembled an old ps2 keyboard and rewired the matrix to get an interf…

Hey guys, looking for some extra input on my cabinet. I've already got the system set up but before I start cutting the table top I wondering whether or not to keep my 20" 4:3 display or do a 16:9 monitor. Either will fit in my setup but measure twice, cut once. This will be a cocktail cabinet so mostly I want MAME to be the primary focus but would really love to have PinMAME as well. For Visual Pinball and the like, I see most people running the desktop mode on a 4:3 monitor and fullscreen on a 16:9. Can pinball games run fullscreen on 90degree rotated 4:3 monitor? Anyways, this board is my best resource for others that may have tried. Lemme know!

Hyperspin was a bit difficult to work with at times but it was worth it. No other front end looks as good. The Marquee Side pic from before my marquee was mounted properly (I had a party and wanted the gap fixed) A better shot of the side art

Hi everyone, I've been working on my arcade cabinet for about 3 years. Why so long? Because it was supposed to be as cheap as possible! It all began when coming back from work I saw that my neighbour was trashing several huge chipboard panels. I figured it could be a good starter for a kid's dream: my own arcade cabinet. So I gathered all the wood I could - I'm living in Germany, and trashing habits here are quite insane for the French guy I am, I can't believe what I sometimes see in the streets - and also a nice 55 cm TV. I used as a basis the blueprints of Centipede cabinet found on arcadecontrols.com. It was the shape that remind me most of the cabinets I could pl…

Hi all, I think this is my very first post on here, though I'm sure there will be many more once its all working, I plan to contribute a lot of artwork you way also in due time So far, i've got HyperLaunch/Spin etc all working, and that is all great, however I'm having some major issues when trying to config my X Arcade Dual with emulators. I tried to config the controls via each emulator outside of HyperLaunch, but weird things like only one button on NullDC and the directions are working? and on Snes9X I can't configure the 2nd button that is assigned to ALT. Also, i'm having problems where me pressing a button also effects the emulator or windows, i.e if I press w…

Heres my cab. its called 1-UP ARCADE. The cabinet is a slightly customised kit that i bought from www.arcadeworx.com.au. my x-arcade tankstick sits in the top. These first couple images (see the bottom of the post, for some reason they appear down there instead of at the top) are of the renders troy from arcadeworx did up to show what the cabinet would look like. i designed the mushroom cutout out in cad and emailed him the file. Some pictures of the assembled cabinet. It was cutout with a cnc on prelaminated mdf with a high gloss black finish. (sorry for the bad quality, im finding it hard to get a decent image because of the reflective finish. Its put together with…

I'm really early in the process but thought I would share my plans for a 3 screen arcade system. Why 3 screens you ask? Well I want to use a stretch display for my marquee that changes based on the game being played. Additionally I want to have a small "helper" display that displays the actions of the buttons / controls when available. For the additional displays I am writing software that watches for the hyperlauch process and intercepts the game being played. From there it looks up the image for the marquee as well as the images / data for the controls. I will use one of these displays for the marquee. I think the 32 in. Not sure. Here is the monitor I will use …

Hello Everyone, Love this sight for the past year i have spent a large amount of time reading it, and dreaming that one day i would be able to set forth and build an arcade of my own that i could sit down with my daughter and play. I have posted bits here and there around the net but that all ends now. I would like to create a small thread on here and list my project as it happens here on out to gain valuable input from you all, as i have alot to learn and may be over looking the simple things. If there is anything i am doing you would do different please let me know, also please note the build as it is now will be fully stripped once i have it the way i want it to be…

Hey everyone, I've been a long-time lurker and have been planning a 4 Player arcade + trackball+ spinner +dedicated 4 way+ dedicated console controllers showcase cabinet for a while now. Ever since I've gotten into the emulation scene I have loved to play with original controllers for the actual console being played. So far I've collected all the controllers with their controller to USB adapter (x2). the tally so far is: NES SNES N64 GameCube Master system Sega Genesis (6 button) Dreamcast psx/2 My next dilemma is to how to easily incorporate this into a cabinet. I want to make the controllers easily accessible and easily put away and always connected ( so…

I started out with the idea to build a mame cab as cheap as possible and little to no wood work as I don't have access to and woodworking tools I think I nailed it I only have about $650 in it total! its not the flashyest cab out their but I think it looks good considering I only had about 3 weeks in the build. I used a old Atari cabinet I got from a guy off craigslist I striped it down painted it added new T moulding and went with the X-Arcade tankstick and pretty much bolted it on added the slideout keyboard with wireless Logitech with mousepad , tossed in a pc and added a led pushbutton in front to turn pc on and off , got the artwork from a guy off ebay (artwork loo…

Hello spinners, I just completed a stand up arcade cab design I wanted to share. The client had an interesting challenge in that he wanted to recess the Predator skull on the sides of the build. Add some LED lighting and he ends up with a pretty sweet Predator design. Attached are some pics of the design build. Vince was a great client to work with and provided me with some time saving Photoshop and Illustrator files to hit the ground running. The Side sample panels show the inlay skull design that will live behind the side panels. A circular hole will be cut out to recess the skull with illuminated LED light to pop the design on both sides. The Predator Control Panel…
