Hey All, Just got my first cabinet from RecRoomMasters, and finally getting all set up after years of saying I was going to do it myself haha. Anyway, now that I am, I'm realizing, they really should have put a handle on the keyboard door. Not that you have to go in there that often, but there's just no where to really grip to get the thing open. I was wondering if anyone in here has added one themselves to one of their cabinets or a similar cabinet? There's plenty of options at Home Depot and I'll probably just pick something that looks nice, but I figured might as well check and see if anyone has any input. Thanks!

So, I've been working on my initial artwork ideas, and starting on the CP got me thinking and I decided to do a good think through of my controls before I start designing. I'd already thought this through but as I've been setting up HS and all the emulators I had more thoughts... I'm going to be using an iPac Ultimate as will be using LED buttons... Anyone see any issues in the following? P1: 8 buttons P2: 8 buttons P1 Start P1 Coin P2 Start P2 Coin Pinball buttons x2 Additional (i.e. non physical) controls: Shift - P1 hold Exit - Shift + P2 (I.e P1+P2) Pause - shift + coin 1 or coin2 Save / Load state - shift + flippers 2 mouse buttons - P1 7/8 Also.…

How do you control your cabinet? I started out using just the Statup Script to map my joysticks and buttons and it seemed fine for a minute. Then I realized that these controls didn't work in HyperPause or HyperSearch. I'm now using JoyToKey to be able to use the arcade controls for these programs. I would like to know what people have found to be the best way to control all the aspects of a HyperSpin cabinet. I know that it will likely be JoyToKey, Keymapper or the Startup Script but I'm interested to know the advantages and disadvantages of each of these. Is there a best or ideal setup, is it just a matter of preference, does it depend on the encoder you're usin…

I have UltraStiks set up for players 1 and 2 tried to hook through my ipac4. i can not get them turn on. have them wired to +5 and ground. I get them to turn on when i plug a USB into them. They work hooked to USB and IPAc but when i play my gamepad on say N64 and go back to mame they controls change from say JOY 1 to Joy 3. I need then to be solid to 1 JOY or preferable not joy just Keyboard entries. How would i fix this. If i could only get the +5 and ground to power them up like USB does. I do not know why the green light will not light when plugged into the IPAC 4 plugged into +5 and GND.

Hello Fellow Hyperspinners! Im starting on a new project that Im building for my brother that will involve a NES console and raspberry Pi. I know its not Hyperspin, however; Ill detail the process as I go and in case anyone would want to use a Pi instead of using an ITX motherboard. Here are my project goals (depending on the snags I run to, might change): -Retain the cartridge loading mechanism (minus mainboard) and give it a purpose ...I plan to either use a USB drive or hard drive inside an existing cartridge and use the 72 pin connector (both in the cartridge and Nintendo cartridge receptacle) to run a USB connection to the Pi. I will also incorporate a fea…

I am starting the building of a 4 player pedestal similar in layout to http://www.dreamhomearcades.com/oursystems.aspx?gallery_cmd=load&gallery_index=00000007 I wanted to know the best place to source artwork for it! The vinyl/decals to put underneath the player controls, side of the cabinet, etc. Any guidance would be very appreciated, thank you all.

Hello, i am Dimitrios from Greece and this is my first cab build. (based on dk's plans) I had the idea when my ps3 had been broken so i sold all games and peripherals and i funded the project. I used 1cm mdf instead of 1.6 with T-molding. An old pc, 19' lg 4:3 screen, old 2.1 speaker etc, ipac 2 controller, buttons and switches from arcadeworld.uk and super mario bros stickers. here are some pics. Project is not finished, i need to buy plexi for the screen and marquee and to install successful this time hyperspin. I am having problem with Retroarch. Each time i open the app it crashes immidiately. #@$^%@#$%.

***MORTAL ARCADE*** So I've started my MAME cab conversion. It started life as a Golden Tee Fore! 2005 dedicated cab. I picked it up 2 of them for free from an arcade dealer who was going to scrap them. Not the one I picked up, but this is what the cab looks like. (mine was non-operational) Gutted the interior Cleaned the exterior (nicotine stains and dirt), must have come from a sports bar. Added a 24" LCD monitor. Removed excess hardware from the kick plate. Stripped and cleaned the CP top. Filled the existing holes with wood filler, then sanded. Placed the template for the new CP buttons and joysticks. I first drilled small pilot holes in the c…

Hello All, I know it has been done many times before, but I have an idea for an NES PC that I was planning on doing and wanted to get some feedback on. I have gutted my NES and I am waiting for my dremel to arrive. I will give updates as I go through the steps (right now taking pictures of a gutted NES seems silly). My idea is to have a PC inside a NES but to have the PC upside down and have the bottom of the NES be plexiglass, so that the work can be viewed simply by flipping it over. I also don't love just cutting out the T shape plastic and leaving the rest. Let me know if you have any thoughts on it. I have searched through many pages of builds and I have not…

I ordered a leapmotion today and wanna build it in my cabinet for mame shooters instead of an arcade gun. Does somebody already tried this controller with mame gun games? I like to hide it under my screenglass for just a quick mame shooter with an invisible lightgun and controlling the mouse with it and maybe trackball games. http://goo.gl/Of7QYP

I finally decided to build me a cab after many years of gathering equipment. I work for an amusement company so I had the option to take some old cabinets but they just didn't fit in with what I had in mind. So I got out the CorelDraw and started playing around with different ideas. I wanted to have something maybe a little more modern looking, be able to hide away the keyboard, and I really wanted to be able to rotate the monitor. Graphics I wanted to base them off Galaga since that is the game that got me to really start the project after a little vacation with my family. Well this is what I came up with...

Hi, I decided to build my own bartop cab. For the monitor I'll buy a Dell 19" or 20" on eBay, an MiniATX motherboard with a core2duo CPU and a SSD only for booting Windows. I think I'll use illuminated buttons. So can you hell me with the choice of the buttons and Joysticks. I'll also play Q*bert on the cab, so which Joystick may I buy? Which is the best online shop? What ist the best PCB to connect the buttons and sticks to the USB? best regards Gesendet von meinem LG-D855 mit Tapatalk
