I'm starting this thread because I have not found anywhere that answers the most common questions about cabinets all in one place. I have spent hours reading posts and I can't say I remember everything I have read. I will update it as I find information so that everything is easily accessible. If you have something to contribute to this FAQ, please let me know and I will update it. I am especially interested in your CPU /graphics card configuration so that we can help others who are looking to pick their components out. TV/Monitor are used interchaneably here unless noted. This document can also be found on the Hyperspin-fe.com forums. When updated, I will post …

So I thought I would give back to the community and offer my services with the printing of graphics and decals for your projects. I own a sign company in Connecticut and have a 54" digital printer. I have printed some artwork for Mameman and a couple of others on the forum and have been asked by a few about printing their work. You can see the quality of the printer and material on my build http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13088. So I am starting this thread to offer my services at a fair price which I hope will be less than what it would normally cost you around your area. Here is what you get and how much. Material: -Arlon 3165RA (Rapid Air Release Te…

Hello spinners & pinners, My name is Josh White and I've been making some custom Pinball cab designs for members. I started with Dazz's Twilight Tribute HyperPin 2125 at the Texas Pinball Convention in March this year. Since then I've done a few more designs and wanted to offer my services. I'm a broadcast senior graphic designer with 18 years’ experience in design for tv, print & web. I've got my BFA in Art at the University of Rhode Island and started working for NBC out of college. We moved around the country a few times and now our family lives in Texas. I love making design work for people. This venture is a true calling back to my roots as an artist learn…

Please note that we have stopped making pinball cabinet kits. Just too busy with our regular complete pin cab business as well as the arcade games. We will however continue to make the lockdown bars for only $75 as our way of giving back to the DIY community. Thanks, Jack Lockdown Bars - We decided to make our own stainless steel lockdown bars! We can make any size bar needed. We have recently changed our standard bar depth from 2" to 3". .It's more like a standard Williams / Bally bar now. In our testing during gameplay these bars were preferred over the original Gottlieb bar due to a larger flat top area for the palms. We also use a thicker gauge steel than s…

Hi all, I've added another Guide to my project site. When I first started out there's was a load of head scratching on deciding on what exactly you need for the build. For the complete noob interested and looking to build a cab this guide shows (with most photos) the parts you will need to build a cab of similar dimentions as I am. http://pinacolada.danielpotter.com/cabinet-parts-guide/ (I realise there are others posts on this so I'm not trying to tread on anyone, just tyring to complete the resource I'm trying to create.) Cheers guys. Any feedback or advice on improving these is much appreciated. Dan.

After looking around the hyperspin forum, picking up ideas for my pinball cabinet that I will (eventually) build, I noticed that there is a common problem with a lot of people unsure how to hook things up electrically. A quick chat to Dazz and Chriz99 got me going with the need for a simple electrical guide for those that need some help. And a bloody good chance for me to give a little back to this great project (Looking at you BBB) Enjoy 3/4/11 2nd Draft uploaded. 5/4/11 3rd Draft uploaded and url updated. 7/4/11 Layout changed and contents page added (I didn't know I could write so much! Pandora's box or what?) 12/4/11 Final Draft for review from the guru's 10/5/…

Hi all, It all started with the never satisfied Chris wanting more and more on his cab. I had some ideas before on using a Arduino for the job. Since then it has become more then a idea and i feel like sharing this with the community to see where it could end up. The plan is like this: We use a Arduino board instead OR beside a LEDwiz. The Arduino is a programmable board with lots of connections. You have to prgoram it to do something. This is a step to make, but i think a step worth taking. The main thing is that a .vbs script (like the ledwiz.vbs) is catching the ROM events from VP/MAME and forward it to the Arduino thru RS232. From that point the Arduino handles …

So far a few of us decided it was time to give alittle back to those that have given so much to us. Mameman has offered the wood work and time to create a cab, P1 has Donated the screens, I have donated the PC, and art work. We need the legs, Ledwiz, shaker motor, contactors, glass, lock down bar, and I'm sure alot more to complete this. This is purely a gift to a person that has donated his time, and life to a hobby we all enjoy. I am asking anyone that can to please donate in anyway to this. Please take a minute to think about this and donate if you can. If you can not, then post here showing your support. We will be doing this in the future to any member that h…

I've built my arcade cabinet (picture below) and now have 'permission' from my wife to build a pinball machine for my bar at home It wont be a full size one for space reasons but I'm thinking a dual monitor with a 32" playing and 19" for the backbox. I'll likely only get into it after spring when I've cleared all the snow (I live in Canada) and the outdoor jobs are done but I'd like to start to get some of the components together now (pinball legs etc). I was looking at getting a nudge board and plunger first but was struggling on the nanotechgaming.com site for their kit. is there a Canadian distributor site for a lot of the components that anybody is aware…

This is my ICade mod using USB encoder for the joystick and buttons with a Dell micro PC in the back end with USB volume knob. Powered by Windows 10, Hyper-Spin, and Rocket-Launcher with Atari 2600, MAME, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Sega Genesis emulators and roms set up. The display is a 4:3 8 inch Neewar monitor which I purchased off of Amazon. I have acrylic glass behind my wooden bezel which I drilled out holes for monitor buttons in both the bezel and glass. All artwork was created by me in Photoshop and printed on adhesive vinyl. The marquee was made with the same acrylic glass and has an 8 inch LED glass enclosure with remote made for small fish aquariums I …

I'm a 42 year old guy who grew up in arcades in the 80's and 90's. I love arcade games and pinball, and video games in general. I've also been an electronics technician for 20 years. (15 as a civvie, 5 in the military) This WAS my mancave a while ago. It housed my custom simpit that I made for racing and flight sim games. It had three 42 inch TVs for surround view, as well as 12 transducers combined with SimVibe software to give vibrational feeback from telemetry data from the racing games I played. The console on the right rotates around to switch between a shifter and flightstick. The dash has two tablets that act as tachometer / speedometer, and a button box / …

Right here goes.... After months of reading and head scratching I feel its time to start my own cabinet build. Many thanks to all of the fantastic people on this site who have figured out so much on how these things go together. you guys all deserve a medal or something Let the Build commence... After seeing Mamemans fantasitic Tron P2K build, I thought about doing something similar, but decided against it, and plumped for a standard body cab (Freezy's detailed plans helped to a certain degree), and the detailed threads from Chriz99 and Deegor. I have decided to theme the cabinet on artwork from the Watchmen Series, as I thought that it would look good on the Cabine…

Does HyperPin have the ability to have sound files playing while navigating thru the tables. In other words, say you are flipping thru tables and stop at Tommy, can HyperPin play a WHO song file? Then when you go to another table, say ACDC, can HyperPin play an ACDC song? It just seems like that should be an option.

Hi folks, before completely hijacking the other thread, I thought I'd post the follow-up in a separate one. Many thanks already to maxx and zebulon who helped me out a lot! For the history, my main power switch seemed to have produced an over current which blew out the fuse of my amp: Since I didn't have such small fuses and I certainly didn't feel like soldering a new fuse every time it blows, I've soldered two wires to an external fuse holder and screwed it into the amp: The fuse that was blown says T1AL250V which I suppose stands for 1A slow blowing at 250V. So I've ordered some of those, but when I plug the amp, it blows instantly. Now zebulon mentioned that …

Hey everyone, After many weeks of planning and WAY too many questions for the experts around here, I am starting my build thread. I first want to thank everyone for spending so much time answering all my questions, sending me links to parts, making suggestions, and just being extremely helpful! (mameman, chriz99, maxxsinner, sacredgaming, Zen74, luvthatapex, pinballlooking, pixelmagic, Numiah, zebulon, DeeGor, Zablon, Takedown, H4CK3R, and anyone else I may have forgotten. You’ve all been amazing!) I am going to do my best to list (and link) to the parts I bought. Hopefully this will help others. Cabinet - Standard Williams Widebody based on mameman’s plan…

Hi everyone, my first ever post! I'm completely brand new to this, having just taken delivery of a Candy Cabs cabinet running lots of emulators under Hyperspin. Therefore, please excuse the ignorance of this question, but then I hope it should be a simple one! MY QUESTION: Quite simply: In the Sega model 2 emulator running in Hyperspin, how do you bring up a menu to configure the controls? I mean in MAME you would press Tab on the keyboard and select "Input - this game": What's the equivalent in Sega M2? REASON FOR ASKING: I absolutely adore the game "Top Skater" which I've found in the Sega M2 emulator. It fires up and launches into the demo mode OK, bu…

TLDR: Looking to find some original arcade art sources for X-men, TNMNT, The Simpsons (4 player titles) (Games I played non-stop in the arcade) Ok guys and girls, so I've been away for awhile but I've recently had some freelance work aside from my normal job. What does this mean? I'm finally in a financial position to spend some cash towards a proper cabinet. I'm terrible at wood work and have little to no tools, so I was thinking of going with a kit. This is the kit I was looking at: https://www.recroommasters.com/32-Pro-Upright-Xtension-Arcade-4-Player-Cabinet-p/rm-xt-32-pro-4p.htm I'm great at graphics etc. (freelance work) but need some help f…
